Thank you for hiring the original cast, that means so much to the fans. In my opinion, they are the heart and soul of Rent and always will be (Tracie and Rosario are fabulous in their roles as well)
And, thank you for the way you translated this to film, it was just perfect.

Oh wow, I'm so excited about this movie. However, why isn't that scene sung like it is in the origional show? It works, either way, I suppose.
I'm so excited about this movie. I'm kinda bummed, though, there's not a midnight showing of it in Oklahoma city! It kinda makes me want to cry. Oh well.
Anthony Rapp, you're my hero.

I saw the film last night at the local movie theatre and was jumping up and down in my seat! It was amazing!!!!!! I laughed and sobbed like a baby. One of my former acting students passed away on friday of heart failure and it really makes you remember how delicate life is. Johnathan would be so proud that his legacy went on. I actually met Anthony Rapp in a master class in college and am glad to see that his dream to get this on film really happened. CONGRATULATIONS ALL OF YOU FOR GETTING THIS AMAZING FILM WITH SUCH IMPORTANT ISSUES OUT ON THE SILVER SCREEN FOR ALL TO SEE!

I can't NOT comment...the movie comes out TOMMAROW!! It's such an amazing film...and I really wish I could commute to NYC to at least see if there are any cast members floating around. Anthony-- you're fantastic!! Just in the way you react to Idina's kiss (which is well done..you darn beautiful woman)...you can see the "Tango:Maureen" start to sweep you away for a second there...before my woman Tracie breaks up the love fest. And the girl I babysit (Max) wanted to watch this clip about 20 times so she could see Wilson...she's so obsessed with the Angel character! Did I mention that I love Tracie??

It's the 22nd!!! Rent comes out on the 23rd, which is tomorrow!!!" Great job u guys. It's nice to see what goes on in the movie when you guys aren't singing. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!!!! I would say, "no day but today" but really, I just want today to be over, so I can see it!!!!

Tracie, Anthony, and Wilson (and everyone else!) -

I saw the premiere in Baltimore last night, and I just have to say, being able to see the film with the three of you there just completely blew my mind! I have been obsessed with RENT since I first heard about it in 1997. I was introduced to the show by a friend who passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly in November 1997, and since then I have associated RENT with him. He was the kind of person who completely embodied the message of RENT - he really believed in "No Day But Today". Seeing the film last night, with the cast in the audience, almost 8 years to the day of my friend's death, was such a moving and powerful experience. Thank you so much for making the Baltimore premiere possible and for being so nice and accomodating when I (and about 100 other people!) bombarded you asking for autographs. Best of luck to all you of in the future - Liz

Well, today 4 U, tomorrow for me anyway. :)
I had to, it called to me.

I'm loving this clip. I'm just totally in love with Anthony! He's so cute! I am absolutely ecstatic about this movie. I'm squirming in my seat just watching the clip and thinking about it. My fellow RENT-heads and I are seeing the second show tomorrow. We're dressing up. It's going to rock.

A huge huge thank you to the wonderful cast, crew, and of course Mr. Chris Columbus for bringing our musical to the screen. How're we ever going to repay you? lol.

VIVA LA VIE BOHEME!

Posted by: Stephenie on 11/22/05 at 07:22 PM

Cast,
Well, its tomorrow. You guys have come a LONG way! I am so so so excited to see it. My goal is to be one of the first in Columbus to see it! Like that will ever happen. But my frineds Ali and Emily are going with me and we're making merchandise and everything. I think we will be the only ones in the theater knowing exactly whats going on (we will be able to prove this, because we will probably have to be "shushed" because we won't be able to keep from singing our hearts out. I know I won't. I know I am going o have such an erge to stand up and do the ENTIRE "Over the Moon" scene (NO JOKE). Last night I had a dream...I won't do it now, I'll save it for tomorrow. Anyway I just want to thank you guys so so so much for everything. You have given me something to look forward to and I am so excited. You give people gifts every day and that is so important to me. You have my support, and I am hoping to be sobbing by the end of tomorrow night! Thank you so much again! You are my idols!!!

Love and support from Columbus,
RENThead Maya
P.S. Happy Turkey Day to all!

There is a guy in real life whom the character
"Mark Anthony" is based on--his name is Paul Garrin, who among other things is known for
breaking the story on the infamous Tompkins Square
Park Police Riot that took place in 1988 in the
East Village. Paul became known as the
"Man with a Video Camera", and could be seen
carrying his video camera with him everywhere,
often finding himself videotaping the police
and the many riots that went down in the East
Village during the 80's and early 90's.

A truly moving experience. Thank you.

Also to megan / brooke s:
I have also found inspiration and gained wisdom from RENT. My prayers are with you.

I LOVED this scene in the movie [and the whole movie of course]. Especially when he goes, fine but don't move the tables! And immediately someone says "Let's push these tables together." That cracked me up.

Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.

Anthony I can tell from the interviews I've seen with you that you are the heart of this project. You remind me of myself when i loved everyhting about a production i put on once and i never wanted it to end. I'm sure Jonathon Larson smiles down at you every day.

RENT brings back so many memories for my friends and I we've been a rentheads since ... high school, 97. Back then broadway was just a dream and for some of them now it's a reality or soon- to- be reality.

Thank you all for living the dream, you allow us all to keep reaching for ours.

******You were the song along********

Forever your fan,
Danielle-Katrina

I just came home from the movie and it was absolutely amazing. I was really worried that I would be disappointed after my experiences seeing the show on-stage, but I have never felt so immersed in a movie in my entire life. Your performances pulled me into the film, you captured the emotional essence of the show on film forever and I couldn't be happier and more thankful for the amazing amazing amazing performance that will be watched by future generations. Thank you, I loved it so much, I love it so much.

Anthony,
I have been a rent supporter and maybe even activist(if the word can fit) for the past 7 years. It is something that has changed me more than ever in my short life of about 20 years. I love the words, the acting, but most of all I love the charge behind the story. Through following rent and seeing you and the cast on some talk shows I just feel like you are very much for the meaning behind the story which makes everything that the show has meant to me in these past years SOOO much more meaningful. Thank you so much for your talent, your dedication, and just who you are!

I just came home from the movie. I was moved to tears. Just effing brilliant.

But more importantly, those pants you wore in La Vie Boheme, Anthony. That's what I'm talking about.

AHH! To Classic! I loved the movie -- it was great -- I love the way that even though it wasn't sung - you could feel it being sung!! The "Oh Yeah" & "KaPow!" was great. Idina & Tracie have possibly the most amazing onscreen chemistry I've ever seen!

Posted by: Becky on 11/27/05 at 12:49 PM

idina i love you!!! you are sooo incredibly talented, and this movie just supports that. I loved you in wicked, i memorized all the songs within a week! its pretty sad. but i really do love everything you do, its such an inspiration for me. i love you idina!

maybe one day i will get to meet you, but for now, watching you on the big screen will be enough.

I LOVE this movie! I love the live show too. But I just want to say that I think it was captured perfectly onscreen. The critics don't know what they're talking about. LOL. I am glad it was made with 98% of the original cast. You guys were so great! All I can say is it left me speechless. I can't wait for the DVD.

Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.
