I love the updates!! I have been aware of the musical for many years but never took the time to dig deeper into it....what a mistake! I saw the trailer on t.v. and became intrigued. A brief look on the net revealed the website and those awesome musical clips from the soundtrack. I was/am hooked! I grew up in the theater and seeing the updates, listening to the soundtrack and waiting for the movie reminds me of how special the experience is and how blessed those who have the talent and courage to act truly are! Thanks to all of you involved with this project and to the "Rentheads" whose undying love for the Rent experience have created enough support to move it to the big screen! I really do hope that the actors continue to read these and respond.....I LOVE IT!!

anthony rapp is such an amazing singer, la vie boheme is such a great song, the cheorgraphy looks immense, the cinematography perpetual, i cannot wait to see RENT

As dumb as this sounds, this is the best "dance" scene I've ever seen, as you totally look like a normal guy dancing around, being ridiculous and having fun. That's how I dance around the house, and you've totally proved that you can be silly and look great, too!

Wow, that looks so amazing! LVB looks like it was endlessly fun to shoot, you all look like you're really having the time of your lives!

Yaaay! Awesome video. I thought it would be "Halloween" but maybe that reveals too much of the plot to first-timers. And it's a bit glum.

Loved:

- The ridiculously smooth transition from Mark riding his bike to pointing the camera at us
- Adam's hair flopping up and down/Anthony doing some sort of weird jig with Jesse in that shot of everyone dancing on the table
- The great head-hands-jerking Anthony does when he sings, "To going against the grain"

I can't wait! It all looks so wonderful! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the production of this movie. I think it's great that yall can share this wonderful story with so many people, besides all of us rentheads! I'm in jackson, MS at a private arts school as a theatre major and we're actually trying to rent out a movie theatre for the opening of RENT in Jackson - we're such theatre dorks!! Ditto everybody else...I can't wait for the movie!!!! Mark has always been my favorite character of the musical. I love what Roger says to him...."You pretend to create and observe when you really detach from feeling alive," and he says "Perhaps it's because I'm the one of us to survive"...I mean, he's detaching so he doesn't get hurt, Maureen hurt him, so many other people have probably hurt him as well, so he just dives into his work (oh another quote...whee!), and tries not to get swept up in everything going on around him while sort of living vicariously through his friends, letting them take risks so that he can evaluate the outcomes and enjoy or mourn them without getting too involved or hurt........that's my take on him, anyway. Maybe it's because I feel like there's a little bit of Mark in me. Anyways.

RENT was the first broadway show I ever saw, over nine years ago.... I can't even begin to explain the rush I felt watching you guys on stage. I got to see the OBC, and now you guys are back AND on film! So excited, so excited, so excited! This show changed my whole outlook on life and I am so proud of all of you for all of your hard work! I work at a movie theater and a couple of night ago we put together the standee (giant cardboard display) for RENT and I got some pretty nasty paper cuts but it was worth it! I bleed for this movie - litterally!!! My projectionist friends at work tell me when they get the trailers in and I bribe them to play them for me, I'm freakin' obsessed. Thank you to the entire cast for contributing to this blog, it sustains me. I love you all!

La Vie Boheme!!! Love this song... Oh geez it took me a good whole week to memorize the whole song. hahaha yea... If I didn't have school on the 23rd I would seriously go and camp out at the movie theatre and be one of the first ones there. It's gonna be awesome with the rest of the Rentheads. Rent rules=)

I was SO excited when i saw "La Vie Boheme" on the new update! This is probably the song i want to see the most in the film. I enjoyed it so much on the stage, it was practically eye candy, i can't wait to see how it's transfered to film!
Anthony, as always...amazing! Even tho i love Idina and will forever be a fan, i can't wait to see you and Adam on the big screen. I saw Just like Heaven and Rent came on in the beginning as one of the trailers. As soon as the sun hit the skyline i knew what it was and almost jumped out of my seat! I even have my mom singing Seasons of Love now!!!

Since I've been saying this all day, I might as well say it again...VIVA LA VIE BOHEME! This clip made my day. Especially since I have a nasty sore throat right now. Anthony, you are AMAZING, and I can't wait for this movie!

That was AMAZING. Love the spazzy hands during "going against the grain." There is so much energy in La Vie Boheme, which is one of the things I was most worried about. That gives me hope that this scene will actually translate well into film. I'm so jazzed!

I met you a while ago at a programming conference (NACA) and it totally floored me how nice you were and how many RENT CD's you were willing to autograph. I am working on RENT as my Master's thesis and I am greatly indebted to you for bringing the spirit of Jonathan Larson and of the original production with you into the movie. I can completely see how the spirit of Jonathan still lives through you and Mark. My family and I cannot wait. The more I see the more impressed I become. We thank all of you. This play has meant so much to us over the years. I thank you all for bringing it to film and respecting the material. You can count on this family of four for many repeat viewings. We are all so excited. I brought a group of fabulous teenagers to see this show on Broadway and attend the wonderful Students Live Workshop- it was an unforgettable experience.
Thank you for bringing it to the screen and to so many more folks out there whose lives will be enriched by the music and the message. I cannot tell you enough how grateful we are.

Hey, I'm very excited to see you guys kept some outfits original! Mark's shirt! I'm very nervous about the movie but at the same time counting down the days. I'm the local Renthead of my community and I have seen the show so many times. I just am very excited and I hope you guys had a great time shooting the movie. I hear differences in the CD but I know you guys will keep Jonathan's vision alive. I love that the riot is going to be staged because I know that that is what he had wanted but the director didn't think it was possible. I can't wait! No day but today.

I must admit that I was a bit surprised that the song was "La Vie Boheme" in your video, but that is the big number for Mark, isn't it? I hope we get a glimpse of Alexi in the movie. She is so wonderfully shallow that it amuses me. I am saddened by the loss of the voicemails, but "What You Own" (my faaavorite) more than makes up for it!

I'm sorry, I've been babbling on. I must depart now, for I have discovered old Power Rangers episodes (yeah, I'm a geek) and I must get going on my NaNoWriMo novel.

I LOVE IT! But it's too short :) Hehe!

So, once I found out that RENT was going to actually be produced as a movie I told myself I was not allowed to Google anything about it, not until the month that it was being released. The plan was foiled when I saw a trailer for it at the Movie Theater, and now Googling it was a total mistake. To top it all off my sister just saw it at some media convention and tried telling me all about the new parts… lalala I couldn’t hear her! The anticipation is killing me! I have been in love with this musical since I first saw it Jr year in high school (8 yrs ago). It’s so exciting to see so much of the original cast coming back. The best part is that so many people that don’t do the theater thing are now going to get to see this amazing thing! The message Mr. Larson was telling is too powerful for everyone to not experience the phenomena!!! Thank you guys sooo much!

This is an amazing endeavor, and a truly noble one! That you guys have started a weblog for the movie and are sharing everything with us, the fans... I'm speechless at how open and accessible everything is.

And I just want to say this: I've seen Rent ten times (and counting) with so many different cast members, I've lost count. But to have the original cast on the movie quiets ANY fears I might have had about preserving the spirit of RENT. When I heard that the movie was being made, my immediate reaction was gut-wrenching fear. But when that news was followed by the rumor that the Original Cast would be acting in it... what a sigh of relief.

I'm so happy to hear that all of you are so happy with the film so far. I can't wait to see it! I'm positive that it's going to be amazing.

I have yet to see any of the comercials on tv for a while... but I've been told that RENT previews have been playing on MTV, so there is a group of us checking that out to see if we can catch it on TV, haha.

I have successfully convinced two theatre professors who are not too into musicals that a departmental trip at midnight to catch the first showing is a good idea. YOu guys are gonna be super famous after this, which is nice. It's always a good thing to see people with talent getting breaks. Im taking psychology in movies course and today we watched "a beautiful mind". Allthough being a huge RENThead, I hadn't seen it before. All of a sudden you appear on the screen and I really couldnt help myself and yelled "Oh, my freeki'n god, it's Anthony Rapp! I've never seen him in a movie before" (actually I've never seen you on stage either. I've just seen you on all these tons of RENTclips here...) And there you were, keeping me smiling through out the movie. I had a difficulty explaining to the (fortunately few) classmates who heard me, what exactly this RENT was. People have generally not heard of it...

Well, I should go and continue writing about schizofrania...

I saw the original production on Broadway and I am so excited for the movie! It has been fun following your careers on TV, film and Broadway. You are all very talented. I have my daughters hooked and they can't wait until Thanksgiving!

I saw a wonderful production of Tick Tick Boom! at the intimate Chocolate Factory Theatre in London in August, a show that is clearly Larsonesque and a very definite raw prelude to the phenomenally powerful and more sophisticated Rent that was to follow.

As a passionate Rent Boy (or Rent Head as I've just learned is the official title!) for six years now and having seen the show several times in London (and once in Orlando where I now live), I have had great difficulty in converting my friends to understand why I rave about it incessantly. I guess it must be an innate thing - you either feel Rent or you don't.

As the Larsons themselves say, the movie version will open up Rent to a whole new world, but as great as the movie is going to be, I have a feeling the spirit of Rent will continue to belong to the Rent Boys, Rent Girls, Rent Heads who have listened to it, loved it and lived it for so long now. There will be hysteria and tears across the USA on November 23. I'll be there sharing it with you. No other road, no other way.....ENJOY!

This is my favorite song....I love the whole concept. My children even know a lot of the words because of many, many, many dancing around the living room, song blaring moments in their past.

So, I've only watched this clip about a million times, yet I've never commented. Obviously I love it, Mark is awesome. And even though I love all the clips...I'd say this one is my fave.

My friend got tickets to a special showing tonight and I'm so excited to watch it!!! I have fallen in love with Rent just by listening to the soundtrack and reading the script online. ITS AMAZING! so the next day i ran to the store and bought the album! i've listened to it everyday for the past three years!!! when i went to see rent on b'way i was so excited but the mark wasn't as good as you (on the cd) so when i heard you were doing the movie i flipped! (i was 6 when rent came out) and now i can hardly wait for the next 11 days to pass! I love you...cant wait for the book!

So amazing. You bring back the original and keep my Rent the same. I love it so much. I wrote my college application essay about how Rent has changed my life. Excellent video! La Vie Boheme is one of my favorite songs! Gotta love it! Yes, I'm a Renthead. Once you listen to the music, you can't stop. Then, it just seems to stick in your head for a VERY long time and you're singing them driving your family crazy! Man, I can't wait for this movie to come out!

Im living in Japan and don't know if the movie will come out here. I hope you all enjoy it on my behalf. I got to meet Anthony Rapp when he was here for the Rent Gala and he was totally sweet. I saw the film today and i cried the whole way through. I was happy, sad , overwhelmed, laughing in hysterics. Anthony you really have a great way about you that makes people laugh, makes people smile. Your energy is amazing- i loved the tango maureen scene, and la vie boheme. There was a bit where you are watching maureen and joanne vow their love for each other after your meeting with buzzline and you are like - this cant be happening... your reactions and expressions were so funny, its the little things like that, the quirks, that make the film complete. Everybody loved you at the cinema today, and showed their appreciation with little sprints of laughter and applauds from their seats. i think the whole cast has done a wonderful job in reviving RENT, and i wish you all the best for the future, keep doing what you do best- being you!. As for now, you have all made me one happy bunny, i love RENT and cant wait to own my own copy. Making the film is a wonderful way of keeping the music and the musical alive for all time. Thank you :-)
