This is sort of a long comment. First off, I want to say: the movie was FABULOUS. I just got back an hour ago from seeing it, and in an hour I'm going BACK to see it again with another friend. Stunning job, you guys. I love you!

I know half of those questions, but I have to go back and watch it again, pay more attention to the details. I'm bringing a pencil and paper! Hee hee.

Idina, Taye, Wilson, Jesse, Adam, Anothy, Rosario, Tracie: You were all fantastic, I love you all so much! When I read the reviews, which weren't exactly nice, I cried over them for nearly a half hour, it made me so sad that the critics were being mean to you. But let me just say, I think, along with hundreds of thousands of other people, I'm sure; that it was absolutely fantastic. I love the movie, I love you!

I've decided to see this movie thirteen times, then buy it on DVD when it comes out. My best friend and I are going to see a midnight showing of it together, just so we can sing along with the characters and moo with Maureen. I'll be totally broke by the time I've hit thirteen, but that's alright - as long as we've got "RENT", what else matters?

oh wow i wish i could answer these questions. i was so into the feeling of the movie that the smallest details were oblivious to me. I just want to say...amazing job. A true inspiration. I cried from the death right up until the very end. I was in tears. It was an uplifting movie.

I was so eager to get my answers in, that I didn't add any additional comments. But now that those are in, let me say that I saw a midnight showing of Rent, and I had a wonderful time. I was checking reviews today, and they don't seem to be very positive. I am a very critical person, and I thought the film was beautiful, and I felt that everyone worked to make it something the fans would love. You didn't make the movie with people who couldn't sing, and you didn't try to apologize for the fact that characters burst into song. You just let the musical be what it was. I especially liked the chorus burning the eviction notices in "Rent," the subway dancing in "Sante Fe," and opening with all the actors on the stage singing "Seasons of Love." Thanks for considering the fans during every step of production. We appreciate it.

My fifteen year old daughter has been counting down the days to rent forever, so today the countdown subsided and off we went-to see RENT.
It is ageless, a true unfolding of bravery and vulnerability. The New York back-drop serves to allow the actors magnificent depth into the both their personal traumas and achievements and the price of that sacrifice.
Throughout addiction, HIV/AIDS, homelessness and romantic beffuddlement-Denial and defeatism never plants a wary seed; there is always a teary-eyed hopefulness-like a subway hold strap always available when the ride gets shaky....and shaky it does indeed get...the group of friends are hungry, cold, addicted,evicted--that strap to hold tight and trust is each other-devotion emerges as these special characters make conscious decisions to stand together depsite overwhelming struggles,like Angel's health.
The kindness and compassion emerges stronger and more self-less in every scene until the viewer feels that he has merged into the story to feel the intensity, integrity and interconnectedness and compassion of this circle of friends.
The viewer not only had a window to share this heartwreching and hopeful journey, he/she was invited into the lives to root for and succumb to the pain, change and annihilation that Angel and MIMI had to endure.
This film made the viewer a character through osmosis.. It made you feel the spirit, determination, fraility and humbleness of the characters and the sense that the whole senseless parade made perfect sense with the conviction of friendship, loyalty and love..
Great film, insightful, ego-less director, magnificent actors...
...and to think, I nearly stayed home.. This should win every award that there is to give plus some sort of HUMANITARIAN AWARD to prommote kindness, generosity and giving for the simple sake of giving..

Oh my Gosh!! RENT was soooo friggin' awesome!!! All the cast and crew did marvelous work!! I cried so much and was so glad it stayed so true to Jonathan Larson's true message. Thanks for all the hard work!!

What can I say guys? It was AMAZING! Truth be told, I was scared for you guys because I didn't know if all the hype was built up just for us to be let down, and I didn't know if RENT would make the smooth transition from stage to screen, but I know now I was COMPLETELY wrong!
I adored it. I can't wait to see it again. I was moved to tears four times!!!
I'm eager to see this movie again and again and again, and I'm so eager to see you all awarded for this wonderful work. This is now my favorite movie of all time.

Alright, well.. So many things to say, I'm sure someone has answered the questions already so I

truely brilliant. However, I would have died to
see Mark sing the line, "Perhaps its because im
the one of us to survive," that has always been
my favorite line of the entire musical for some

The movie was WONDERFUL. People were laughing, people were crying, mothers were covering their young childrens eyes/ears, entire families were walking out of the movie theater completely appalled by the subject material by the time "La Vie Boheme" finished, crazy RENTheads from my area that I didn't know existed until this day were mooing as loud as they could while others who hadn't yet experienced Rent stared wide-eyed at the screen not sure WHAT to think, and some people glanced around nervously as Angel and Collins kissed, saw that no one was making a big deal about it, and continued to enjoy the movie. It was FABULOUS. The reactions were AMAZING. I think you hit home with causing some controversy as well as opening people's eyes whether the movie is a hit or not, so now everyone can sit back, relax, and enjoy themselves until awards time rolls around :-)

First of all I want to start by saying I saw the film this afternoon (wish I had seen it sooner, like the midnight show in NYC, but my fam made me go to FL for the Thanksgiving weekend) and I loved it! I am a huge fan and have been obsessed with the show for many years now. I think I've been counting down to seeing the movie since I even heard such a thing was going to be made, and I am very pleased with the final results. Thank you to the entire cast (Idina, Jesse, Adam, Tracie, Anthony, Wilson, and Rosario you were all amazing and truly brought the show to life on screen and gave me the realization not only that I knew you but that you really were Maureen, Collins, Roger, Joanne, Mark, Angel, and Mimi - thank you for giving a show which has changed my life such justice that it is due) for their amazing work and a big thanks to Chris Columbus who - while slightly modifying the story to bring it from the stage to the screen, kept Jonathon's Larson message vivid throughout the film. It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to see it again.

Omg i saw the movie today... it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I dont think i remeber all those answers to those questions though...but i am def. going to see it again...so i'll have to watch extra closely!!

The movie was absolutely phenomenal. I am one of those people who doesn't cry at movies, but I was so moved I bawled like a baby. Everyone was fantastic, you guys are fabulous performers. You embraced and adapted to this entirely new media absolutely beautifully. I was one of those lucky people who got to see it two days before it came out at a special screening, and I couldn't wait to tell my friends how amazing and awe inspiring it was. First I wanna say that the movie was EXCELLENT!! its one thing to hear the soundtrack, but.. to see it brought to the big screen... it was amazing, and so moving... I was literally crying from "Will I" to the end of the film. Wonderful job! Now I need to get to New York and see the stage show ;-)

Adam and Rosario, the emotion that you guys show in this movie permeates through to the soul. The joy and pain of Roger and Mimi sends you on such a ride that you lose track of what's going to happen next, even though you KNOW what does (or does not) happen.

Anthony, thank you for continuing to make Mark my favorite character. Your character to me has always been the eyes and ears of the audience and you're the guy who lets us in on the "in jokes" that the group has. Everytime Mark is around, I feel like part of the group and it's hard not to just sing along to everything. I was sad that I didn't get to hear "Halloween" (MY FAVORITE SONG) but I hope that just means that I have something to look forward to when the DVD comes out (Deleted scenes?)

Idina, How I wanted to moo with you. Tracie, your voice is AMAZING! It is obvious why the two of you work so well together with your amazing talents.

Taye, it was nice to almost see a softer side to Benny. You really get a better feeling of how close everyone used to be before life took them in different directions and then brought them back together.

Jessie and Wilson, you guys were amazing together. It hurt more this time to see Angel die then it did when I saw it on stage three times. Jessie, your reprise of "I'll Cover You" was the most beautiful and most heart wrenching piece of music that I have ever heard. Hard not to burst into tears right there.

Chris Columbus, Rent to me is like an old friend who you haven't seen in a while. Thank you for making this friend even better. Tango Maureen will just never work on a stage for me ever again. If you enjoyed filming this half as much as we all enjoyed watching it, your life is filled with sheer bliss.

To the Larson family, thank you for helping to keep Rent alive. There are a lot of us whom are great admirers of Jonathan's work and I hope that bringing this to the movie theaters will allow more people to realize how precious life and people are.

I really just want to say, that movie was so beyond amazing, there should be a new word for it. I got chills during the first scene and cried around 5 times, sobbing so hard when angel died i had to take my glasses off!
I think that the close relationship between the fans and the cast/crew through this website really added an element to Rent that is so unlike any other movie before.
We, the fans, trusted you guys to make this movie as magical as the actual play, and trust me, you did not let us down one bit!

WOW!!!! That is the only word to use to sum up the entire movie. I looked at the Trivia questions, and am not ashamed to say that I did not lose my self among the littler things, that I do not know some of those answeres. The Scene in the life cafe, I was strictly focused on the group of friends and so into the moment That the bartender didn't appeal to me.

I have been waiting for this film to come out for ages. And finally it has come, and in pure dedication to NOT miss opening day, my mother and I set out, on terrible snow covered roads to the movie theatre.
I, In (thinking) I knew this area where I've grown up, expected the theatres screening room that was showing Rent to be bare. But when I walked into the theatre the only available seats in that movie were the front row seats. And my friends were there and my cousin was there. We all made plans to meet there and took a VOW that we would NOT rain, snow or shine miss opening day.
The movie is so Contagious, so Deep and filled with so much realism that it grabs you by your coat seems and drags you straight into it.

At one point in the movie, there were 4 of the rows of seats where every single person was holding one anothers hand. And I am happy to say that I did not miss out on that, and that I was in one of those four rows. I LOVE YOU CHRIS COLUMBUS for making this film come to life. AND the person who wrote it. When Angel Died I felt like someone ripped my heart out and just trashed upon it with steel toed boots. just totally awesome and I am soooo soo so GREATFUL that I got the chance to see this film.

My sister and I have been huge Rent fans since it began on Broadway. We have also been counting down to the movie opening. We were truly impressed that the emotions and vitality of the actors has continued onto the big screen. We were worried that the transition might disappoint us, but we were both thrilled with the results of the movie. Jonathan Larson has truly created a masterpiece and I am glad to know that now with this type of presentation, a larger audience will have the opportunity to enjoy this work of art.

I just got back from the movie, and I HAD to write. First of all, despite the fact that Cleveland is presently under a white blanket of a winter storm, the theatre was PACKED. The atmosphere felt like a class reunion, and though nobody seemed to know anybody else, we all felt like old friends. And as the screen darkened after the finale, the audience erupted into CHEERS. I've NEVER been to a movie and had that happen!!!! Congratulations to the cast and crew, and thank you for the best Thanksgiving present EVER! No day but TODAY!!!!!

I've only been able to see it once so far, so unfortunately I can't answer all of those questions... (I was too busy crying to notice most of those details!) But, I just wanted to be the umpteenth fan to express my immense approval. :o) Admittedly, I was afraid that the movie wouldn't do justice to the OBCR--but all those fears vanished really quickly as I sat in the theater. I'm sorry to bore you with another fan message... :o) But I have to say, just in case any of you actually read this: Wilson and Jesse, you are astounding together, and seeing you onscreen made me fall even more deeply in love with your characters. The reprise of "I'll Cover You" was one of the most moving moments in film that I've ever witnessed--along with the Finale. On that note: Rosario, you too blew me away! What a gorgeous voice you have! :o) You too, Tracie--you made me love Joanne even more! The both of you were natural additions to the cast. Idina, "Over the Moon" was -amazing-...and I'd been worried about it, since the original version is one of my favorite songs. But you pulled it off perfectly! Anthony, the more I see you as Mark, the more I love this musical. You have such talent. I could never imagine any other actor playing that role--you are the heart and soul of RENT. Adam, fantastic job--Roger's and Mimi's scenes were more touching than I'd ever even imagined. ("Without You" was...beyond words.) And Taye--I hate to leave you for last, because you were so, so excellent. :D I actually empathized with Benny once in awhile...and the humor you added to that role really made it. All right, I've rambled for far too long... A final thank you to the entire cast and crew and to Chris Columbus for bringing this amazing production to all of us! I love you!

OMG!!! That was the best thing i have ever seen (next to the play of course). I spent 2 hours and 15 minutes crying the first time I saw it and then the next hour thinking about how amazing it was and how much I missed while I was crying. So I had to go back again. It was amazing. "Over the Moon" and "Take Me or Leave Me" were so awesome. I was the only one in the theatre mooing. Thank you for keeping it so close to the original message. I just NEED to say how incredible this movie is. I saw that someone posted that the critics weren't that nice. Well, it's not their job to be, and I don't let what they say decide on which movie I'm going to see. Needless to say, I haven't read one review, or listened to any critics.

I must say this film was awesome. Being an avid Broadway fan - I have never been 2 excited to see plays turned into movies but Chris Columbus did RENT and Jonathan Larson justice. He stuck to the play and didn't try to fix something that wasn't broken. It was great to see the orginal cast together again (it so funny seeing Benny and Maureen go at it since in real life they are happily married...talk about great actors)and Rosario Dawson did Mimi justice. Kudos to everyone who help put this movie together...it was excellent.

I just wanted to say....I spent the last 30 minutes of the movie crying, which means the movie was fantastic! A million thanks and "seasons of love" to the Larson family!

Adam, if I ever wanted to marry someone he would have to have your voice....or at least a unique one like yours that is. The emotion was so raw and in the scene when Rosario is singing out tonight and you(Roger that is) see her and smile suddenly and then go back to the straight face....fantastic.

Rosario, so good. Your emotion and dancing was so good...and fluid, made me want to get up and dance. But I didn't, plus I almost yelled at the screen for Roger to just take Mimi and love her rather than fight.

Anthony, okay....my friends say that I am a Mark character, let's just say their point is proven. But I love how you portray Mark, he's a total individual and I love it. I was sad that Halloween was cut out but so glad it was on the CD, and hopefully on the DVD.

Idina, first off I have to say....nice ass. Second, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!!! Over the Moon was so fun, and to get to see you Tango in the Tango: Maureen...hot, loved the dress by the way. And your voice, there can never be another Maureen as good.

Tracie, you have to be one of my new favorite singer/actors. You have such a powerful voice and everytime I saw you crying I was crying right there with you. It must have been such a great experience being a fan and then apart of it, forever. If I could I would totally dub myself your number one fan!

Taye, Benny was so good at the end when he was trying to help out the guys. Plus the singing, I wish I could have seen you when you were in Wicked. And I loved the picture in Mark's video, so slick!

Jesse, I love seeing you at the Tony's and on TV but you are so good at emotion and singing, the combination is explosive! The scences of you and Wilson in the hospital and in the train had me bawling. Thank you so so much for allowing us to experience this original love again!

Wilson, no other man can hold themselves as well as you can in drag. Half the time I was thinking....dang I wish I could look that good in an outfit like that. And that dance...always a sight to see. I was only sad to not see you in the rest of the movie, at least till Mark's movie. I cried so much for Angel, thank you for bringing her to life!

Finally, Chris Columbus, you better have a director's cut of this movie! Or a Special special edition because you did an amazing job and I'm so glad on how it came out, even without Halloween and Goodbye Love. Thank you for taking this under your wing....it was far better than Harry Potter, and truthfully I was having some doubts but you surpassed those. Thank you thank you!

i saw the first showing of the movie in my city and it was amazing. i can't even describe how much it effected me, i've loved rent for so long and loved the music and the people and i've been building this movie up in my head for so long and i was so scared that it couldn't possibly be as good as i wanted it to be-but it was so much better than i ever dreamed. it stayed so true to the original play and was so intese and so moving. i loved it more than i can say.

i also want to congratulate all the cast and crew on an amazing job-everything was pitch perfect, from the performances to the lighting, setting, cinematography-everything was just amazing and all the hardwork was totally evident.

ok, I've already answered the questions but I didn't comment on the movie! It was AWESOME! I felt like I had waited forever for this moment and now its here. I have been a fan of RENT for a long time and I simply adore the play and I wasn't sure if the movie could capture the energy you feel seeing it live but boy was I suprised! It was better than I ever could have hoped for. There were alot of people at the showing I saw (1st one of the day of course) that I know had never seen it before and there reactions were priceless. I am so glad that now Jonathan's vision reaches countless other people. I definately recommend seeing it at the Nederlander if you haven't already. Its a totally different experience. One you will never forget.

Wow, I saw the movie yesterday. I'd never even heard about it before. Don't know my opinion yet, but I think it's one of the very rare movies that I'll have to watch again to figure out. It was interesting.

I saw the movie twice last night, and both times I cried for the last half hour of the film. I had a headache when I got home, but I don't even mind because the film was absolutely beautiful! I don't know the answers to many of the questions, but I wanted to post. I was the first person to buy a ticket for the movie in my hometown and I was not disappointed. The movie was phenomenal!! I will definitely be seeing it again, and again, and again... and then more when I buy the DVD. Great job to the cast... each and every one of you were amazing. Rosario and Tracie... as the newcomers, you two were absolutely amazing in your roles. Anthony, Wilson, Adam, Jesse, Taye, and Idina... I was unable to see you all in the stage production, but feel as if I got a taste of it. Great job to the cast and crew. What an amazing and moving work of art!

hey. just got back from the film, and i must say that the movie was absolutely fantastic! I loved every minute of it. I brought a few of my friends with me though, and they liked it and were emotional, and were like "man, that was intense..." but i dont think i had the experience of it that i wish i could have had, like in NYC at a midnight screening. Noone was excited and here i was not being able to sit still and wanted everyone around me to feel the film the way I did. It was so emotional and awsome. I guess thats farmland indiana for you! Anyone wanna go again!! I need some rentheads! Cast and crew...you were absoutely amazing. I am so glad this masterpiece could be shared with a larger audience! Mad props!

I just want to say that I cried and cried and cried at the end of the movie.... I don't care what people say- the movie was just as touching as the show... and I was so happy to be able to take the person closest to me with me to see it. Love to everyone that helped put this incredible movie together- you all amaze me! From the actors to the gaffers- you all deserve standing ovations!!!!!

I laughed, I cried, I sobbed.

I saw the movie last night for the second time in two days, and was even more moved than the first time. Jesse and Wilson--and I'm saying this as a straight woman--"I'll Cover You" has to be one of the most genuinely romantic love scenes ever captured on film. Collins' shyness, the mutual joy as each man realizes that his love his returned...it's absolute magic, guys. Jesse--I hope awards' committees are paying attention (and that's not to take anything away from Wilson and the rest of the outstanding cast). You are MAGNIFICENT in this film!!

Okay, so I know I'm not saying anything that no one's said before, but I just have to make my own comment. I just saw it for the second time a few hours, my first time was 10.15 am on the 23rd- I will never ever ever forget. I dragged along two of my non-renthead friends: One of which is now a renthead because of this movie.

I cried, from the funeral to the end. I was absolutely just blown away. Jesse's 'I'll Cover You-Reprise' was... amazing. There is no other word for it. And La Vie Boheme, and Today 4 U... and absolutely EVERYTHING. I haven't seen the show on stage yet, but it's touring in my city in February. Whoever the cast is, I can tell right now they will not compare with you guys- This movie R.U.L.E.S.

This is more of a comment than anything, i do know a few answers, but NEED to see it again. I just want to say that although this is my first post on the blog, i have been reading entries since June and i have been anxiously awaiting the release since then! Can I just say that I absolutely adore this movie. It has only been out for 4 days and I have already seen it 3 times. I listen to the old soundtrack in my car where ever I go. I saw this show on Broadway in February. I really thought that I would like it better on stage then I would like the movie but I like them both equally. I absoutly love everything that was different in the movie! It was genius! Rosario Dawson and Tracie Thomas were awesome additions to the cast! Everyone in this movie truly made these characters come to life and delviered the message that Jonathon Larsen wanted to convey. No day but today! I am in love with this movie and everyone in it! Rock on!

I love this movie so much. Idina is my goddess. Her performance was flawless. It's just amazing to see who she can become. If you look at Elphaba from Wicked and Maureen from Rent, you just have to go "wow" at the differences. Oscar voting people you better get her that ocsar!

Ok, so I'm really sorry for making such an incredibly long blog post but I just have to do it :) because I really, honestly feel like each and every person in the cast as well as chris columbus deserves indivisual recognition for an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE job well done so here goes (please exuse the pun hehe):

Rosario- I was absolutely positively AMAZED and completely blown away by your performance!! Honestly, every expression you made, every line you sang, everything, was sheer perfection. I just could absolutely not believe how incredibly talented you are, and I can't think of a single other person who could do it as flawlessly as you did. I was captivated by your youthfulness and energy, and I litterally started shaking durring without you because you made it almost too real

Anthony- wow... just.. wow! You can simply do no wrong... EVER!! you are absolutely incredible, and you are the ONLY mark for me!! You gave such an incredibly beautiful and understated performance, and I really cant even find the words to describe it. You just have this AMAZING screen precense and you're simply... the best :)

Tracie- ok, so before I go into my raving about you I'll have you know that right after take me or leave me my mom leaned over to me and said "wow, that girl playing joanne has the most incredible voice!!" and I was like "I know!! doesn't she though?" and then when the movie was over I was like "yeah, can you believe she's not like a huge star?" and my mom was like "she was just soooooooooo good!!!" so yeah... there you go, I think that pretty much sums up how incredible everyone thinks you are and how you stood out even to people who really have no background information on the cast at all :) you ARE a star, and you did a PHENOMONAL JOB!!!!! not just really good, not great, not even amazing, PHENOMINAL!!

Jesse- ok, so I almost never cry at movies. For some reason, I just dont. I think the last time I cried at a movie was about 8 years ago at titanic or something. YOU MADE ME CRY!! you're just that amazing. And when you didn't make me cry durring without you and I'll cover you reprise, you made me CRACK UP!!not just giggle, but CRACK UP! You just have this way of effecting people... I can't put my finger on why, but you do. There aren't many people who can be that funny AND that heartbreaking- but you can... and you do it flawlessly!

Idina- hmm what is there to say really? you're Idina and you're freaking AWESOME!!! No, scratch that,PHENOMINAL!! You are just an absolute blast to watch, and you bring so much energy to the movie it is mindblowing! you have this amazing way of being absolutely hilarious and having flawless comedic timng while also showing how big of a heart maureen has and how much she cares about everyone no matter how self centered she may be. In short, you're just an amazing actress, as well as having one of the most incredible voices I've ever heard. Then again, we already knew that :) oh, and one more thing, girl you can DANCE!!! that's crazyness I could never tango like that! well, I cant tango at all but you get my drift!

Wilson- yeah, I was honestly speechless :) there is absolutely nothing I can say to express how much I love you playing angel. Absolutely everything about that performance was just- beyond words for me. It was just- angelic! there were too many absolutely ADORABLE moments to count, angel is officially my favorite character ever, from anywhere, and as I said about jesse, YOU MADE ME CRY!!! Durring without you- you broke my heart so much that I seriously had to look away and think about something else. It just destroyed me, in the best possible way! oh and also, YOU'RE GORGEOUS!!!! as both a guy and a girl :D that is VERY rare!!

Adam- Just simply incredible. You broke my heart as much as jesse and wilson did!! We all knew you had an incredible, unique, PERFECT voice, but your acting was just simply perfection! I made me feel for roger more than I ever have before

Taye- I think its probably a sign of how INCREDIBLY talented you are that you actually made me feel sorry for Benny while still making me dislike him at the same time! To be able to take a character that is generally pretty concrete and give them so many layers and so many more emotions is just pure genius!! in short, you did a WONDERFUl, FANTASTIC, AMAZING job!!

Overall, I can pick no favorites- there was not a single weak link in this cast. Not one. You ALL make up the best, most incredibly talented cast of any movie. Ever.

Chris- Thank you. Thank you for doing such an phenominal job with directing, thank you for casting the PERFECT CAST, thank you for staying so incredibly true to Jonathon Larson's work, and most of all thank you for caring as much about this movie being made right as the fans, the people involved, and most importantly the Larson family did. I know I'm just a mere fan, and I probably dont even have the right to be saying all of this, but if I care this much about this story and this movie and its message, I cant even imagine how the people closest to the project feel. And if I feel this relieved at how incredible it turned out, I cant even imagine the relief they must be feeling. So really- thank you.

Ok, now that I have completely rambled on and repeated myself a million times I am finally done :) I really am sorry for how long this post is, but I REALLY felt like just saying "this movie was amazing" was not enough. I know its just a movie, but its a movie and a story that I really do connect with and it really is near and dear to my heart, and so I had to give its cast and its director the justice they deserve!! Thank you EVERYONE!!!!

I cannot express my grattitude toward all of you. I have seen it twice and it has touched me in a way that i cannot explain.

By the end of the funeral scene, I was absolutley blown away. I could not believe the feelings surging through me at that point.

"What You Own" was just spectacular. "I'll Cover You (Reprise)" made my eyes numb. Tears were streaming down my cheeks and I had to cover my mouth to keep myself from a. singing with the cast and b. screeching like a baby does when it cries.

At the first scene (Seasons of Love) I cried. It seems silly as it is the first scene, but as I let Jonathon Larson's words soak into my mind and heart, I found that my emotions could not be controlled at that moment.

At the end, I was shivering and shaking. I could not believe how much heart and soul I had just witnessed. I couldn't stop my hands from shaking.

During "Without You," Rosario (Mimi) made it so real that I bacame freezing and all I wanted to do was jump into the screen and comfort Mimi and Angel. That seems really silly as well.

"Take Me or Leave Me" was absolutely phenominal. Both Tracie and Idina have such unique, outstanding, voices that dig into my heart.

"Over The Moon," made me want to jump up and sing the entire song along with you, Idina. I literally had to hold onto my armrests to keep me from getting up. I actually mooed with you several times during that scene. You are such an amazing singer and actress. You made me want to be on Broadway. Idina, you are truly my idol and role model.

"La Vie Boheme" was one of my favorites. It was such a well done and amazing scene. I loved how the words just fly at you and you almost get confused, but thats a good thing. You are ot really sure what to do with all of the consepts and things being thrown at you, but in the end you understand how it is and all I wanted to do was to find a table and start throwing words at the audience with Anthony (Mark).

"Your Eyes" and "Glory". What can I say? They made me feel like I was in love. I really and truly felt the pain of Roger. Adam, you captured the character so well I could not even believe it. When I think of Adam Pascal, I think of an AIDS infected rock star who doesn't know whether he should fall in love or not. you made me cry during both songs.

"Today 4 U" made me smile and giggle. It was so Angel! Wilson, you are so amazing! I love you both in drag and out. At the life support meeting, it made me smile and cry at the same time when you took of your wig when you introduced yourself. it was so sweet. I loved you! You also broke my heart at the end of "Without You." You are an amazing Angel.

"You'll See Boys" was so good! Taye, your voice is so cool! I loved how you played with the notes of the melody. It was so amazing. You really made me hate and love Benny at the same time. I felt sorry for him on one level, but then I found myself feeling so much hatred for him on another. This is a good thing though. You have an amazing abbility to sway people in different directions with your character. You were amazing.

Rosario, Adam, Idina, Tracie, Anthony, Taye, Jesse, and Wilson, you toched my heart in such a huge way. You are all amazing actors and I am sure amazing people. Your voices are still humming in my mind as a write this post (which is so long, sorry!). But seriously, you made me laugh, cry, shiver, smile, giggle, and tense up. I cannot thank you enough Chris for putting this film together. I hope I get the chance to meet you all one day and truly express my grattitude to each every one of you. That would be such an opportunity. I would cry so hard! oh how I wish... Thank you so so so much again. I cannot say it enough and I hope this very long post has gotten your attention and I hope at least one of you reads it. I hope it has truly conveyed the feelings I have for the music, the film, and the show. Thank you thank you thank you again. I love you all so so so much.

Thank you Jonathan Larson, the Larson family, Chris Columbus, the cast and crew and all of my fellow RENTheads who have made this past year so exciting, with the anticipation of the movie, this website and blog, all of the trailers, interviews and clips, and finally the movie. I saw the movie twice on opening day, and, like so many others, plan to see it many more times. It was a perfect film version of the musical I've seen dozens of times. I was lucky enough to see most of the OBC nearly 10 years ago, and know that this movie wouldn't have been nearly as good if everyone had been replaced. That said, Rosario and Tracie were wonderful as well.

I was 22 when RENT came out on Broadway, and the music and message has continued to inspire me right into my 30s, and, I suspect, the rest of my life. Thanks for bringing it on film not only to us RENTheads, but to a whole new audience.

I just wanted to tell you all:
I was looking at the itunes most purchased cds list (which i do daily to see where Rent is) and Rent wasn't in it's usual number 4 spot. I thought "Oh, no, it's below 10?! how can that be?!" until i spied it as the NUMBER ONE MOST BOUGHT CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that beyond us loyal rentheads, the rest of america is discovering and falling in love with the story and actors who we all feel so passionatly about.

I just wanted to say how absolutely beautiful the movie is.

I've seen it twice so far, and I cried more the second time! :)

I love Rent so much, and am currently in a Rent binge, if you will. I've been playing my soundtrack out.

The best thing about the play becoming a movie is that you can see the emotions of each character up close and the message is so much more powerful.

I also love that the original cast is in it,(Rosario and Tracie were AMAZING as well) because I didn't get a chance to see you on stage. If it was any other cast, the movie wouldn't be half as good because you all were the first. You rock.

Angel, baby, you are damn sexy!
