Taye Diggs is great. I wish they showed more of him in the movie.

I love all these clips...except they make me wanna see the movie again. Which is very bad for my wallet.

RENT is amazing, i can't stop listening to the songs, i think im growing on an obsession...anyways, reading all your blogs you all seem like such amazing people, its honestly an inspiration, i hope to get into the film/theater business someday and you and this movie have served as hope for me

I've been unfortunate to have never had the chance to see a stage production of RENT but I just wanted to let anyone and everyone know that the film was fantastic. Thank you to all who were involved in making this movie because you're all wonderful. :) I'm definitely going to see it again at the theatre and the soundtrack has been playing non-stop... I'm hooked.

i saw the movie last night, and it was incredible, everyone was incredible, but i honestly couldn't stop watching you.. you are truly amazing.
i am in love with anyone who ever plays mark in rent, but i must say that you are my favorite. my friends wanted to kill me because, the whole movie, i kept saying "I LOVE HIMMMMMMM!"
and i also thought you should know that i am not the only one, because i have had numerous fights over you. so keep being incredibly awesome! <3

I have been checking this blog ever since it went up...I've only posted once though...working doesn't leave much time to write as much as I would've liked. I never considered myself a 'renthead' simply because I live in the midwest and couldn't line up outside the Nederlander for days at a time, but I did manage to see the show several times in NYC and it has had a profound impact on my life...which is what I'm sure you hear from many many people. I've seen the movie 3 times already and will probably see it more...its a beautiful work, you ALL should be so proud. It wouldn't have been the same without the majority of the original cast. I absolutely love each and every one of you and I have seen several of you in other productions in NYC and have the upmost respect for you. By the way, Adam...I own both of your CDs and they rock...congrats to you. THANK YOU...ALL OF YOU...for coming back together and bringing RENT to life on the bigscreen for the world to see. You did not disappoint. Thank you, Jonathan Larson for your dream, your vision and your belief in RENT. Congratulations Adam, Idina, Wilson, Jesse, Traci, Rosario, Anthony, Taye and everyone else who worked so hard bringing RENT to life. Godspeed to all of you.

Taye Diggs gives a stellar performance in this. I love the way he balences and jumps around the street curb.

I have seen the movie only 2 times so far. That is good for me because I cant drive yet. This is the best movie ever made. If you dont cry when you see this there is something wrong with you. If you dont laugh there is something wrong with you. Rent is filled with just about every emotion possiable. Great job! This movie rocks.

By the way, I was able to see the movie for the second and third time in Your hometown Taye! (Rochester. I was visiting my family, but I'm originally from there too!). I saved all the articles from the local newspaper that came out at the time! It was pretty cool.

Adam-You made my heart skip a beat with every bit of emotion that you put into each of your scenes! Rodger has always been a favorite character of mine, and I can't think of anyone that could play him better than you.

Idina-You're beautiful, and as always, you played the role perfectly. You lit up the screen just by being there! Its obvious that when you were doing this movie, you got into the role, because you can see and feel Maureens emotions just by looking into your eyes. Great job!

Wilson- It's hard to describe how wonderful your performance was. You won't be suprised to hear that I cried my eyes out when Angel died of course...no one could do it better! *mwa*

Jesse-What a voice!! Your voice is SO amazing! With every note you tell the listener EXACTLY what you're feeling. An AMAZING talent. You can bring a person to tears with one note! Congrats!

Traci-I'M SO PROUD OF YOU! I know how wonderful it must feel to have had a chance to be in the RENT cast after being a fan of the show yourself, but it must feel even BETTER to know that you played it PERFECTLY!! I'm so proud of you! You give the rest of us "RENTheads" reason to keep dreaming. We love you!

Rosario- You took my breath away. I'm proud of you too! Its hard to describe exactly how I felt during each of your scenes. You played a powerful role, and you played it so that everyone in the audience could feel what Mimi felt, as if we were going through the same thing. Brilliant.

Anthony-Who could play Mark better than you? You will always be the actor I think of when I think of Mark. Mark feels alone throughout most of the movie, and it's something we can all relate to...but you brought it into a whole new light, and through Mark you taught a lot of people how to help and keep close to their friends. What would we do without you? Bravo!

Taye-It's funny to watch a movie/play in which you play someone that is supposed to be the "bad guy.' You played it well, and yet many of us came out of the theatre loving you anyways. You're such an amazing actor! Thank goodness for your blog entries and videos, or some people might never know how darn cool and funny you are!! Congrats! You were wonderful!!

Fan-freaking-tastic in the movie. I've seen it twice and SOBBED both times. This entire cast is just... there are no words.

He did awesome in this movie. When I became a Renthead I was shocked that Taye Diggs had been in broadway. He has great vocals. This was great for him. Go Taye! "You'll see the beauty of a studio, which lets us do our work and get paaaaid." Woo hoo. I'll be at the theater to see all of you Rent Stars again in about 9 hours. Great Job.

PS- To Wilson- Man, you slay me. Seriously, now I know why you won the Tony. I cannot stop telling people how amazing you are. You weren't only acting, you became Angel. All the mannerisms, all the little adorable attributes that made me squirm with glee on the theater floor... they added so much to the movie as a whole. Angel is obviously the character that needs to touch people the most; he embodies love, and even after his death, his spirit is what eventually drives that little group back together again. You succeeded in making every audience I've seen love you. So much. So many people tearing up as she's dying so beautifully. And that end shot of the movie, of only Angel; that made me choke, and sob 10 times harder. Kudos to you and your brilliance. You inspire me to levels I didn't even think I could be inspired to. I love you!

This is an absolutely fantastic movie! There are very few movies I would pay a whopping $8.50 three times to see, and this is one. I am absolutely blown away every time I see the movie, listen to the soundtrack, or even watch the trailer time after time. You've done a fantastic job, and you should all be so proud of what you've accomplished. You've brought the story to life for a mid-western girl who doesn't have the chance to go see the show on stage. Thank you for that.

                                      Anthony, you are my absolute favorite actor in the show, and you play the most fantastic character. I've read your posts here and I see how you relate to Mark and bring him to life. I loved all your video posts and laughed through the tours of the set and such. I feel like I know you just watching you on screen. I'm disappointed that I will not get the opportunity to meet you or see you or any of the cast members in person; but I am thrilled to hear about your upcoming book. I cannot wait to read it. Wow is all I have to say. I've seen the movie three times so far and I can honestly say it is the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. The entire cast was incredible. Shoutouts to the cast if they read this, and I hope they do!!!

Idina: You have been my idol forever! It's thanks to you that I even got into Rent. I was a huge HUGE wicked fan and by looking up more on my idol, you, I learned about this AMAZING show. You were so incredible in the movie and my only regret is I never got to see you perform any of it live! You are so perfect, I hope you know how many people (including myself) love you and respect (even if we've never even see you or met you)

Anthony: I love you. You (and Norbert Leo Butz) are the two most amazing men in the WORLD. Your voice makes me melt and you are hilarious. I hope I can see you in person one day. You did an amazing job in Rent and I think you are incredible. MARRY ME.

Adam: It's thanks to you that all my non-Renthead friends actually came to see the movie with me, because you're, in short, really hot. =). You have an incredible voice and you totally blew me away with your acting. I was bawling my eyes out the entire time you sang Your Eyes and when you finally sang 'Mimi' at the end, I just lost it. You are totally amazing.

Rosario: You were incredible! Igrew up knowing you from Josie and the Pussy Cats so it was so awesome knowing that you were going to be in Rent. I was blown away by your amazing voice! I don't think anyone could have replaced the role of Mimi better than you did and it was amazing hearing you sing for the first time!

Jesse: Wow. From 'Merry Christmas, bitches" to singing I'll cover you (reprise), you were totally perfect for the role. No one made me cry more than you at Angles funeral and then "I can't believe he's gone, I can't believe your going" and that whole section, I totally lost it then. You are an amazing singer and I, again, wish I could have seen you live!

Tracie: WOW! You can seriously sing! I guess you already knew that, though. When I read you auditioned for the show 5 times and didn't get it I almost blew up at the casting company (not like I know them). I can't imagine anyone else in the role of Joanne but you. You fit the part perfectly and your singing, and tango-ing of course was fabulous!

Wilson: OH MY GOD. you were absolutely positively amazing. You were amazing singing, dancing, and acting... and you were HILARIOUS. I cracked up when you were hitting the lock off with a trash can and Collins: you're drunk you: no, im not and at the life cafe waiter: fine, fine just dont move any tables together you: hey, lets move these tables together! I think you are incredibly talented and I wish I could see you live sometime!!!

and last but most definitely not least
Taye: you were great!!!! i wish you were more in the movie but still parts you were in happen to be stuck in my head more than parts you weren't in. I loved You'll See... it's so catchy and you're such an amazing singer! I knew you, before Rent, from the movie Chicago when I started freaking out when I realized you were married to my idol (idina, yeah I guess you knew that) =). Then I started learning more about you and I think you are a totally amazing and telented performer!

I loved this scene! I only wish they had kept the part at the end where Angel's talking about Roger, and she's like "We'll see, boys!" and Collins sings "I like boys" and Angel sings "Boys like me"... I thought that was hysterical from the cast album.

I just have to say that after seeing the movie 4 times the first day it was released and 5 times so far in the theater how much I love the movie! I'm already anxiously awaiting the DVD release.

I love how Taye starts laughing after he finds out Maureen turned lesbian. Not only is it cute, but it shows that Benny was/is still friends with Mark and Roger, something that wasn't really apparent on stage. And it made me smile ^_^

Taye, I wish you sang more in this movie. I love your voice. I love your character in RENT, but I can understand why you sometimes felt "left out", because Benny was the antangonist. I hope there is an extended edition of RENT on the DVD version, and I hope you are in more of the movie. You'll See is one of my favorite parts of the movie, and everyone who saw the movie was very impressed with your singing voice. Come do a show on Broadway soon!

This is so amazing. The whole cast is amazing. One of the things that makes it work so well, I think, is the original setting. Jesse and Wilson are really comfertable with each other, and it shows through SO!! FANTASTICALLY!!!!!!! in "I'll Cover You", which makes me sooo happy. I'm sure all the other Rentheads agree that a knew adjective needs to be made up to describe RENT. There are no words for my feelings, and i really dont think i can express this any better, especially not online. ;-)

Taye, you are the absolutest most perfect Benny ever...when you laugh, I just have to start laughing with you, it's so infectious that it's impossible not to. And you made me really feel bad for Benny and sympathize at the same time as I was dislking him. I wish you had gotten more screen time, but what you had was freaking awesome. And you're hilarious in the start of "You'll See"...ahaha *starts laughing again*

I love this movie sooooo much! I have seen it 3 times in the movie theatres. I cant get enough of this movie! I wish that Taye Diggs sang in more of the songs though, he has a beautiful voice!

I also think that Taye was amazing as Benny-- He has an amazing voice and his whole persona on screen/ stage fits the character really really well... But I feel like in the play, he had a much bigger role... does anyone know why his part got shrunken? :(
