I just watched you on TV! On the Today Show! I LOVED IT! You were AWESOME! FANTABULOUS SOLO in Seasons of Love. I was so mad I couldn't go. But I stil taped it. So I can watch it over and over again. okay i was at the today show and you signed stuff for me. i would like to say you are so freaking adorable and nice. my mom held our spot for me and my friend while we walked over to the door where you and everyone else was walking in. we were the only rent heads standing there, everyone else had the "v.i.p. we are too cool for everyone tags---and then i saw jesse (i can use his first name because i know him right? lol we all use your first names like we know you its so silly-though we dont :() walk in and i was like "NO WAY, ERIN LOOK!!" and we were flipping out like "OMG NO WAY AHH LOOK" and we were jumping up and down. no one even batted an eye except this guy who grabbed his walkie talkie and was all "get out the barriers" and we were like "no its okay we'll be quiet shhh" and holding our fingers up to our mouths. cause we werent about to like run up and tackle him or anything, it was just incredible to even be in the presence of you guys. so the barriers came out and more people came and stood, but me and my friend were at the front closest to the building and we asked this guy if everyone was in. he said "we have one more, shh" so me and my friend were like AHHHH WHO and he wouldnt tell us. then you came and gave autographs and took pictures. it was so sweet of you to stop and do that. i just had to say it. i'll go comment about the today show now

I'm commenting to let everyone know not to be worried that you won't be able to carry the part off(even though by now everyone is convinced that you can do it). I was interning at a talent agency this summer and got to read the script for the Rent movie. I was speaking to one of the agents and I happned to mention that you, Tracie, were the only person I had not seen perform. The agent, who sees more shows than I could ever wish to see, then told me that she saw you in a workshop, and it was by far the best thing she has ever seen performed. Now that, coming from a New York City talent agent, is a compliment.

Tracie - you're an inspiration! I'm working abroad right now (with a couple of people who were in the Rent National (and actually one was in the international) tour) and all we can talk about is Rent. It truly revived the musical theatre world and it's incredible that society is getting a second chance to see it and fall in love all over...this time in an even bigger medium. Congrats on the role - looks like you were made for it!! Says something about timing, huh?! (On a side note - I only wish I'm as lucky (talented) as you are getting cast by an audition tape - I just sent an audition tape to Rent when I saw they were accepting submissions -- cause for sure "I gotta get outta here" -- yeah performing in another language is NOT so fun after a year and a half! Talk about tough improv!)

Anyway - you're the best! Thanks for remembering us little people (or as my bf says...the people who are still waiting till we "grow up!")

I am so thrilled that Rent is coming out as a movie. When I saw the preview on a rented movie three weeks ago, I danced around the house singing with the trailer, thoroughly embarassing my husband and sister-in-law.

I first saw Rent in 2002 when the Broadway touring cast came to Oklahoma City. I only had enough money for a top-tier balcony seat, but my friend and I went down early to try getting pit tickets. We won the drawing! I sat in the front row in a complete trance, laughing, seething, and crying with the characters. That show changed my life for the better. I cry every time I hear "Seasons of Love," because it reminds me of my best friend's dad, my grandma, my best childhood friend, my aunt...all people I've lost. That song and the meaning behind it gives their lives so much power.

I've starred in Rent thousands of time, although I've never had a real audience. I've performed the whole show on my way back and forth to Seattle to visit my best friend in the hospital. On a 2,000-mile move three weeks after I gave birth to my son, I performed the show three times for my him as we were driving. I've played Mimi, Joanna, Maureen, Angel...even Benny, Mark and Roger. I'm surprised I haven't worn holes in my Rent soundtrack.

Congratulations to you for pursuing Joanne and accomplishing your dream by being cast in the movie. I know you're going to be smashing!!! I've enjoyed reading about you and seeing you in the trailer, and I can't wait to finally see your performance. I'll try as hard as I can not to sing over you while I am watching the show.
