(Side note to Anne-Inger -- I named my hard drive Angel Schunard last year, and was horrified when it up and died on me. My roommate said it was my own fault for naming my computer as such. When I got my new computer [and wiped out my savings account], I immediately named him Mark Cohen -- and while he gets bitter and angsty sometimes, he's still alive and kicking. True story, and one I feel that only people who would frequent a blog such as this would appreciate.)

Angel is such a great character. My dad took me to see RENT at the Nederlander as a graduation present, and all he knew about it was that I adored it and the sort of overview I gave him. I wasn't really sure he was going to like it; he's very much not a theatre person, and he's a very, very Republican man. So I was greatly surprised to see that he was crying all through Angel's funeral. When I asked him about it, he replied "Angel and Collins were the only couple in the show who were completely open and honest with each other. They really loved each other, and I was thinking how selfish the other couples were being as they were yelling 'it's over,' and then Collins said 'it's over,' and Angel was gone, I couldn't help crying."

I thought I should share that story, because it just goes to show how powerful RENT really is. My dad is so conservative, and yet it wasn't the straight couple he favored, but the two men, Angel especially. (He also told me he got teary eyed when Collins made "Angel" the code to the ATM)

Hopefully, this movie will have the same affect on others like my dad, bring the message of acceptance of all love across a nation that is so bitterly divided over issues like gay marriage.

Anyway, that got longer and more political than I had intended, so I'll just say "Wonderful job, everyone!" and be done.

I saw this video this morning when I got up and was soooo upset when the comment site was down so I could not blab about how excited I was to catch the new one. I love this clip!!! The choreography and timing in Angel's scene is perfect for the song! I have been really happy with the outcome of these last few clips so far. They are just looking great and I can't wait to get all of my friends together to see it opening day.

Seriously.

Every shot of Angel in this clip was so painfully tantalizing, and I love how they embrace every facet of your character. Not only are you gorgeous both in and out of drag, your face just depicts emotions so, so well.

My favorite shot, I think, was the one of you sitting alone, without makeup, playing the drums. Such passion... it shows that Angel's a person, not only the drag queen everyone who hasn't seen the show assumes him to be. Sure, that's a gigantic part of who he is, but there are so many other parts, too, like his music and his sweetness. I cannot wait to see how the movie embraces all of them.

We came to c the play "RENT" back in August 30,1997, WOW! I can't believe that was 8 yrs ago. But I wanted to say when I first saw u in "RENT" I thought u were great and amazing person. When u played the character of "ANGEL" I was just blown away by ur performance, don't get me wrong the others were great too. But something about ur character really touched my heart. I cried when u did ur solo "CONTACT" it was so moving and touching.
I was hoping someday they were either going to release a dvd of either the play or make a movie. I'm so happy that they decided to go make a movie of it. Mayb the w/end b4 the movie comes out I will go n c the play again. I know u won't b there to
play ur character but I can just picture u there.
I'm sorry that I can't make it to the Virgin Megastore in Time Square in NYC to c u once again. But I want 2 wish u much success in life. dud e you guys all rock. RENT ROCKS PERIOD!!!!! anyways well i know this movie is gonna kick ass and i can't wait to see it. i just saw the musical this last summer in new york and it rocked. i bet this will be alot better.

Angel is the greatest! I cannot wait to see RENT!!! My musical theatre class is doin a musical revue and I'm performing Today 4 U! Hope I do as you! Ya look great Wilson! Keep that beautiful smile and I'll see ya on the big screen!

Okay ok, here I am on the bloggiest most beautiful site eva!

I love this one more than anything! Angel is my favorite character in the play or movie! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the REAL Angel (aka WJH) when I went to see the play
(all 5 times...) Isn't that a shame??!

But I made up for that by seeing the movie 10 times! ^_^ Yeah, I'm crazy. And I'll tell you now, I did cry the first 5 times!

Pathetic aren't I? But I like to use the term... Passionate.

lol.

The other 5 times I still teared up! @_@
But oh well, it's worth having a headache and ruined eyeliner!

That's just how gorgeous the movie is!
Every showing was worth every cent I spent, and more! ^_^

I Loved the video, but it was kind of short. It makes me wanna see the rent movie for the 5th time!

lol I'm still laughing because I fell off my chair on another clip... hehehe. Anyway..
I love this clip. I was at school in the computer lab, and I was watching this clip over and over again, and the guy sitting beside me kept telling me to stop playing it, so I told him to stop playing HIS song over and over again, then we fought about who should shut up til the teacher came and told us BOTH to shut up... Such a compassionate teacher. lol

At the risk of sounding like a preteen fangirl with an unhealthy obsession with Rent...

OMG Wilson you are so freaking awesome Angel is one of my favorite characters. I saw Rent 8 or 9 times on DVD and 4 times in the theaters for a total of 13 times=13 viewings of Today 4 U (had to go pretty much across the state of MA too...) loved you every time. I got all the dance moves to Today 4 U memorized. Oh and this has been said before but you can dance better in boots than I can in any kind of anything. Me n my sister are in luv wit u cuz u are so freaking hott...Well luv ya from Z and K
