I would SO do some of the things my fellow RENTheads did! If I saw like Rosario Dawson or Tracie Thoms or somebody,I'd totally flip out! I'd like be shaking or faint(if it was Adam Pascal ;) ),but I would hold my composure and ask for an autograph or something. The play and the movie both touched me in a way that if I saw the people who were apart of either one,I'd be so ecstatic! You guys rock and I hope that you guys are STILL checking these posts!

This was so cute:
IDINA: That is so clever of that fan to do. That is so adorable.
ANTHONY: Peanut butter jar? that is a little weird but in some ways, really cute. I'll have you sign something if I ever get the chance to meet you.
ADAM: Would you light MY candle? When I meet you, be prepared to light a candle, take photos, and sing into my phone.
ROSARIO: Little cows? How cute?
I love you all.
Where's my dearest Wilson?

I'm glad to hear that you guys appreciate us Rent-heads and don't find us utterly annoying.
In response to Anthony's comment about autographs: I totally agree. The first time I met the Rent cast (I've never met you-- I'm new to Rent.. I've only really gotten into it this year), I was physically trembling, and I got their autographs, but what meant more to me was actually telling an actor much much s/he means to me and how the performance touched me.
And when people start physically trembling, it's because you guys are soo amazing. As I said, the 1st time I met the cast I was shaking. I was shaking when I went backstage. It's just a physical reaction to having a dream come true- so if anything, be happy for that type of physical reaction.
Thanks for reading!!

I'm glad you all enjoy talking and responding to rentheads like me, and everyone else who post on this site, and everywhere else. What would the world be like without rentheads, or Rent for that matter? You all are amazing. I cant wait to see the next entry.
Take care,

You guys are my inspiration, seriously. I know I'm not the only one, but I would really like to perform in RENT on Broadway some day. I want to meet all of you too, but who doesn't. I love to sing. I was thinking about giving up on my voice lessons until I heard you sing. You are amazing. I really hope you guys check this...cuz that would be cool...duh.
Love Always,

Adam if I ever met you on the street I would probably pass out before I did asked you to sing for me or light a candle. Just wanted to let you know it was snowing yesterday and all I could think about was "I should tell you"!

Us Rentheads can be pretty crazy can't we. Thanks for being so good-natured and sweet about signing autographs on weird things, lighting candles and singing into cell phones! I just hope I'll get to meet you someday.
P.S. Those cow hats sound awesome.

I'd be shaking too if I ever met any of the cast. I love their voices and without the right voice for the character it just doesn't work. Nothing pumps me up more than blasting La Vie Boheme or Out Tonight. There isn't a day that goes by without a song from RENT in it. I've already worn out and needed to replace my OBCR, lets see how long it takes for that to happen to the movie soundtrack. You guys are amazing, thank you so much for all the work and heart you put into this for us. No words will ever express how grateful I am to all of you. You've given us such an amazing gift. You hear it a lot I know, but you can't be told or hear enough how much you are loved. That goes for anyone. Have a good holiday season guys!
Posted by: Courtney on 12/09/05 at 07:26 PM
AWWWWW! I'm glad to know that you guys appreciate us RENTheads. Idina, that is so cute how that creative fan made you Maureen dolls. I would like to have one in the cat outfit. Anthony, a peanut butter jar, cereal box....kinda funny. But you're right, they must have significant meanings to those fans. And I'm pretty sure that I would be trembling if I had the opportunity to meet you. Adam, if I could meet you I would ask you to light my candle and sing into my cell phone. Rosario, I would definitely love to meet you, take pictures with you, and own one of those signed cow hats. Very cute. Us RENTheads looooove you guys so much. RENTheads forever!

I just wanted to say that I'm absolutely in LOVE with the picture of Anthony on the table during La Vie, and Idina clutching his leg. Idina, you look so amazing and Anthony is so svelte and sexy.

It's great to know that you guys epreciate the things that us RENTheads do. So many actors and actesses seem annoyed by their fans, but you guys seem to really listen to them and respect what they say. Thank you and keep the blogs coming! I check the rent blog just about everytime i get on the computer, and there always seems to be a new one! Thank you so much! I love all of you!

I LOVE YOU IDINA
Posted by: Chelsea on 12/09/05 at 08:16 PM
Carrying candles around.... not a bad idea. ADAM I LOVE YOU! Will you sing into my phone? That is, if I get one. Rosario, I want a little cow hat! Oh and if I ever meet you Anthony, I'd have you sign my rent soundtracks! Idina can I have a duplicate of the catsuit barbie?
Posted by: Ashley on 12/09/05 at 08:42 PM
I definitely agree with Anthony, that if I ever met someone from the RENT cast I would just want to tell them how much I love their work, and how much what they've done has impacted my life.
And then I would probably tremble and faint...
Oh, and Adam, would you light my candle???

Idina in a can, that is so funny to me i don't know why it just is....
Posted by: Chelsea on 12/09/05 at 09:24 PM
Thanks for the update everyone, we LOVE it! I'm sooooo glad Miss Idina told that story. I went to your website and looked in "Elfie's Closet" and I saw this thing in a picture that said Idina in a Can, and to me it looked like an aerosol can, so I totally thought it was some kind of like voice thing or something. Kind of like bonaca I guess, like if you sprayed it in your mouth it would help your voice or something. Now I'm glad to know it's a barbie doll. That's very awesome though to do that for you. I don't think I'd have the paitence for that. LOL.
I totally love that you all seem to have put your hearts and souls into this movie, it's amazing and I can't wait for the DVD. I hope all this good blog video stuff is on it! You all did SUCH wonderful work! Once the DVD comes out my main goal is try and learn the Tango of Tango Maureen, and maybe Mimi's dance from the Cat Scratch Club, because that looked like a fun thing to do. Much love and continued success to all the cast and crew,
Alexandra

Note to self about when/if I ever meet Adam:
1) DO NOT FAINT
2) Bring a candle and ask him to light it. lol I love that.
3) Bring my cell phone and ask him to record my voicemail (please? :-P)
4) Ask him to sign the cover to my Rent CD... I convieniently (this is so sad) leave it in my purse on the off-chance I meet you. (I know, aren't I ridiculous?) Anyway...
5) If he agrees and does any of those things, DO NOT FAINT, or if I must, make sure not to die of embarassment once I regain conciousness
6) DO NOT forget to tell him how utterly amazing and talented and wonderful he is.
7) Say THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU, then let him get on with his life.
That is all. And I love you all to death.
xoxo Charlotte

Anthony, I have to admit that I was one of those shaking fans back at the Today Show. I had been listening to your voice on the OBC recording for so long and I was so glad to meet you that I just couldn't find the words to express what I wanted to say. I just wanted to tell you how much that CD and your performance as Mark has meant to me but I can't even express it now. So, just so you know, that's what was going through the mind of one

Anthony! I want a signed copy of your book, more than anything! more than the CD you signed for me (how embarassed was I? at the Halloween FriendsinDeed party), more than my RENT bible on 6th Street/SF/NYE set. I mean it! An autographed copy of your book!
Ro and Adam and Jessie, we signed each other, guys. Forever. You're always in my heart.
Tracie and Wilson: I love you. More than you know.
Idina, you rocked my world 45+ times in West Oakland, you diva!
I hope you're all still cresting the wave of the film.

This blog is so amazing, I love it, and I will be so sad when the updates stop(b/c they have to eventually, right?...Let's just not think about that right now). Anyways, I'm sure I would totally freak out if I saw any one of them in person. I'd make a total idiot of myself...oh well I've had practice with that, haha.
Thanks to the whole cast and the Larson family and Mr. Columbus for keeping this going, you have no idea how great it is to come on here, and there be some new blogs to read/watch.
Posted by: Megan on 12/09/05 at 11:37 PM
Oh by the way...that pic of Rosario is HOT! So gosh darn FIERCE as Mimi, I loved it.
Posted by: Megan on 12/09/05 at 11:44 PM
Idina in a Can! How funny!
Anthony, I've never really craved an autograph, either. Just to be in the presence of someone I admire so much would be enough. All I require are a handshake and, in many cases, a hug, and then I'm set.
Adam, I am so going to carry around a candle with me from now on in the hopes of randomly meeting you on the street. You'd better stock up on those matches!
Rosario, you keep getting more and more adorable. And I will totally gift you, if I ever meet you, with tons and tons of Rentheadish items. You totally deserve them.

P.S. Rosario, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those women with the cows did not do it for RENT. When my sister, mother, and I were talking to them, they didn't even know what RENT was! But, it was cute all the same :)

Idina: That's so weird, because I was going to say something like that, only with a friend of mine. Anyway, thanks for spreading such a good message. And those Maureen and Elphaba dolls; man where can I get some? LOL.
Anthony: Until RENT, I was never big on autographs, but now...we'll just have to see. People have had you sign peanut butter jars? Wow. Fans just get crazier and crazier. And I loved how Taye was like "It's just me" when you were talking about the fans trembling.
Adam: People have asked you to sing and say happy birthday into their phones? Well, if my friend heard you in her phone, I swear she'd flip out; she's practically in love with you. And candles?! Ha, it doesn't get much better than that.
Rosario: Oh! I saw you in one of those cow hats after the performance on the Today Show. Those things are so adorable and look great on you!
Lots of love to you wonderful group of people! :D

i must say that i love you guys and being in your presence is like--i dont know, its soo amazing because i look up to you all so much, it actually hurts a little. just seeing you, it makes me wanna cry because youre all my heroes. (here we go with the corny factor- sorry but its true) like when i met idina at her concert in provincetown-i was totally star struck--i seriously dont think i said anything cause my mouth was just open. and then at the today show, anthony you spent so much time with us in the corner that got up at the butt crack of dawn to see you, it was sooo amazing. and then at the thing at the virgin megastore...whoa man...my mom and i were out there all night, we were the 9th and tenth people in line (taking into account the cutters) and it was sooooo cold. i was freezing, starving, i cut school, and i got pooped on 3 times by a pigeon just to see you all, minus jesse :( , and it was SOOOO worth it. i couldnt believe i was there, it was surreal, and it sounds stupid and cheesy and i sound like a total nutcase, but on the little platform, when you guys were signing stuff, i was so happy. i have never ever in my entire life been that happy. and you were all so nice. i am entirely in shock that i actually put together coherent sentences that you could understand. i posted earlier about when rosario told adam about my being out all night- I ALMOST DIED. i was like THEYRE TALKING AbOUT ME (for like 2 seconds but still, come on) i was freaking out. and i dont know, it was just a wonderful experience for me, because i learned that you are all people, and that i won't explode from making eye contact with taye diggs. ( i swear to god he is to hot to even look at, i think i just looked down at the table when he signed my thing--because i was asking idina to sign a picture at the same time, but i was like-- i am not worthy, i am not worthy) it's just in my little brain you guys are the uber celebrity, paris hilton can suck it, i'd take an article about wilson over paris any day. and anthony- i would rather talk to you than have your autograph too, but when the big scary guys that are telling me to hurry up, keep moving, gave me a push it really hurt my feelings. (my mom was like "take your hand off my daughter thats child abuse you oaf." he did.)i had a brief moment of doubt that was like "do they even want to be here? should i have waited in the cold for this?" but then when i got up there and you all were so smiley it was great and i really appreciated it, and i know you made a lot, a lot of people really happy even though it was a fleeting moment. it was so quick that it seemed like a dream. i hope i get to meet you all again some day, and spend more than 3 seconds talking to you. here's hoping that that day comes soon! (maybe the tenth anniversary thingy--my mother is thinking of tickets for christmas) anyway, sorry this was so long, all my posts are long--the approval people probably hate me
love you all,
xoxo
Love Always,
Amanda Sharp
p.s. anthony- my half brother (Keith Pyatt) works at a film and production place, studio 21 i think, or something like that, and he said that he met you and stuff for RENT things or about your book. he told me this and i was freaking out like "WHY DIDNT YOU MAKE HIM CALL ME?!?! YOU KNOW RENT IS MY LIFE! IM YOUR SISTER YOURE SO INCONSIDERATE!" and then he told me that that is sooo unprofessional and irritating to people and blah blah and he would never do that blah blah. which i know is true, but it would have been nice to have been considered. if you ever go back there, and happen to see him, he might ask you an unprofessional question, like calling his little sister. just so you know. and if he doesnt that will really really hurt my feelings- oh well. sorry, this was long too. LOVE YOU!!!
Posted by: Amanda Sharp on 12/10/05 at 09:27 AM
Ahaha adam "They whip candles out of like *nowhere* and say would you light this?" thats so funny! And the hat thing sounds really cute. Idina, you could make your own barbie line! Anthony, penut butter??? ahaha love you guys, this was a halarious blog.

Just watched the blog for the millionth time! It's so CUTE! The cow hats thing was so cute and the " Idina in a Can" was genius! :)

Everyone keeps saying "utterly annoying" and "utterly amazing" i that a pun, or just a coincidence?
Anthony, I totally agree with you, sometimes when I'm bored, I just sit and think about what I would do if I met one of you guys, and I don't really think I would even ask for an autograph. I would just want to tell you guys how much I loved Rent and all that stuff. (Signed books are cool though, I have one from Brian Jacques, even though I've never read any of his books, lol, and one from Amy Goodman, cuz I met her and talked to her once.)
Can you guys post a pic of the cow hats?? That would be awesome.

Ok, since all the requests are coming in, please, please tell us..where are you guys??? we need to be prepared with our candle's, phones, and um. peanut butter jars, just in case we run into them.
Posted by: Jen on 12/10/05 at 12:07 PM
That sounds like some crazy things to sign, but I think if I were ever blessed with the opportunity I'd have to have you sign something. The Broadway show was amazing and so is the movie, I've seen it 5 times now and it never gets old, I still cry every time. Your performances are so moving so I think I would ask to have y'all sign my movie stubs. One for each character. So keep doing what you're doing and thanks for continuely doing the blogs!!!

Yessss! Ohio! Deifintely come here...why would you, though? Hmmmm I'll try to think of a good excuse and get back to ya on that. OR come to Nashville during the school year(that's where I go to college). It'd be my luck for them to come to Ohio during the school year, and then to Nashville over the summer....I would die!

I wish someone would make me my very own "Idina in a Can."
Anthony, if I ever met you, I would let you sign a piece of paper that I keep with me every single day and hug you.
Adam, I would die if you sang into my phone.
Rosario, I saw that on the Today Show. Those ladies in the cow hats. It makes me want to have one of my very own.
Posted by: Carla on 12/10/05 at 02:35 PM
Adam, if I send you a candle will you come to my door and light it for me? Haha! But no, that's brilliant! I never woulda thought of that, that's clever!
<3333 Adam
(And the rest of the cast, don't get me wrong!! hehe)
Guess I'll just have to walk around with a purse full of candles, phones, peanut butter jars, Barbies dressed like Idina, and cow hats!

Idina in a can!!! enough said PS that is actually really cool and smart -and I saw it on your website.
Rosario- I heard about those ladies- awesome

Anthony -
My friend once came up to you and said, "Anthony! Card!" and handed you a card that said:
"Dear Anthony,
You are God.
Love,
Charlie."
We've been making fun of him about it ever since, and for a second there I was hoping you were going to mention it and laugh at him too :)
Posted by: Emma on 12/10/05 at 03:13 PM
Well it didn't moo, but my best friend's midnight showing costume was a full-body Elsie costume. When we entered the San Francisco movie theatre everyone started appluading, taking pictures, and mooing at the cow arm-in-arm with the Mimi. I thought you'd find that amusing :)
Posted by: Emma on 12/10/05 at 03:15 PM
I can't believe people walk around with candles waitng to meet adam! I was hysterically laughing for the longest time!-hmm maybe I should do that???
LOVE you ALL!!! -I'm so sad I just got into rent this year.. I would have so been there at the today show!!
Anyway thanks for the blogs-i'm obsessed

Oh, man... I would be a trembling fan, if I ever got the chance to meet one of you. I'd be, like, burning red and tongue-tied and just generally an idiot, 'cause that's how I work. Or I'd babble on about inconsequential things.
Don't know if I'd ever carry a candle around, though... Maybe I should take it up. XD

Peanut butter jar...that is amazing.
Ahaha, yes, I was shaking when I met you, Anthony. I could hardly take that photo for Jonathan...if I remember right, he was shaking, too :D It was sort of overwhelming. I mean, movie, meeting you, Q&A, and then all that chocolate at the reception. What a day!
What can I say? The shaking happens all the time when I'm meeting someone new. Even if it's someone who isn't in movies or writes. I just start shaking but I always manage to smile, so that's good. XD I met Meg Cabot a few years ago and could hardly speak. I sort of panicked, ahaha.
I also agree on the autograph front. It's a physical object for me to attach a memory to, more than anything else. I don't think that buying things autographed is all that great; I'd rather have a story to go with the signature. I guess that sounds a bit silly. But yes. Signed books are most definately my favorite! But I'm a book nerd, so I suppose that is to be expected :D?
People ask you to light a candle, Adam? I love that! People are so amazing when they love stuff like this.
Rosario - you're so cute. May we see a photo of you in that hat?

Ahhh this blog made me laugh SO hard. We fans are so crazy, huh? Anthony, if I ever meet you in person, I'm SO bringing you a peanut butter jar to autograph...=P And a candle for Adam, oh yeah. Very appropriate, hehe. And "Idina in a can"...I didn't know they had those!! That's so funny...I actually want one of those now. I can't even imagine the amount of stories you have from all your encounters with fans and everything. A big bundle of love, though, or mostly...

Anthony-
I am one of your big fans in Japan. I used to chase you from Japan to New York and to London (not in Tokyo unfortunately). I cannot believe but it was today that I got to know about RENT the movie and that you are in it. I tried to email you but didn't get through... I cannot wait until it comes to Japan "sometimes" next year so I think I should go to see the movie in the U.S. (probably Guam??) next month.
After knowing RENT, I have been working on HIV/AIDS issues til now, both in Japan and overseas. RENT truly showed me the way.
I want to say thank you cuz it's like my dream comes true to see you on screen, especially on RENT. You are the actor I admire the most in my life. I hope to see you sometimes again.
Best, Tomoko

I would have to say that I love this blog but I want to know what Jesse and Wilson though too!!! I love Rent- Rent the movie and Rent the play. Sometimes I wished I stayed in NYC just to be able to get a glimpse of the theatre or maybe be lucky enough to catch a cast member on the street or in a restaurant. It would be hard for me to pull coherent thoughts together to have a conversation. Even though I know they are people just like me. RENT as a whole since 1996 has had such an impact on my life that words can't even begin to describe it. So when the play came to film it was almost like a dream come true!!! I think if I ever got the chance to meet any of the cast members it would nothing but sheer admiration. So if any of you are reading this I probably won't be one of those fans that ask Adam to light a candle or Moo’s and Idina but I can't promise I wouldn't ask clumsily for an autograph and be shaking in just pure awe at the fact that I would finally be meeting someone that represented something that has touched my life in more ways then they will ever know!!! Thanks once again for not pushing away my fellow RENT heads and here's hoping one day I can follow in their footsteps and say that I have met the cast of RENT!!!
I love you all and defiantly can’t wait to get the DVD and see all the cool little extra things it has to offer!!
From a True Believer-living No Day but today!!!

If I saw Adam, I'd be excited, even tho I wouldn't know what to do.. how to approach him... but the whole meeting the cast thing got kinda ruined for me when I met one of the Rogers when the show came to my town.. and he kept paying attention to my roommate (who had never seen the show) instead of me, gushing about what a great job he did and could i get a pic w/him?... lol... it was cool to see the whole cast out at a local bar, later, though!!~
keep the blogs coming, they are appreciated.. and like someone said on this before, even tho I'm not a crraaaazy Renthead, thanks for not getting annoyed by us fans!~ :-)

I saw Rent twice last week and I have to say it changed my life. After seeing the preview in the summertime, I was anxiously waiting for the release of the film, and it was even better than I had anticipated. I know it's been said a million times before but I seriously respect the fact that you guys actually take the time to (in some way) interract with the fans of the show. It also demonstrates the pride you guys have in your work, and in the film. Congratulations on all of your success and I will continue to spread the word about the film to the people I encounter. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful and inspiring show.

I've had so much to catch up on! I just discovered this blog, and it's so funny. What a great way to connect with all your fans (and you guys know there are TONS of them!) I'm a new RENT fan, as I was only eight when the play began, and I saw the movie (three times) and fell in love. I'm set to see it on Broadway soon, and I'm afraid it's becoming an obsession ;) Just wanted to thank all of you for spending so much time reaching out to your fans, and staying true to the real message of the play. The chemistry you all show in the movie is amazing, and it's clear there's a real bond of friendship there. It's great that now a whole new generation of people can be touched by this magical play. So even though it's been said a hundred thousand billion times, THANK YOU- all of you- from all the actors to the directors, crew, and producers, and the diehard fans who have been there all along. I can't be in a bad mood with my RENT soundtrack playing :D What amazing talent from all of you! I can't stop talking about the movie, it's my new addiciton.
Oh and Adam- the second my mom saw you in the theaters she whispered to me, "What a baby doll!" :D

I feel so foolish even posting....as a 44 year old mom, who was once taken in by the broadway production....I am now, a true....rent-head(having seen the movie 4 times, 3 alone...not making my kids proud...lol)...I love all the actors...but more than that, I love the entire representation of who and what these wonderful people are, who they are independently and, more importantly, how they bond as a family....the connection ....we all want(need) to feel so connected, so loved and so inspired....
I encourage my children to see this, to understand it and to believe in it...its what makes living.....fun!!! Congratulations to each of you for bringing to film what us "80's" generation thought would only work in theatre...you did it...and you did it sooo well!!!

I've been a fan of Rent since I saw it in San Francisco in 1999. I had no idea it'll about a month ago that there were so many people who loved it as much as I did. I feel like a part of a family, it's really wonderful. Thank you to all of the Rentheads for making me feel so welcome.
With love,
Heather

I just want to say that I loved the movie soooooo much. I have always been a huge fan of broadway and theartre...and seeing a movie like Rent really helps me look at the world in a different way. I know this might sound creepy... but whenever I'm depressed I just play my Rent CD and sing along at the top of my lungs and I feel ... renewed. The play has so much meaning to me... and even going on this website and watching the video blogs really put "a cherry on top of my day". (that sounds so corney but it's true)
I was also wondering if you could give any advice about pursuing a career in theatre. I've always felt most complete on stage... and it's something I was hoping could be a career. But I understand how difficult it is.
Thanks so much! :)

Idina, you really made my friend Alex's coming out much easier through Maureen. Thank you.
Adam, I will now have to carry a candle around 24/7 in case I bump into you...(in Florida, cause that makes sense, that a huge Broadway star would randomly show up in Tampa...)

Idina: That's so sweet that a fan would do that for you! I wish someone would make little Barbie dolls for me......
Rosario: I saw a picture of you with a cow hat on before I saw this and I was like "What on earth is she wearing?" but now I get it. That's so cute!

These blogs are amazing...I can definitely picture some of my closest friends just losing it if they met one of you guys in person. I would ask for an autograph, but more importantly, I'd thank God just for the opportunity to thank you. Thank you to each and everyone one of you for putting all of yourselves into this production right from the start. And I wish that so many of us could still go back and thank Jonathan. But here goes nothing...Thank you Jonathan for putting together the most unbelievable music and talent on the planet to tell your story. This play and movie has not only entertained, but inspired so many. I cry everytime I see it and it almost seems like I crave more. Its not an understatement to say that this movie has changed people's lives. From people becoming confident in themselves and their beliefs to love itself. This play and everything that it represents are more than just words and music, its a lifestyle that I pray will never be forgotten. From one Rent-head to many others, live life like its meant to be lived, alive. Peace, love and happiness.

I love the mindset of some of the people there. and if it did have a certain siginificance, then what, people think,"oh i'm going to carry around my Sacred Anthony Penut Butter Jar everywhere i go in case i happen to run into him on the street." i love the idea though. and funny, how i would definitely do that adam thing. Rosario, i love how you are accepted so quickly so many fans, i love you, but usually there are so many stubborn people in this world, and i am glad RENTheads are kind and will embrace you as if you were OBC.

Thank you so much for making RENT a movie! The orginal cast recording is amazing, but now the fans who haven't been lucky enough to see the play on Broadway have a visual to relate to. I couldn't have imagined it better! The story of RENT is just so inspiring, I think that anyone who really listens to the message behind the story can relate to it in some way. I can be having one of the worst days and then I think about RENT and what the characters went through and conquered and then I feel like I can conquer the world. I laughed, I cried, it was great! I actually made it a point to watch the movie at the drive in theatre so I could sing along badly and not have people hurl things at my head. It was just amazing. The cast, director, producer, and everyone else involved did an absolutely amazing job and it couldn't have been done better!!! THANK YOU!!!

*laughs hysterically*
I'm going to have to start carrying a candle and matches with me everywhere I go.
What Idina said is totally true. Seeing Maureen up there two years ago is what made my sister comfortable about coming out and it's also what made my dad accept her.
RENT is amazing. I love you guys so much!

The other day i was listening to my satillite radio and just happened to have it on the Broadway Staion and they were playing all RENT and then they had an interview with Adam and Anthony and Anthony was saying how he's find stories of him and Adam online where they're making out or something and Adam's wife walks in...now thats crazy!!!!

i love rent so much....and am probably one of the biggest rentheads ever. my life goal now is to meet one, if not all of the cast members of rent. which would be SO awesome.
i've been listening to the soundtrack ever since it came out; i actually listened to it nonstop today from 8 in the morning up until now (about 5 o clock in the evening).
i saw the movie 3 times before they stopped playing it in most of massachusetts b/c some losers gave it a bad review (which made me SO MAD!) so now im counting the days until it comes out on DVD. you guys wouldn't happen to know when it is coming on DVD would u?
well, i love all of you and the movie is great

I know this has nothing to do with the blog video, but i figure...i got something to say...i should say it...why not here?
I'm a music freak, i love everything and anything that has to do with music. I've been a long time fan of musicals, i grew up with "Les Mis", "Phantom", "Cats", Miss Saigon", "Sound of Music", and so many others. My parents had the records and my older sister and i would listen to them all day, singing and dancing around. As my younger sister got older, she started to ask me to make her CD's with songs from Musicals for her. So that love for musicals has carried on through a few generations, but it's always been the same plays...nothing had really struck me musically for a while. Then came RENT.
I cant remember exactly when or how i heard about Rent, but from that time until now, i have been so into the music, eventhough i had no way to see the play, since i live in Hawaii, i listened to the Original Cast Recording all the time. Fianlly, the play came here in like 2000 i think. But i couldn't afford to go...i was so bummed...to this day..bummed! So the fact that Rent has been made into a movie is just years and years of dreaming for me finally coming true. Not only is most of the original cast in the movie, but the new additions fit in so PERFECTLY. what more (short of going back in time and being in NY) could i ask for? I finally got to SEE Rent, and i'm so nuts about it. It had a short run in theaters here, but i was able to go 3 times, and i think it's going to be in the $1 theater soon (where movies go when they're about to go on DVD)..so i plan on going again and again until the DVD. I cant express how much this movie means to me. Not only because i've wanted to see Rent for so long, but it because it really touched something in me. I cant even explain what that is, but when you have an amazing story from an amazing mind like Jonathan Larson's, i believe that the only way to tell it is through music, because music touches something in everyone. Jonathan Larson put so much Passion and happienss and sadness and love into the music of Rent that you can feel the songs. Even if you cant relate directly to the topic like AIDS or poverty, the emotions of the songs and characters evoke personal memories and emotions in all of us, and i feel that, those people who truely open their hearts to the music and the story are the people who really fall in love with Rent. That's why i did. Like i said, i cant explain it, just like i cant explain love. But Rent has touched my life, and it makes me smile. I've gone through some hard things in the past few years, and music has gotten me through alot of it...especially the music of Rent. So thank you to EVERYONE in the movie and everyone who made this movie possible, so i could finally see a picture of the songs that touched my heart.
I dont know if any of the cast still reads this but if you do...
Idina Menzel - Im a HUUUGGGE fan, i love you, You're amazing! Maureen is a role for us lesbians, she teaches us to live fully, love who you love, dont appologize for who you are, and just LIVE! Maureen teaches women to be strong and live for what you believe in. You make it possible for Maureen to inspire us. Idina...your voice lifts my heart, my spirits, and my soul. You're an inspiration! Truely amazing! Come to Hawaii! Wish i could see your new show. Keep amazing us with that inspiring voice! Wicked is WICKED!
Jesse L. Martin - Being a LONG time Law and Order fan (Angie Harmon days)..ok not that long...but still. I love you so much as an actor. Getting to see you playing your part as Tom Collins was such a treat. I'll Cover You (Reprise)...words cannot express! I love your smile! So keep smiling Jesse!
Rosario Dawson - All i can say is awesome! I love your voice! You just became Mimi. I cant say you're better or worse than Daphne Rubin-Vega, you're right along side her...same stuff, different flavor..ya know? Truely amazing!
Tracie Thoms - I love your energy in all of your interviews. You fit Joanne, and you play her so strong and "together", yet you can see her soft side, and how her love for Maureen breaks through her strong exterior...so awesome! I didn't see the play, so as far as i can see, you are Joanne and i dont see anything that could make Joanne any better than you made her. AMAZING!!
Anthony Rapp - You are Mark...you're so expressive in your role, you can see how much Rent is a part of you and how much you connect with the story. It's so hard to explain, in simple terms....you're amazing!
Adam Pascal - I cant see Roger being played by anyone else. You bring so much emotion to his character, i can feel what Roger is feeling every moment. From an audience view point, if you can entrap us in the work...you've done your job...and to me, it's not easy to do. You're awesome!
Wilson Jermaine Heredia - I love your emotion and attatchment that you have to Rent. I can tell by the way you (and Anthony) talk in interviews that you know exactly why people fall in love with Rent, and it has touched you as much as it has touched us. You make that possible. Without Angel, without YOU. Rent cannot be Rent. You bring so much love and acceptance into the story. Angel is who she is, and is always happy and smiling. I feel that Angel teaches us that, you live life to the fullest and you be who you are and be happy everyday, even if your life is cut short. There's no regrets.
Taye Diggs - You own that Character, you know exactly who he is, what motivates him. What a great voice as well! You can totally "see" Benny...and i dont think anyone else could show us Benny the way you do. I love it!
Chris Columbus - There's nothing that could have made this movie any better. Thank you for giving people like me the oppertunity to expirience Rent the way it was meant to. True to Jonathan Larson and true to everything and everyone that is Rent.
Mahalo & Aloha!

Haha I don't know how pathetic this is but my friend and I can't stop quoting the songs. We've come together due to the musical and this movie just brought us so much closer together. You guys are the best. The show was amazing and you guys did such a good job of portraying the characters of the original broadcast version. Love you guys!

Well, I don't know if any of you will actually read this(and I don't want to come off as an annoying fan because I'm not,I'm just a true Renthead and really have a passion for the story.), but I just wanted to say that you all are the most talented group of people out there. I have watched Rent (the movie) 5 times, and can't wait to buy it on DVD. Adam, I bought both of your albums and am in love with them. Your voice is amazing, and you have true, undeniable talent, I <3 you! Rosario, of all the other people I've heard play the role of Mimi, you are absolutely my favorite, you are amazing.I will be performing 'Out Tonight' and just hope to be able to do it half as well as you! Anthony, we tremble because we love you all! I'm sure if I ever got the chance to meet any/all of you I wouldn't know what to do, I would stammer like an idiot and not be able to say what I want to say. There are just so many questions I wish I could ask all of you, and so many things I'd like to say. I guess I'll have to keep watching these video blogs, and give up the dream of meeting all of you.
No Day But Today
love <3,

Hi RENT cast! You did it! :D All I have to say is that I was truely touched and I cried durring the movie, especially the "Without You" sequence... very moved... I got chills when I saw the character I want to play on broadway fade away first in the life support meetings (Gordon). I don't know exactly why, but I did. You all were amazing, and I thought it was really awesome to see a current RENT cast member play the waiter... that was cool! Oh Idina, I loved Over the moon! That was the most hillarious part in the film! Anthony, you were awesome as Mark! I feel truly blessed to see your performance of Mark. Kudos! Adam, thank you for an awesome Roger! Great work! Tracie, WOW! You were once a RENThead just like the countless others and myself included, and you are now in the film! OMG! That gives me hope and I look up to you! I know for sure that I will be in the broadway show someday! Rosario, I never knew you could sing! VERY BEAUTIFUL! Jesse, I absolutely loved "Santa Fe" That dance number in the subway train car was cool! Jermaine, You were awesome! "Today 4 U" was spectacular! Awesome job! Taye, you did great as Benny, although you didn't sing as much as you do in the stage version I did like your take on the more spoken version of Benny, good job! Chris Columbus, WOW you are a genius! Just, WOW! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!

I am so sad that this is over! You were all fantastic! It is so hard to pick my favorite character. Allthough I do have to say Angel (Wilson Jermaine Heredia) was an awesome character you did such a good job with it! I love all of you guys!
Before I saw Rent I didnt know anything about it I knew it was a musical...and I also knew it wasnt your everyday average musical... but after I saw it I had so much more respect for those kinds of people...I mean I did before but after I saw it I couldnt say anything I was just speechless... I just thought "wow, this is what they have to go through?" and I just thought that the movie it self was one of the BEST movies I have ever seen! I just want to say Thank You for everything you have done!

hi, i'm another rent-head and wicked lover [who supports idina all the way!! woo!]
i dont want to annoy my friends about my rent-frenzie, but ive been inspired by idina to become a broadway actess. i've set my my college goal to go to julliard [and i'm only 12!] and i'm currently working as hard as i can to save up money for voice lessons and to produce my voice the best that i can. i just want idina to know that she has inspired me so much, and i have no idea where i'd be without her. her music just blow me away and whenever i hear her voice, i always find myself singing along! [but then again i feel bad because my voice isnt NEARLY as wonderful as hers!]

Absolutely Amazing play. I've only seen the movie so hopefully I could somehow catch a flight and watch it on stage. All of you on the cast are just undeniably talented and, even though there are no over-the-counter-drugs for Tone Deafness, your passion made me want to jump on a table and sing La Vie Boheme. Hah yah, that would've been something to see at an all girls private school, "To sodomy, it's between God and me, to S&M!" But honestly I loved the play and all that it stood for [Understatement]. Goodluck to all of you on upcomming auditions/ events!!

I really enjoyed the characters Roger, Maureen, Joanne and Angel, but the others were great as well!!!! Whenever I feel down, cause I'm having some problems, I can always watch or listen to Rent and it makes me happy!! I've been listening to Adam Pascal's music, you got some good stuff there, I like it!! Adam you seem like such a nice guy and I would love to meet you but I live in Canada and I'm kinda shy, but maybe!!!! You other Rent actors are great as well, you are all cool!!! I have a question do you like being on such a one on one internet relationship with your fans?? I think it is very cool, you all are great people and great actors, keep up the awesome work!! You're probably all tired of reading this for the billionth time, but I love RENT. Everything about it is astronomically AMAZING!
I have to go have dinner [parents getting mad], but I'm used to them being mad by now of my neverending love and obsession over RENT.
It is such a touching story with such heart and soul, its undeniably irresistable.
The is a new addition to my collection [vought the day it came out] and both the OBC recording and the movie soundtrack dont leave my boom box.
THe lyrics to "Seasons of Love" never stop rushingt hrough my head. I love everything about it. Mimi and Riger's relationship inspires me to find someone one day {sans the drug addictions and HIV).
Adam, Anthony, Jesse, Wilson, Taye, Idina, Tracie, Rosario, Chris, entire cast (broadway- Daphne and Freddi)--- Sincerley THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THE HAPPINESS YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME!!
ITs all amazing! THANK YOU JONATHAN LARSON!!

I'd never have the audacity to come up to any of you guys, though! I'd be so nervous!
Wow... I never get sick of watching the little video blog things; it may sound a bit creepy, but it's like an insight that nobody else sees (even though it's fairly obvious other people see it). I dunno, I'm just out of my gourd...

Tracie I am pretty sure you are honestly my favorite actress, and there couldn't have been a better pick for the part of Joanne and there should have NEVER been a doubt in their mind on who should have played that part. You have the most amazing voice I have EVER heard, and it's absolutely amazing the emotions you can bring to people through your voice. And what I find to be even more amazing is that even though I truely think you are the most amazing performer ever, you seem to be an even more amazing person. Incredible job babe, I will definitely be looking forward to seeing you in future roles.

I feel so left out. I am soo new at being A rent head and i can't believe that i never found this site until after the movie was released.
I love the characters of Mimi, Collins, Angel, and Roger they are my favorite and I can relate to them. Sorry for not finding this site soon enough.

People actually carry candles around? I mean, personally, I don't find much need to carry a candle around. If I ever am lucky enough to meet Adam in person, I highly doubt I would just happen to have a candle in my back pocket which I could whip out. Ditto with the cereal box and peanut butter jar--does everyone else just carry around these items in their daily lives? Because I don't carry them around... hmm, I wonder why someone would want Anthony's name next to something that says "hydrogenated soybean oil."
Well, it's settled. Tonight I will place little birthday candles in all the back pockets of my jeans so that I will be prepared when I meet Adam.
Wait...what happens when you put candles through the washer?

hey adam, anthony, rosario, idina, tracie, taye, and of course wilson!!
i can't believe i didn't find this site sooner!!!:-(
in my school's choir, we sang a RENT medley and the night of the performance, our conductor was crying, the audience was crying, and even we were crying! during "Will I" our conductor was sobbing like crazy!
we received a standing ovation, as well.
all I could think at the end was,
Thank you Jonathon Larson
I was never a broadway musical person (always musical, just not on stage...way too scared...) until this year, when i was introduced to rent, i fell in love with It and fell in love with the cast. i'm definatly getting into broadway more, now!
i must say, i can't stop listening to the movie soundtrack and the broadway soundtrack, and also the "best of" soundtrack!
the music is so beautiful, but once you get past that and you listen to the lyrics, i get chills. listening "without you," "will I," "Goodbye Love," and Finale A/"your eyes," i cry. then i listen to finale B and can't help but smile!
i was singing "light my candle" with my best guy friend and i've never felt so relaxed singing. i am only comfortable singing RENT songs.
this was a MAJOR impact on my life and my friends. it has introduced me to a new chapter in my life:starting plays and getting rid of stage fright! thank you to the cast of rent!! i have no favorites because you are all inspiring!
thank you Jonathon Larson
***thank you***

OMG, if I ever got to meet one of the RENT cast, I'd
A)Faint
B)Die of embarrassment (no, I cannot spell)
C)Ask for all kinds of stuff signed.
D)Tell my friends, they all hve HUGE crushes on everyone in the cast.
I know all of the cast's life stories (they're hanging up in my room) and I think it's soooooo cool that (most of) the original cast came back to do the movie (which came out on my birthday)
and Anthony Rapp~YOUR BOOK ROX!!!and sry about your mom, she seemed like a great person.
so, if ANY of the RENT cast sees this, E-mail me at Supasinger94@aol.com
I hope to be like all of you someday!!!
***XOXO***

OMG OMG OMG!! ok, i don't mean to sound crazy, but i started squealing when adam started talking. and i sarted to tremble. and then i started breathing weird. and then the clip was over, so i had to watch it again. if i met any of you on the street i would like colapse and be on the ground shaking and like going insane. you'd need to send me to the hospital (but not before signing anything that i happened to have with me).
i loved rent so much that i wrote an essay about it for school!! it was very moving and i loved it.
my friend and i are gonna sing 'take me or leave me' for a talent show so it will be awesome!!
go rent heads,
viva la vie boheme,
and thx to the cast!!

If I were to see you in the street one day I would die! I would probably scream and run at you and most likely be sweating and shaking and looking for something that you could sign! I might even bombard someone who looks vaugly similar to you! When I go to New York I will definantly be on the lookout and if you see a short tan girl with dark brown hair screaming at you you will most definantly know its Nina! And When I go to New York I will also be carrying a whole bunch of items around for you to sign...lets see a candle, a rent hat, a shirt, my stuffed zebra, my pillow case, my Rent soundtrack and CD player and Ill carry it in this big tote back just looking out for Wilson, or Adam, or Anthony, or Idina! Or even someone I might recognize from the chorus or that was in the background! Where do you guys go all summer! If you dont have any plans go to NYC June 19-23 ;) XD! I LOVE YOU GUYS SOOO MUCH!

I just thought you guys should know, i bet you hear a lot of stories people telling you how great your are, but my kids ages 6 (girl), 4 (boy) and 18 months a boy, LOVE your movie they've seen it over 10 times in the 3 weeks i've had it, I think this is great, i'm very my kids accepting everyone for who they are, and with my dad being gay helps them understand a little more how usual that is, my daughter's favorite is mimi she now is everything about mimi, my 4 year old love the seasons of love song, and my 18month old love angel, and the today "today for you tomorrow for me" he even gets up and pretends like he is hitting pipes on the celling, but i'm sure they are not your youngest fans but they love you guys so thanks again !!!

I loved the movie RENT! It was the best movie I ever saw. I loved everyone in the movie and they all had great voices. My favorite part was the stripper scene, I love the song and Rosario did a great job! Adam and Rosario looked like a good couple! I also loved "Tango:Maureen." It was the best movie I ever seen in my whole life! Wilson and Jesse were great and it was really sad when Angel died. I was crying!
Rosario, Adam, Wilson, Jesse, Anthony, tracie, and Idina you all did such a great job on the movie!
