Wow, the cover is amazing:) I'm so pumped that it will be released so soon! I was expecting it to be months and months before it was released. The movie is phenominal and the entire cast was just incredible. Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thoms fit right in and they worked so awesome with the original cast. Having been listening to RENT for almost 8 years now, I still never tire from the music or the emotion. I think the film really captured everything the live show does and Christopher Columbus, congratulations, you did a phenominal job directing it. You stuck so much to the original libretto and that was amazing. I don't think it could have been better if Jonathon Larson himself was directing it.

Wow its been to long since I've seen RENT when the quality is so bad.. yes I got a bootleg that was terrible. But I think I'll get two copies of the dvd. One wide screen and one full screen. I just started watching law and order because of Jesse. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ADAM and Idina is the most georgeous human in the universe and undisputidly the most talented! I have been checking this site daily in anticipation of the DVD release. I also watch the trailer and movie clips. The trailer is so right, RENT defined a generation. It came onto stage my senior year in high school and it put all of those issues out in the open. And here we are 10 years later and it all is still relevant issues for today. RENT has been apart of my life for 10 years and now I bore my husband to death by listening to the soundtrack over and over again. All I can say is thank you to the magnificent cast for recreating this movie to continue defining generations of the future!

When I saw this play for the first time, I was a senior in high school and it completely changed my entire outlook on life,friendships,love and family. All I have to say is that i thought when Chris Columbus directed Harry Potter that it was incredbile but when i saw this film it completely blew me away.

Dear Rent Cast,

I absoutley loved this film!!!! I am so excited for this movie to come out. When it was in theaters I must have seen it about 5 of 6 times. I loved everything about it. You all did such a wonderful job. I recently went to NYC for new year's eve with my family and everything I did in the city reminded me of this film. I would see posters every where, and I would take pictures of them. I even acted out the Santa Fe song while I was on the subway...yea I got a few weird looks for that one, but I didn't care. I felt like I was there with you guys. While I was in the city I had heard that Taye Diggs was supposed to be in town and I was right on the corner of 44th street in Times Square on new years eve and I stood ther for 13 hours straight hopping to get a glimpse of the Rent star. Although I didn't I still had the time of my life. I'm planning to go again next year for the new years event , because I just love the city, and I'm not sure how the musicals are scheduled up there but I'm trying to get my parents to get some Rent tickets so we can see it on stage. I'm so excited for the film to come out to purchase and I just wanted to say that I absoutley LOVED this film. I loved everything about it. There wasn't one thing I didn't like. YES!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! (My 22nd birthday was the 10th!!)

I've never seen RENT on stage. I'd heard few of the songs and had little idea as to what it was about. When I went into the movie a little over a month ago, I had no expectations. I had no idea that seeing the film would be one of the most exhilarating experiences I'd ever had in a theatre. I've always considered myself to be a pretty serious film aficionado, with very discriminating taste and the cynical viewpoint much of the time (in other words, a total snob). But something about this film - could've been the passion, the sincerity of it all - just made me melt. That's right, melt. I could blubber for hours on what made all the emotion just right, all the characters pitch-perfect, and on and on and on. Some things I just can't find words for. /

Since then, I've listened to the soundtrack on a nonstop loop, but circumstances kept me from seeing the film again - by the time I could, it had disappeared from the theatres in my town. (Which sucks, by the way). So of course I must pre order the DVD immediately. (It actually comes out two days before my birthday, but I'm not sure I can wait that long). Anyway, to everyone involved in the film, you have created something AMAZING that I, for one, will always hold dear. I don't know what else to do except to THANK you so much for the incredible experience that is this film.

I am SOOOOOO thrilled about this. When I saw it I ran around my basement. I ordered it immediately. I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also reilly love the the cover especially Collins and Angel.

I am really excited this movie is coming out on DVD so quickly! I'm really dissapointed that the movie wasn't a huge success in theaters but, hey, people don't know what they're missing. I only got to see RENT once in theaters (funny how life consumes your life, eh?). And ever since then, I have been playing it over and over and over in my mind. So, needless to say, I am highly anticipating the DVD!
As amazing as RENT (and all of JL's work) is, lately I have been so moved by the story of Jonathan's death. By how the cast and crew of the original show honored his life by carrying on. I know alot of people have spent time being concerned about holding up the integrity of the work, but I feel like... ya know, he left it for them. He trusted them to carry this the rest of the way, and they have done an amazing job of honoring his life in doing so.
I can only hope and pray that whatever I choose to do with my life will be so honored and respected by my friends and family that they will carry it on.

This is awesome!!!! I have already preordered. I am already having "Rent" withdrawals. I was lucky to see it again 1/15/06 (for the 10th time) an hour and a half from home. Couldn't believe I found it somewhere in the theaters. Can't wait to see it on my bigscreen in my own home. It looked like the previews had some scenes that were deleted. Can't wait to see it again and again!!!

I just wanted to say that you guys ae my complete inspiration. After I saw Rent, I decided I wanted to be in musicals. And now I have rehearsals every day and I am having the time of my life! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited. While the movie was in theaters near my house I saw it atleast once a week, and now that it is no longer in theaters I have been going crazy! I listen to the cd constantly, it is the only thing that I play. Once this movie comes out it will be the only thing that I watch. Especially with all the wonderful extras they are putting on it. OMG I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 45 year old mother of two teenage daughters, (who seem to be your biggest fan base), and I am here to report that last night I think we went to the very last existing showing of the movie in the country. Thank you, Richmond VA, for keeping it around this long! I keep telling my girls that addiction is a terrible thing, but I am not setting a very good example here because I saw the movie 5 times!!!!
Good luck on 1/31 with the Oscar nominations but even if you get ignored you will always be first in our hearts!!!

This is the best news I've heard! I can't belive it's coming out so soon. The cover is really cute, and I like the first quote "one of the best films of the year". They should of won something a globes! I'll sit in the house for years watching it over and over and over when it does come out!

As of yesterday, RENT has left our theater. So I'm glad I only have to wait four weeks to buy the DVD. I've got a 24 hour movie store in town, so I'm gonna get it at midnight. Thanks so much for bringing this amazing story to a film format. It allowed me to experience it, when I probably wouldn't have been able to before. Thank you!

RENT has changed my choices for the future (in a good way). I love love love it so so so much. I will be counting down the days till Feb. 21 . Oh man, what a good couple of months we got coming. Anthony's book in February, See What I Wanna See in March, Law and Orders, and Taye has a recurring role on Will and Grace (the best show)!!! Wahoo! I just wanted to say to everyone that I really appreciate everything you have done for us. The movie was amazing. I went 4 times, and brought some RENT virgins. Now they are as obsessed as me. Thanks for giving this to us!! Everyone was so good in the movie! I wish you luck in the rest of your endeavors!

On one hand I'm happy it's being released on DVD so soon. On the other, I'm really dissapointed it didn't last longer in theaters; it takes on a different sort of magic there. Maybe they'll start a weekly Rocky Horror Picturesque cult inspired midnight showing in The Village. That would be awesome.

I have to agree with Nat, I would have liked to see it in theaters longer. But I am very happy that I don't have to wait long to have my own copy of it. Not only that, but I am very excited to finally see all of the pre-tango scene. Unfortunitly the film caught fire during one of the first showings and when I saw it, it had just been repaired. So I got to see Mark realising he just met Joanne, and then it skipped forward to "test one, two, three". I know it's only a few lines, but it's been driving me nuts, so I am thrilled to finally get to see those few lines. Thanks again!

I'm counting down the days until Feb. 21st!!! My sister-in-law was just asking me about what kind of movie "RENT" is. I told her it was a musical, drama, romantic, comedy, tragedy, action, inspirational all-in-one kind of movie. Basically, it's LIFE! Now she and my brother are waiting for my wife and I to buy the DVD so that they can come over and watch it with us on our big screen TV! Once they see it, I just know the RENTheads will grow by two more (maybe three; they're expecting their first child in September). OMG!!!!! I just finished scraming and jumping around forthe past 15 minutes, I'm so excited! And I also have no voice left...doesn't matter! Love the cover, cannot WAIT to own it and watch it over and over again. Surprised it's out so soon after the movie came out in theatres.Once again, Yay!!!!

I've been waiting for the movie to come out the day after I saw it in the theatre.

YES!!! The news I've been waiting for!! Even more, it's the news my kids have been waiting for. I have 4 children, ages 20, 18, 14, 12 and because of this film, we are all RENTheads now!!

I loved this movie. Everything about this show was wonderful. I will have to admit my favorite star in it is Idina. She is fantastic. I got to see her in Wicked. Everyone did a great job.

I can't wait to get this DVD. It was so great to see most of the orgional cast return.

I am so outrageously excited! I went and saw "Rent" four times in theatres!!! It has lighten up my life and now a bunch of my friends are Rent-heads-in-training! It was positively amazing when I was in the theatre and looked back at the audience behind me. There were long-time fans singing along to the music, shushing their friends when their favorite song came on, and crying at the film's touching moments, even though they knew full well what was going to happen. You could also see people who had been drawn in by the film's advertisements and had already fallen in love with "Seasons of Love" from the commercials alone. I glanced back and could see them being touched by this insanely awesome story for the first time and becoming addicted to it's spectacular music! Everyone who worked on this film should be SO VERY proud of themselves. As soon as it comes out on DVD I'll be watching it with all of my friends who didn't come to the theatre with me, and I intend on watching it at least 4 more times within the first 2 weeks that I get it! Every aspect of the movie was fantastic! I hope everyone who worked on "Rent" fully realizes how much it has meant to so many people! I'm definitely going to give this DVD a place of honor in my family room as soon as I buy it!

I Love RENT and everyone thinks that i am obsessed with rent i would agree cause i love it that i can watch rent the play every day and i can sit and watch the movie evryday as well. Rent is also my life. (After my family that is)If you didn't see the play or movie yet i recommend you see both. I loved both so much and i cant wait to see the movie on dvd. OMGOMGOMG. all i can manage to say is OMG. i have seriously been waiting for this since the DAY i saw it in theatres (okay...i saw it 6 times in theatres. but STILL!). when my 2 best friends told me "oh yeah, rent comes out on the 21st," i screamed "WHAT?!?!" in a high, loud, and squaky voice. it was almost inhuman, it was so ridiculous. and it was in my high school's cafeteria, too. but bottom line, i am SO freaking excited for this movie too come out. because this movie has helped me not be ashamed of me as a person or who i am, and ive learned to live life- each moment. because theres NO DAY BUT TODAY! love to all

Oh my God as of 8:40 this morning i am the proud owner of the RENT DVD! It is so great! Right now i am sitting in my school library and dodging the librarian. I just got finished crying over the Goodbye Love deleted scene. It is so sad. For all those who don't have it yet, hurry up. You must see it!

Just bought the dvd today...had seen it 3 times in theatre and have listened to the cd constantly since then. I have no idea what it is about this movie that has affected me so much...I even wake up dreaming about it with the songs in my head. I love Angels' outlook and generosity in life and the love that all these very different people share. I know it's only a movie but I feel like I know all of the characters...and their lives have touched me.
