You guys ROCK!!
Omg, I'm in our student center right so WJH, when you were talking about the makeup, I laughed SO hard that everyone turned to look at me (probably some with dirty looks since everyone's trying to do homework and study before class).
Thanks guys! Love, Sattin

Thanks for another interesting blog. Last week's Regis & Kelly appearance was good and the interview was cute (huzzah for the Adventures in Babysitting shout-out and Anthony's props to Rosario!). I can't believe the movie is just a little over a month away... Keep up the good promotion and awesome blogs!

Hey!
I really liked this blog, I'm surprised that a couple of people didn't have any trouble. I agree with you Wilson, make-up can be fun put it gets annoying and Its not fun to take off. Also playing a lesbian, that would be hard on MANY people, and from the comercials and such Tracie you have done an AMAZING job on it! At my school I'm on board for a Musical Theatre Guild and we were talking about which character from Rent we would most like to play. I chose Mimi because there is so many ways to play her and still stay true to the OBC. Plus you can get a little rounchy without actually doing anything wrong YES! So hazzah for Rosario! Have a great day guys! Thanks for the blog! Keep them coming!

Thank you all again for the insight you're giving us fans. It's brilliant. And, Rosario, my friend and I rented Josie and The Pussycats just to see you, and we love you and more and more. You're awesome. :)

For the first time, I'm the first to comment on a blog... HOW EXCITING! Anyways, I'm one step further towards the RENT experience. - I got the soundtrack in the mail today, and it's been playing non-stop ever since, and probably will be for a LOOONG time. I just L-U-V what you've done with the soundtrack, especially One Song Glory (Adam, GREAT JOB!), which has been my fave RENT song ever since I saw the musical for the first time five years ago...
Only a little less than 5 months to go for the premiere in France, which happens to be just 2 days after my 23rd b-day! I can't wait and I'm sure that it'll be g-rrrrrrr-eat! You guys RULE!

I've never met a group of people more dedicated to bringing the film back to the fans. And you know what, we deserve it - as much as it is your film, it's our film as well. There is a little bit of RENT, a little bit of Mark, Mimi, Joanne, Maureen, Roger and Angel in all of us - J.L.'s spirit lives on in these things like the blogs, and the interviews, and the myspace communities, and the live journal communities, and the greatestjournal communities.
It's all of ours. It's everybodies.
Thank you.

Wow!!! I'm so glad I found this site, but I am rather upset that it took me so long. Anyway, to say again what everyone else has said, I really appreciate the fact that you all take time to communicate with us. It give us the feeling that we are taking this journey with you. I just wanted to let you all know that the theater department at my college is planning a huge RENT party. We're going to try to "rent" (haha) the movie theater for a midnight showing as we have several students who work there. If we can't get that, then we are all going to the first available show. So just know that you have an entire college in Nebraska attending the movie. We love you all and are so proud of the work you are doing!
Thank you!!!
Laura Lynn
P.S. I'm not a fan of makeup either! I took makeup design last year and it was a pain in the ass putting extensive makeup on every Monday. My poor skin has never recovered.
Posted by: Laura Lynn on 10/17/05 at 11:08 AM
Thanks so much for your commentary on the movie! I just recieved my degree in theatre and last summer i found a new passion for movies. It is soo cool to be able to listen to you guys and the transformation of a play to a movie, especially since it's one of my favorites! Thanks for all the insight and I'm keeping my nose to the computer every Mon. and Wed.!
Love to all, Whitney

Hey all!
I just wanted to say that it is wonderful to have this blog to follow everything that is going on with the movie. I really cannot wait to see it especially because at least two of my internet acquaintances are coming into Columbus to see the movie with me over Christmas! I cannot wait! I thought I would show some insight into something that we share:
We RP on LiveJournal:
http://www.livejournal.com/~mitanarchist/ - Tom Collins
http://www.livejournal.com/~bohemianmark/ - Mark Cohen
http://www.livejournal.com/~the_antiangst/ - Angel
We have more of the Rent Contingent...but I thought I'd give you a taste of Rent @ Milliway's.

I saw the performance on Regis the other day! I love seeing the live performances and hearing what the cast has to say. Lately, I've been listening to Love Heals practically non-stop. Its an awesome song! I don't suppose we'll get to hear that one performed live...

WOW!! That is amazing that you all did not have a hard time getting back into your characters after all these years. I cannot believe that November 23rd is only a month from next Sunday. I am so excited to see the movie; and by the previews, I know I won't be disappointed.
XOXOXOXOXO LINDSEY :)

I just love all these video entries. They make all us fans feel really involved, which is so great. I have a question for Wilson, I hope he reads these things. Wilson, how do you go about finding your inner diva? What kind of a process is it and how does it differ from when you first started? Do you listen to certain types of music to get into the mood? Is it the costume? Where does Angel come from in you?
Posted by: Geoffrey on 10/17/05 at 01:13 PM
Thanks, guys!! Pssh, Adam, of course this isn't difficult for you, you're a natural ;) Jesse, as usual, you are a sweetheart, I luv u. Wilson, I hate wearing makeup too, lol <3 And of course Tracie and Rosario, you guys rule. Mwah!! Smooches!

Aw, I love you all. :)
The soundtrack makes me sob every time I hear it, you know... That's what I love about Broadway and about RENT - there's so much emotion involved, you can really hear exactly what the characters are feeling...
You're all so amazing. I love each and every one of you.

Adam, still looking good in green. Erm, Anthony hasn't mentioned a little community on LJ called inapropothought has he? If he starts to, run away as fast as you can. I'd like you to still like me when I meet you someday.
Jesse, you always do seem to be having such a ball playing Collins. Keep it up, you look great.
Wilson, ACK! You read my mind, I was thinking the hardest part would be the heels (hell I'm a chica and I STIIL hate them). But...make-up is fun and you look lovely.
Tracie, well if it makes you feel better, you make one lovely lesbian. (Shame we can't have you in our group though, you're absolutely stunning).
Rosario, they have stripper dance classes?! Where? *runs to sign up* Cool. It's nice to know that even gorgeous movie stars still dance around the living room, just like me.
Mucho love and happiness to all,
Bethy

Wilson, you rock! Make-up...is evil. I hate it, let it burn. 'cause with high heels, you get used to them after awhile, like I've worn high heeled boots for the past two years and at first it was terrible but after awhile they feel comfortable. Make-up, you never get used to it.
Jesse......show the love, man!
Adam, you did not dissapoint anyone. Our expectatinos were high and man, you delievered!
Tracie...you also rock. Playing a lesbian while not being one shouldn't be too hard, though since a lot of people do it multiple times. And sometimes...lesbians play straight women...or gay men play straight men...
Rosario, loved you in Sin City. Enough said.
Keep posting guys and can November please get here faster? Honestly...
Posted by: Alice on 10/17/05 at 02:27 PM
Wow, I'm surprised heels isn't the hardest part!
You guys are being modest, I'm sure it was very difficult to play the parts. (maybe more so for Rosario & Tracie) But you guys are so FANTASTIC AND SUPER at your jobs, you can handle absolutely anything. I just adore every single one of you. My life is now completely and utterly devoted to waiting for the movie. I'm so excited I just want to cry! XD

Much love for that video entry. That made me smile so hard, and laugh. Adam, you're the absolutest best (ignore my sucky grammer, please). Jesse, every time you open your mouth I just know I'm going to love what I hear. Wilson, you're the greatest...and I HATE make-up too, can't stand it on my face either, which is why I don't wear any, lol. Tracie..you're actually glowing!! I can't wait to see what you've done with Joanne. And Rosario, I've done that too, the whole dancing in the living room thing...love you.

But all of the videos from wherever it was that you all were are really great. Wonder what we'll get on Wednesday. =)
You're all amazing, as you already know, and yeah.
Posted by: Amanda on 10/17/05 at 03:51 PM
Hahaha, that was awesome.
Adam, did you know that even when one is watching the small video, your eyelashes look reaaaaaaaally long? And this guy I know was wearing your green shirt.
Jesse- Its awesome that you've had so much fun being Collins, cause I find that when people enjoy their parts a lot, its always so much better.
Wilson- I can totally understand you hating the makeup! My frend Kevin let me dress him up as Angel for one of our dress up days for homecoming week and nearly poked my eye out with a pencil when I pulled out the makeup.
Tracie- From what I've seen of previews, you play a very convincing lesbian. Props to you for being an actress who can play both gay and straight and be totally okay and relaxed with it.
Rosario- Glad to know I'm not the only one who dances crazily in the living room! You seriously crack me up and its good to know you enjoyed doing this role.
Rosario, Tracie- loved you guys on Regis and Kelly, with you guys joking about how you were being fangirly. I bet all of us would have at one point or another.
And Adam- ignore Beth's comment about Inapropo up there! Pretend it was never said. ^_^ We don't want to scare you guys. The community is just a place where perfectly normal people can go to act like screaming 12 year olds, since we refuse to do that in real life. It just gets it out of our systems and trust me- most of it is just joking around. We have honest admiration for you, Anthony, and anyone else mentioned on there :)
Posted by: Fizz on 10/17/05 at 03:54 PM
New video entries make me smile every time. Tracie, it can't be said enough that what you bring to the ensemble is absolutely fantastic and I hope we see (and hear!) a lot more from you in the coming years.

yet another wonderful video blog! i loved hearing what you all had to say. and you all keep saying that it was so much FUN to make the movie - which really makes me excited, because i know that will translate onto the screen. wilson, that made my day, i laughed so hard. i did immediately think about the heels, but you're right, the make-up part is pretty bad. rosario - haha, i loved how you said you used to dance around the living room with a broomstick and everything. i'm sure you'll bring all that to the film :).
much love to everybody, the cast and the crew! xoxoxox

Like I always say, thank you guys so much for keeping us updated and keeping the family vibe into RENT. I feel more connected to this movie, because all of the fans have been right there with you throughout filming, and I appreciate it. Wilson, honey, I'm an actress and I'm with you on hating the make-up-there's nothing more likely to make your skin break out. Keep me posted, I love you all!

I just watched some blog movies and both trailers. I have already become teary eyed, waiting this amazing musical to open on the big screen. I have been in the front row twice in DC to watch Rent at the Warner Theater, singing along, and mooing along, and crying with the crowd. I CAN'T WAIT to do all these things on in November! I’m new to the blog, but I watch the RENT trailer almost every day with built up anticipation to go see the movie. The whole cast is truly talented. After ten years with the great additions of Tracie Thoms and Rosario Dawson, it’s good to see that the friendship remained in tact. Your professional experience together has transfer well from stage to screen. Seasons of Love is my favorite. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet any of the cast, but I hope in near future, I will get the chance. This blog is great for us as fans to open up and ask questions to all of you. I also like the VIDEO POSTS where you guys shows us how production is going or how it went, and telling us that you appreciate our support. When I saw you guys on Regis and Kelly, I sang along to Seasons. Keep those videos coming!
To all the other RENT fans, keep it up. 36 more days to the premiere. I can’t wait.
Rest In Peace - Jonathan Larson because your work has done justice for a lost generation.
Eight Friends. One Extraordinary Year. Love. Hope. Struggle. Triumph. Mostly of all, Live for Today.
Much respect to the cast and God bless,

Rosario, you are SO lucky to be playing Mimi. It is my absolute DREAM to play Mimi on broadway one day, and you get to play her in the one and only Rent movie! I just want to know what it's like to do so, because hopefully one day I will get to fulfill that dream of mine, and i'm dying to know how it feels to play such an amazing character!
Posted by: Alexandria on 10/23/05 at 09:11 PM
Rosario,
I wanted to take a second and tell you how proud I am of you for really kicking ass as Mimi. She is one of my favorites in RENT and I was just so proud of you when I heard the soundtrack and how much you rocked it out. As a huge RENThead I am just so glad you kept the essence of Mimi in the role. Thank you so much!

Jesse--
Just want to say what an amazing job you did on the new album.
Law and Order is one of my favorite shows, so whenever I watch it now I always get Santa Fe or I'll Cover You stuck in my head. I blame you for that, haha.
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks, and that I will deffinently be first in line to see RENT ythe day it comes out!

Adam: I'm glad that the movie hasn't been too difficult for you, at least not as difficult as you thought. That's saying a lot after 9 years, ya know?
Jesse: Another person who didn't find it tough! I'm glad you love playing Collins so much. I don't blame you really. :D
Wilson: Wow, you were right; I thought it would be the heels, but I guess makeup sucks too, at least for someone who isn't used to wearing that much everyday. Oh well. If it's any consolation, you look better with makeup than I do. I don't know if that's sad or what, but it's the truth.:D Tracie: I don't know if I could imagine playing a lesbian, but I'll bet you pulled it off. It's good to know that besides dating another girl that you really relate to Joanne. Most of us could only dream of that kind of part, let alone getting it. Kudos, Trace, Kudos.
Rosario: You pole dance? Cool! It's like you were preparing for this role your whole life and you didn't realize it. You're so lucky, chica!
And to wrap this up, I love you all to death! I can't wait for the movie, but for you guys, I will. 28 days never felt so long before. :D

Hey!
i love rent. i saw it when i was seven and that waas only about 4 or 5 years ago. i am so glad that rent has finally become a movie. i am the biggest rent fan. i know all the words to every song word for word. i went to las vegas and heard that your producer is the same as avenue q. and it was somewhat similar to rent. anyway, if anyone from the cast can email me back then that would be a perfect gift even though you guys dont know me.also i have all the things for rent. i have the sweater and thinking of spray painting a shirt that says rent. i know you guys dont care but i am a fan. can i help it. lol (laugh out loud)
love brittany

If there is one word to describe the whole rent experience, it has to be "INCREDIBLE". Just the trailer raised the hairs on my arms! The only thing I'm sad about is that it won't be coming soon to the Dominican Republic. But just know that you have an anxious fan in this small island!

Uh Traci...I just saw a screening this weekend, and you are pretty DANG convincing. Seriously, I watched this blog before, so I was watching you closely to see if I could tell if you were having a hard time..but you totally weren't. It SEEMED so natural, and wow, you're my hero. Good acting there. You all were astoundingly good, I was overwhelmed with emotion. Rarely do you see a movie with so much passion and emotion...I was completely immersed in the story. I love you guys sooo much, thanks for making this amazing movie. It had a huge impact on me...

Well, I just want to start off with saying how blown away I was by the movie. Everyone did such an amazing job. I am a theatre geek myself and a lot of people from the theatre program at our school(Floyd Central High School in Southern IN) went to see it and we just enjoyed it very much so thank you all for that wonderful experience!

Alright see,I love this.Tracie totally just solved a huge problem for me.Seeing as how I really am determine to become an actress someday I've always been kind of scared about certain things.Like certain roles that I might play if being an actress works out for me.And I never really knew like how I was supposed to get past that, and how I was going to overcome cetain fears in my life in order to be a good actress. But now I know,it must be alot easier to get through something like that if you trust the person your working with and kind of make yourself more comfortable with certain things.Another thing is,whenever I see this movie,I always try to figure out who I most relate to,and it always turned out to be Joanne. But I never really knew if that worked because I'm not a lesbian, but now that Tracie said that she related to Joanne even though she isn't a lesbian,I know I was right.THANK YOU :)
