wow! Totally not how I would ever have pictured that scene, but it's awesome. Gosh I'm sooooo excited. I actually flew out to new york to see Idina in Wicked because I had always wanted to see her live and I thought that was my best chance. Two days because my area is lame and doesn't have any earlier shows but I still am very!!!! excited. Much love. No day but today.

I JUST SAW RENT TODAY! take me or leave is my favorite song...by far...idina menzel is my favorite person in the world...I can't describe how amazing the movie was. I laughed. I cried my eyes out at the end. I sang along to every song. It was truly amazing...my new favorite movie. I'm seeing it again this week...I LOVE IT! I almost fainted...thats how great it was...SO UNBELIEVEABLY AMAZING!

I just saw the movie tonight at an advance screening, and let me say that it was SO totally awesome- I couldn't believe it. That whole scene right before "Take Me Or Leave Me" was so good too, and very cute. And it's funny- though you already know what's going to happen, it somehow still doesn't take away from anything! It's THAT good. I loved Mark and Joanne's scenes together. They really made it quite humourous.

I can't wait to see it again on Wednesday!!! Woo hoo!

I saw an advanced screening of the movie tonight and to describe it in one word: PHENOMENAL!! I could not stop smiling until twenty minutes into the movie and lip synched every word to every song. The crowd loved it and their emotions were intertwined with the movie. There was not a dry eye in the theatre during the I'll Cover You Reprise, everyone felt Collin's pain. There were some huge Idina fans and supposedly the stars of the touring cast of Wicked, now in St. Louis were there, but the lady next to me believed no one was excited as me. I am going at least two more times this week. Thank you so much for making this possible and spreading the love of RENT worldwide!!

And to think they're making us wait another 2 days...cruel!!

Simply amazing. I saw Tracie on a Law and Order episode with Jesse and thought she was a great actress with her portrayal. I can't wait to see her in this. Love Jesse in the show, too, I'm addicted to it. And I always love Idina, her talent has no limits.

You have no idea how much I have been waiting for this! I'm actually flying up to NY just to see the film! Everything continues to look amazing! Burrrrrr I hear it's gonna be cold!

Well I had a moment with the pool table were I went "But I thought this was a PG13 movie ..." I love Idina and I think Tracie is an awesome new Joanne. Rocking the vest there. I'm seeing it in just 30 hours and 50 minutes. Someone pinch me, I must be dreaming. My little Renthead heart can't take the suspense much longer!

That was amazing! Tracie, you do the role of Joanne very proud and I am so happy for you that you have had the chance to live out a dream that all of us dream of...being a part of Rent. Idina, as wonderful as always! Can't wait to see the movie Wednesday!!!

I just saw a sneak preview of the movie tonight and all I have to see is WOW!!! This movie captures the broadway musical in a perfect way. The movie brought so much more depth to the musical and really put you up close and personal with the characters. I laughed and cried through the entire movie. A must see for any Renthead or entertainment lover.

I've read that people are saying that they are speechless when they walk out of the theatre... and I must agree... there was also not a dry eye in the place.

I love Idina! I loved her in Wicked, and love her even as much in RENT! I love this song because it shows the relationship between the two, and even though i think that Maureen is better, Joanne sure can sing! Even though Maureen wants too be crazy, just like me, I understnad Joanne's point of veiw! Great scene! Love how it is portrayed!

Hey guys...had to say I saw a premiere screening in San Diego tonight. GOOD SHOW!! There was hardly a dry eye in the house, and the "Take Me or Leave Me Scene" was definately a highlight of the movie! It is very difficult to pick out one particular moment in the show that makes it great, because the hole darn thing is JUST that good. Noone will be dissappointed. You guys "done good."

Tracie, I had the pleasure of seeing the film last night at the Baltimore premiere and sat next to your mom's college roommate!! Oh MY WORD! Any doubts I had about this translations of the film flew out into the rainy night after the first three seconds. You all are amazing-- you and Idina especially! CONGRATULATIONS to all on this fantastic film. Well worth the wait of nearly 10 years!!

I saw RENT last night and I am exhausted from the anticipation and waiting, but totally buzzed from the images floating in my mind. Idina . . . lady, can you ever, ever BELT those songs. You are such an incredible performer.

The interpretation was so true, real, and heartfelt.

What a phenomenal voice!!!!!!! Everytime you sang, I wanted to hear more. CDs please, make lots of them. Your eyes, your voice, your passion. Whew!!!

I just wanted to tell you all that I was blessed enough to see an early screening of this FABULOUS film!! In addition to seeing the movie before most of the world; there were some additional viewers in the audience. You guys may know them, 3 people named: Tracie Thoms, Anthony Rapp, and Wilson Jermaine Heredia!! It was hard for me not to pass out, but I remained strong to pass on the word to all my fellow bloggers. SEE THIS MOVIE!! I must admit I was hesitant at first; being a HUGE fan of the broadway version; but it met up to all that and then some!! I can not stand the sky high prices of movie tickets, but TRUST ME IT IS WELL WORTH IT!! I could go on all day but you guys have to see it for yourselves!!

I've been reading reviews and cheking clips everywhere on the web about the movie, and people think it's great... AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!! DAMN!!! It looks so good!!! I've said that many times before, I know, but now that the day is so close, the expectations are killing me!! I fee like I was going to perform or something, it's just s oexciting!! Whoa! one of the comments that i have heard when dealing with a musical is that sometimes an actor will stop acting when they start singing. Thats NOWHERE near the case. I felt the tension between those two the whole time. I thought they were going to hit each other!

Dear Ms. Menzel,

Congratulations on your wonderful performance in the film version of "RENT!" As a Drama Teacher and admitted RENT fan myself from its earliest days, it is with extreme satisfaction and sense of pride that I am able to introduce the story to a new generation of theatre students through the film.

I usually don't write such notes to total (albeit talented) strangers, but I felt compelled to share one of my fondest memories regarding RENT and my thanks with you. Among my treasured possessions is a student-produced Senior English video project from my high school days which features not only the track "Contact" as a background for a Aldous Huxley soma-induced scene (in which brave new world-ers engage in some sheet bouncing behavior- more than an homage to Greif's staging), but also a perhaps-not-so-accidental blip of many of us resting between takes and relaxing in one another's arms to the background sounds of "Seasons of Love." It still tears me up when I think about those last days and relationships- how little we knew about how far we would go, and how fiercely we loved one another.

I'll be seeing and hearing it all again tomorrow night with a new group- my students this time- several of whom were singing "La Vie Boheme" in the halls today in anticipation of the opening. I am looking forward to it as well and hope the experience creates memories as lasting for them as the ones your and the rest of the 'originals' talent help me make what seems a lifetime and yet not so very long ago.

I saw the Broadway Show more than ten times in New York. You can never get enough of RENT. It is one of the best shows on Broadway and now in Theaters. Good Luck Everyone.

I can't wait until tomorrow! I can't wait to see Idina and Tracie perform this song I love it... but I'm so excited to see Rent! To all of the cast if they EVER read this, seeing this movie is just so excited for me. I really wish that I could've see the actual broadway presentation, but hey, this is as close as I'll get and I'm content with that. This is so exciting for me though! Rent really just found it's way into my heart after we performed Seasons of Love for a choir concert last year and I fell in LOVE with the song as well as Rent itself. Also, I had my very first solo in Seasons of Love which was very special for me. I got such positive feedback from it too and it was just so amazing being up on stage, especially singing that particular song... well, I CANNOT WAIT, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

i had no clue what all this Rent is about, lost and blind out here in the sunny island... but since accidence brought me here.... i'll stay, absorb and spread the spirit to those who do not know it...

Idina, I really hope you read these. I saw Rent this morning at 10am- the first showing within an hour of where I live. It was amazing. But I just wanted to tell you that when I went most people in the theatre were dressed in Rent type clothing or wearing Rent t-shirts and when you said "moo with me" we all mooed. It was perfect.

Thank you so much for your hard work on this project as well as Wicked, Aida...You are most likely the best woman on Broadway right now so keep it up- you have been blessed with the most amazing voice. THANK YOU FOR USING IT WELL! :)

HOLY CRAP!!!! I just got back from seeing the movie and oh my God!!!! It was amazing!!! I am going to go see it again, I don't know when but I am!!! All of you are amazing!!! So talented!!! Man, the movie sent me into a state of Goosebumps every ten minuets.
Seen it three times on broadway, and now twice in theaters. I'm going to see it two more times at least. I absolutly (sp?) Love Joanne, and Angel! I love this song, and I never would have thought the scene would be like that, but It was cool none the less.

I knew you were my idol for a reason! Your voice is amazing (there, that must make one trillion and one times you heard that). I am so mad, because believe it or not, I HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE YET! (as the other bloggers, appalled, gasp in shock) I know! I know! I'm an awful person! It's tearing me apart! (as i yell in agony).

Long story: i was in a show that ended last weekend; everyone who said they'd go w/ me to see it on Wednesday got sick and had to bail out; because it's Thanksgiving weekend, EVERYONE'S GONE! I'm all alone (which is probably why i'm up here right now writing on the rent blog while every other fan is out seeing the movie for like the 12th time since 11/23)

I don't know if the cast read's these, but let me just say I've been in love with RENT forever... I know the fans are so hardcore, so I'm sure these are things you hear all the time. I saw the movie and I just want to say there are no words to describe the talent of this cast. You walk away from that movie and truly feel connected to each and every cast member. What a message RENT has.
** Also to Idina: I think you are one of the most talented vocalists I've ever heard. I have your cd "still I can't be still" and I go on road trips and just listen to it on repeat. I think you are just all around super talented and I really admire you as an actress and singer.

Saw this film Thanksgiving night....AWESOME!!! Went with my brother and sister and we just loved everything about the film. Although I must admit I was waiting to see "Take me for what I am," Idina YOU ROCK!!! You and Tracie nailed that song. On a side note, I also watched you all on The View and boy did they embarass Idina. Taye and Idina were so cute together.

I just saw Rent for the first time 2day! IT was soooo amazing. Idina u were to funny for words. Everysingle time u and Tracie kissed I kept thinking of Taye. It's going to bee way to long before it comes out on video. I love how they added the Engagement that was great!! I cried through liek the entire thing it was so sad. I came directly home and now I am in my bed on my laptop listening to Rent and Wicked and Kristin chenoweth and I have one of ur cds I really want Still I cant Be STill but I havnt been able to get that yet so for now I have Here which is soo amazing! Idina you are amazing. Ive only seen you preform live once, but it was one of the greatest things ive ever seen. I live in michigan and drove the 9 and a half hours to new york for one day to see wicked. It was incredible and wicked is one of my absolute favorite musicals. I saw it again in chicago and anna gastayer was good, but could not compare to you. Ive seen rent twice, but the movie was the only time ive seen you in it and omg you were breath taking. I just wanted to let you know that your talent is inspiring. What i think i like the best about you though is that beyond all the incredible things you can do on stage and in a studio, you seem to be a really genuine person. I like that you appear to be so grounded in spite of all of your admirable accomplishments. Anyways congrats on the tony, and on your preformance in rent. Youre incredible.

I knew so from just hearing the Rent and Wicked soundtracks, but after seeing you in "See What I Wanna See" and Rent the movie, I realized how brilliant you really are both on stage and on screen. You have such presence, it's hard to take your eyes off you when you perform. And that truly is a gift. As someone who is open to relationships with both men and women, I really respected and appreciated your performance in Rent. You gave it a lot of heart, and I thank you for it. Right now I am in college hoping to one day work in theater as a director or as critic, and I just hope that I get to work with people or review actors that have as much heart and dedication to the arts as you do. You have touched a lot of people, and I hope you always remember that. Thank you for all you do.

I do not understand how one person is so talented. Sure Wicked was out of this world amazing, but then reappearing in RENT blew the entire audience away... everyone, and i do mean everyone, "moo-ed" with you. Take Me or Leave me, two extremely powerful voices in a duet together *sigh* I love music and I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!! The play on Broadway, now Rent in the movie theaters, a new CD...
