Jesse, I'm suppose to be doing trig. work in school for math class, but I rather be the RentHead that I am and watch and listen to the new blogs. Your voice is so soothing, it makes me feel more relaxed. I've loved Rent ever since I saw it when I was a younger. But now that I have met my soul mate, we try go as much as possible to the city to see the "PLAY THAT CHANGED OUR LIVES." It's really true when the words are sung, "No Day But Today," that each day needs to be lived to the fullest. Rent changed my life and it will always be in my heart forever. RENT is a show and soon to be a movie, that will be remembered forever. The soundtracks are my therapy for the day, it helps me get through my struggles, and just for those times I feel the need to dance in front of my mirror!!! But the song that has really ment the most to me is "I'll Cover You" (reprise). That is mine and my boyfriend's song......every time we hear that song we are just remembered how lucky we are to have eachother, and to love eachother forever and always. You know--I'm just psyched because I have a feeling every day we will see a new medley type blog with each of the principal actors and it is just so exciting to know what scenes are going to be expected. Having read most of the script on IMDB at one point, I was thrilled first of all that there will be a wedding scene between Joanne and Maureen AND here that we see Sante Fe both the real one and the one that is depicted in the song and how we see it. I could not be prouder of this cast and Jonathan I know you are watching us with pride. Truly there is no day but today. Jesse L. Martin, you are wonderful, good luck. No day but 11-23. 34 days encounting! Yahoo!

You character has been my favorite since I first seen the musical, I was so excited to hear that you would be doing it in the Movie, I believe you have one of, if not the, best voice I have ever heard out of a male...Which suprised me quite a bit, Since for years you where just the "Sexy black guy" from law and order that my mom loved. Was quite the suprise to hear such a voice. Keep doing such good work, I would love to see you on stage some time (And hopefully I will at the 10 year anniversery show!).

i love it i love it i love it! i know i couldn't spin around in a moving subway car without falling on my bum... but i guess that's the magic of movies, no? Jesse, you will always and forever be my favorite! And my best friend's life goal is to someday sing like you (it would be kind of weird if I wanted to, as I'm a girl). This is my first time writing, as I know all of these fan messages tend to sound so teeny-bopper and the same after awhile, but this time I just couldn't resist. Last night I gave my roommate a heart attack (almost literally) when she was watching TV and I heard the start of the commercial for the movie (first time on TV, might I add) and ran across to her side of the room screaming unintelligibly. And I had to wait until the commercial was done to explain. Just when I think I couldn't possibly be more excited about this movie, you and the fabulous other actors (and the great webmaster, whomever he or she is) put up another clip and my day is instantly turned into a great one. Thank you all for bringing these characters to life and capturing them on film... you really have changed my life, and I know so many others. Wow, this is getting incredibly long-winded, but I just can't stop gushing.

Someone commented on there being a law AGAINST showing these clips- But my friends- this is not slow torture!

You see- The good people at Sony and the RENT crew are trying to slowly prepare us for the onslaught of euphoria that will be caused by this movie. It's simply an attempt to prevent what COULD happen.

November Twenty-Third- If they do not take such precautionary measures- Would be disasterous!

Hoards of RENTheads would be transfixed- staring in rapt amazement at the screen... And then- without warning- the joy brought on by this remarkable- beautiful piece of art would cause thier hearts to spontaniously combust.

So they give us little clips to prevent massive heart failure in the movie theaters. Be thankful! THANKFUL!

you guys are so amazing. i am thrilled to see rent done in film because i think that there is so much more depth that you can go into with the unlimited nature of a set for film as opposed to stage (even though the show does have an incredble set).
i am so glad that you all recognized the importance of this film to the rentheads and listened to all of our feedback, that is amazing and i dont think many people would do that, but i think everybody feels like they want to own a part of rent and i think it will be so much more successful with the die hard fans because you guys take the time to care about us. i am sure it is going to be amazing and i cannot wait to be astounded in the theatre, though i may have to wear duct tape so that i don't sing along! sending all my love, and counting down the minutes. . .

I was a bit weirded out the first time I heard the new versions of some of the songs, but I loved "Santa Fe" the first moment I heard it. Can't wait!

Once again with this blog, this entry has made this website as fun as when I first discovered the RENT Broadway website. I think the film will definitely have all the excitement, uniqueness, and drama that made the original show so wonderful!

Wow, what an interesting setting! I love seeing how the filmmakers have turned a Broadway that takes place essentially without a set (save for some tables and a metal structure to point at) into a movie with all of NYC as their set.

And the 'view from Mark's Camera' scene-- I'm a photographer, and that was the one thing I always wished I could see during the show: What's Mark seeing? What is Mark filming? What does that entire end movie look like?

Anyone else remember Chicago, when it came out in movies? It was such a creative step, to turn the songs into 'dream sequences' for Roxie, a concept that I felt worked great for a movie. I can't wait to see what these filmmakers did to turn "Rent: the Broadway" into "Rent: the Movie"!

Personally I would like to say that i love everyone in the cast of RENT.My personal favorites are Collins,Angel,and Maureen.Jesse,Wilson,and Idina,you three do such a good job of bringing your characters to life! I finally got to see the teaser and full time trailers and I almost cried because I could immediately tell that there were relationships established between each character.I can't wait to see the movie and you all,I'm sure of it,did a phenominal job! Hopefully I will be able to meet you all one day! I love you guys!!!

My name is Chelsea and I'm 15 years old. I came here to tell you all how much Rent has touched my life. You see, I was born with a condition called Cerebral Palsy, and it has left me with reduced flexibility in my legs. I can still walk, although not very long distances.

I am a very shy person most of the time and spend most of my hours that I'm not in school at home alone. I don't have many friends, so as a result, I sing a lot. Rent is my escape and my inspiration at times. I listen to it whenever I get depressed or when I have to stretch to distract me from the pain.

Rent has also gotten me through some tough times in other areas of my life. I was extremely suicidal up until about a year ago. I just focused in on what the point of the show was that there was no day but today. It helped me to care enough to the point where I am on the honor roll and I have a person that I care deeply about in my life.

I do feel like somewhat of an idiot for doing all of this, but I wanted you all to read this and know that what you are doing really matters in the grand scheme of things. I love you all for what you have done for me, and I'm sure tons of others. (Sorry for being so long-winded.)

I have become a major Rent fan and I've never even seen the show. I heard the choir at our school singing "Seasons of Love" and I feel in love with it. Then I heard "One Song Glory" and I just wanted more. It's been on my playlist since then and that was over a year ago. I have a friend who is obcessed and totally thinks Roger is hot stuff. I just love the words, the lyrics capture so many emotions and they never lose their power. And they don't just speak to one group of people; I can relate to some lines and I don't have AIDS or anything that might suddenly take my life, but I listen and feel like I'm not alone. I love movies, some musicals, and I just can't wait for Rent to come to theaters so more of the world can enjoy it. The show had touched me and I'm only seventeen.

I have a quick question about the broadway show for anybody that thinks that they know the answer... the ending where everyone is singing Finale B and Angel comes out is there something like behind that? I mean is it supposed to mean everyone will be there for each other forever or is it what ever you think it is? Like an opening ending that doesn't have an answer? ok well thanks for your time!

I saw the original cast on Broadway years ago and I'm so excited to see this movie. From what I've seen, I know I'm gonna love it just as much. My friends always know where they can find me on Wednesday nights...in front of the television watching Law & Order. I've loved Jesse since the first time I saw him on Broadway in this role and he just keeps getting better and better. As for dancing on the subway, I can hardly stand up when the train is moving. Now, I know the magic of film (being a professional photographer) makes it look like the train is moving when it's really not but still, we'd like to think that Jesse's just that good. :) I'll be one of the first in line the day this opens in Chicago and one of the first in line when it's released on DVD.

Great clip. I've seen the play a few times and am really looking foreward to seeing the film adaptation.

Good luck with the opening weekend, I'll be sure to see the film the first chance I get.

Looking over the last few video entries, I'm really excited that the film recieved a PG-13 rating. Rent is certianly a work of great importance, and possessing a message that all should be exposed to in some way. My fingers are crossed for the film.

Hi Jesse...I've never done this before, and I'm probably a few years older than you (but not too many!)...but I wanted to share with you this tale. My husband and I got married on 9/01/96, and one of our wedding presents was a pair of tickets to Rent on 2/14/97 (4th row seats) wrapped around the Rent CD. Can you think of a better, more memorable idea than that? What a great idea from a friend who understands our love for Broadway and musicals. We even limo'd our way from Long Island to the city that night! We heard so much about this show and really wanted to see it. We were lucky enough to see the original cast, too. We saw it about 2 years later and the music still shines. I'm thrilled to read about all the excitement generated from this blog, and I can't wait to see the movie. 2006 is 10 years for both of us, baby!!!! As a fan, I'm impressed...but human to human...I'm so thankful. Chris Columbus was a smart man to place the original cast as best he could. Congratulations and good luck! Rent remains forever close to our hearts!!!!

I saw you in Rent the summer of 96, and it's been non-stop for you ever since, congratulations. Years later I would occasionally see you in the neighborhood (Tribeca) or a girlfriend who worked near the courthouse would see you filming L&O and call me up. You have fans of all ages - my kids love you! All the best.

I saw rent in Hershey, PA in spring of 2005 (where the chocolate's made :-D). I have to admit that when I first heard about who was doing this movie that I couldn't picture Ed Green being Collins, but seeing these clips has completely changed my mind. Good job Mr. Martin! :)
