That was the most adorable thing I've ever seen! I love how Maureen is incorperated into the tango. And don't think I didn't see the little kiss maureen and mark have- Wow!

The more and more I see clips of the movie, I start to understand more what the cast and crew mean by this movie. As the Avid Rent fan, I will still want to see what was so brillantly brought onto the stage into film, but at the same time, I'm excited to experiance Rent in a whole different light. Thank you so much for the dedication you have towards your fans, (Inlcuding me!) It is well apperiated the amount of hard work, and the dedication to the piece itself.

I am so excited about this film that I actually jumped up and down when I saw the preview on television for the first time today. I have been in love with the music of RENT since it opened. I remember watching a bootleg copy of the show in my friend's room after he saw the show in New York during it's first month's release. When I heard they were making it into a movie, I thought, finally a movie musical with real grit and substance... and what made me even more excited was to see the cast list. Bringing back a lot of the original cast, including my favorites Idina and Adam, made me want to cry for joy. And Rosario I'm sure will be beautiful in the role of Maureen. I'm am so excited. It feels like the fans couldn't ask for a better gift. Thank you so much!

p.s. Idina- if you read this at all, I almost cried when you gave your Tony acceptance speech. I think you have a truly amazing voice, and Wicked is one of my favorite novels- I'm so glad you created the role of Elphaba on stage. No one could have done it better. I listen to the soundtrack almost as much as RENT.

OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!!!! i'm pretty much speechless.... but i can say that THAT WAS AMAZING! idina, you are amazing. such an amazing performer, i don't know how you do it, but you manage to draw everyone's attention to you in a scene, you have incredible stage presence, it blows my mind! i aspire to be like you, really i do. you just get better and better and better over the years, and i sware you could rule the theatre world if you wanted to, haha.

It's official...I'm madly in love with Idina Menzel!!! I almost croaked when I had the opportunity to see you in Wicked and I'm going to have to call a coroner to get through this movie.

I'm driving over 300 miles to see the pre-release on 11/11. Hopefully I can meet some other RENTheads along the way.

Idina, I really don't know how to express how big a fan I am. I've watched every movie u've been in just for those few moments, loved you on Kevin Hill (ps, is that comin back? i love everything you all do!!!). I had to search forever to find ur album Still I Cant Be Still... I finally found a copy on ebay a couple years ago and I'm surprised it still works, I play it at least once a week, if not more. Your version of Come Rain or Shine will be my wedding song someday. Your voice is so amazing! You and the entire Rent cast have had such an effect on me. I've been pretty sick the past couple years (I have a chronic illness that really beats me down sometimes), but then I think of Will I, or One Song, or Take Me or Leave Me, and I remember that I can still be strong. And the same with the Wicked Soundtrack. One round of Defying Gravity and I'm not feeling so bad. I really wish you guys could put all ur fans in one room and feel the love and admiration we have for all of you. It isnt just Jonathan Larson words but its how YOU guys put the emotion into them, that lets us feel the passion. Broadway really doesnt get the credit it dserves and that is sooo unfortunate. I'm an actress myself (well, its university theatre, but my director told me once i should try broadway... i laughed at him, dont think i could handle the rejection and i have two daughters to take care of). Okay, sorry, so my point was that, being an actress, I know what it takes to do theater. The best part about you as a person, in my opinion, is that I can watch you and see that you don't act to be famous. You act probably for the same reason I do. The stage is the one place where I'm truly happy. It's when I'm playing someone else that I am most myself. Thank you (and all of the RENT castS) for being an inspiration and giving hope to those who need it.

I didn't like rent when I saw it in 2000, but when I found out you were going to be in the movie, I gave it another go and ended up basically memorizing the entire soundtrack :)

it's all because of that one line from wicked--"so if you care to find me, look to the western sky"--you make that musical so empowering and I know you'll bring the same energy to rent!!!!

Hey Idina! I tried to email you through your website a while back after I saw you in concert, but it didn't work and bounced back. Anyway though, I absolutely loved seeing you in concert in Cambridge, MA at the end of Aug. You just seemed so real and fun and funny, and of course your voice is amazing. It felt more like a one-woman show to me than a concert which was really cool. It was one of my favorite nights of the summer for sure! I've been listening to your new CD all the time and really enjoying singing it loudly while I drive my car. I've been a Rent fan for about 10 years now, so naturally I'm extremely psyched for the movie to come out and can't wait to go see it with all my friends who also fell in love with Rent way back in Jr High. I thought that watching these clips would sort of ease my anxiousness as far as waiting for Rent to come out. I was definately wrong.

This is torture!

Needless to say, you look absolutely amazing, and you have the greatest voice of all time and "Take me or leave me" is perhaps the greatest song ever created, well, it's tied with "defying gravity".

But, other than that, I love you and .....yeah that pretty much sums everything up, considering I can't feel my legs and I think I'm floating due to the euphoria that video just created for me.

So I've caught the bug...the INDINA bug. Before, I knew who you were, that you were a famous broadway star, and I knew what you looked like..and that was it. Then when this movie started coming out of the shadows, I started getting really into it (I know, I'm a poser, not an orininal "Rent-head"...I'm sorry, I didn't know!). I was very intrigued by this cast! I've seriously fallen in love with everybody! I got to see a screening of the movie this weekend, and it was AWE-STRKING!! I was so overwhelmed and completely consumed by the emotion, the music, and the love. This will seem odd, but when I know somebody who's staight is playing a lesbian, I tend to watch them very closely. I don't know why, maybe just to see if I can sense any hesitation, or awkwardness. But uh....you were incredibly convincing to say the least! And even though I'm straight...seeing somebody so beautiful and sexy playing a lesbian is INCREDIBLY tittilative. I wonder if your husband enjoys that?? But lately I've been reading all about you and listening to Wicked (in which you sounded MINDBLOWING...not that I saw it, but on the soundtrack..). You just seem like a terribly sweet person, who is overflowing with talent. I wish I could get into "See What I Wanna See", but I don't know if I am old enough to get into a "mature" show, I don't know how to get tickets, and it closes in about 4 days :-(. But you intrigue me, and I'll be watching and waiting for your next project!!

I'm sure that everything I'll say in this whole post will have been said for the MILLIONTH time, but wow, you are an AMAAAZING actress, singer, performer in general. I listen to the Wicked soundtrack at LEAST twice a day, and I cannot wait to see Rent tomorrow!! Okay, wow...when RENT first came out, I was like 18, in college, working on my BFA in theatre. My friend in my theatre program and I would lay on the floor of her dorm room, feet propped up on the radiator and listen to RENT and sing along and act along with the CD...We both tried out every character from the show that semester. I'm 27 now. I have my MFA in theatre. I teach theatre at a university now, in fact. This show is like the anthem of all the theatre people I've met in the past decade and would probably be the soundtrack that has been playing in the background of my life for these years. I love the show just as much as I ever did. Who knows how many times I have listened to the soundtrack? I STILL get a high!!! It's raw and real and connected and the true piece of art that we are always seeking. I remember when I first heard the music I would think, "Wow, someone gets my generation. This Jonathan Larson guy just said what nobody says. He just talked about AIDS, and he just talked about gay people and straight people and poverty and art." I think actually what I had forgotten was just how new it was for someone to be voicing these issues in this way back then. RENT broke some serious ground and opened the dialogue about these issues. My generation suddenly had lyrics to help us deal with our feelings. I will never forget how this show impacted my life. I'm changed forever from its message of love!!! Dear RENT cast, thank you for your gift! I can't wait to see this movie!

The movie was WONDERFUL!! It meant so much to me. I have loved RENT since it first came out, when I was 16. Idina, you were superb!!
