i was kinda pissed that the kid with the beanbags got more air time...

for some reason i didn't recognize taye until he bumped idina. i mean, i knew it had to be him, but he just didn't look like...himself...lol. i just watched go last night and he looks so different.

but other than that, great.

oh and adam pascal is the most beautiful human being i've ever seen. he should get his own tv show of just him smiling at the camera for 30 minutes. no commercials. i would watch.

i am mad about andy milonakis getting more air time too! and i thought idina and tracie were performing for some reason, but anthony and adam did great. it was nice of the cast to go around and spend time signing autographs! ps- it was the cutest thing ever when idina went up behind taye and wrapped her arms around him!

I was thrilled with the performance on the Today show. Tracie was amazing, I'm so happy for her. And I ADORE Idina and Taye so much, it made my whole day to see them. What struck me the most though was how genuine and supportive the whole cast is of each other. It's inspiring! THe whole experience leading up to the movie has been wonderful for rent fans. The blog, the Today show, the video diaries/screensavers/fun stuff :) I'm enjoying it all!

It was well worth waking up at 7am to watch the Today Show.

The most amazing rent day ever! I met just about everyone i could! Thanks so much to Adam Pacal (amazing talent and great guy), Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel (for stopping to sign my program and makeing it special even though they were in a rush She loved the hello!. it ment so much!), Anthony Rapp (just amaizng thanks for everything btw my friend loved the message)! Tracie and Rosario amazing and perfect w/ the cast! I wish i could have met you 2! Got it all on DVD! Awesome show guys! Both songs sounded great, I just wish we had have gotten the chance to see the rest of the cast perform more and not just adam and anthony (although they were awesome anyways). Um...maybe I'm technologically challenged but I text messaged 'Rent' to 47669, and nothing has happened... do you send the wallpaper back to us to download or do we have to get it from somewhere else??

It was great I saw them on the today show and saw them in Bryant Park live. They did great...well duh. Tracie and Idina rocked the stage. I was kinda pissed that Jesse was not at Bryant Park. They could not film a sceen without him in it today? Urggg darn Dick Wolf, but atleast I got an autograph from Anthony. YAY

i watched it on tv, and loved every second of it. the whole cast looked great and so full of life and energy, and seasons of love and what you own sounded amazing! adam looks good with his new haircut (even tho i finally got used to long hair) and anthony is just too cute and awesome. tracie and jesse were fabulous in their solos in SoL. i loved wilson's eyebrow twitch, lol. idina and taye are so adorable together, and it was great seeing rosario dancing to the music.

i need more adjectives for "great, awesome, wonderful"...anyways, it was a super start to my day, and i'm looking forward to 11/23 even more, if possible. thanx to all!

omg, they were ADORABLE.....the whole thing was great. everybody sounded brilliant!

OMG when Idina walked up behind Taye and wrapped her arms around him I squealed I was like OMG ILOVE THEM! It was amazing they did so well, I wish I was there to se them live but I have to live in FL don't I?! Cant wait until the 23rd!

Oh my gosh that was an awsome show! I was taping it but i woke up and turned on the TV and they where just going into seasons of love so i hit it perfect! Ofcourse i still have it on tape because i plan to keep everything on that tape from that performance to the day the movie hits the big screen. After it was all said and done i went and watched it over again! Wow what a great performance! I wish i could have been there to see them all in person i'd have loved to talk to them all! Ohhhhhhhh i'm getting so excited!

The Today Show performances were really great, and please be sure to let us know about all the cast's upcoming appearances. One note, though - the title of the song is "What You Own," not "Living in America." It's a common mistake, but shouldn't be on the official site!

How much does it cost to download the wallpaper?

I made sure to record the show and It was AMAZING!! What amazes me the most is even though they are older they still have that youthful spirit about them and SOUND AMAZING!! And when Anthony did his hand motions it reminded me of old Mark!

Also I downloaded all the wallpapers and saw that RINGTONES ARE COMING SOON!!

Absolutely amazing. I'm so glad all of the original cast came back to do the movie, and as for rosario and tracie, welcome! Adam and Anthony did a wonderful job. That performance took me back to RENT on broadway and i can't get enough. I cannot WAIT for the movie.

I watched it, it was AMAZING... I have to admit I was sitting at home crying like a baby... I guess it really hit me that the cast I love so much and the show that means the world to me is really being captured forever. I think Jonathan would be so happy and so proud, and I am so happy and so proud. Thank you all sooo much!

I watched it too! OF COURSE! I woke up at 6:30 because I didn't want to miss it in case something went wrong and they had to show it earlier or something. I loved Seasons of Love, and I especially loved Adam and Anthony's performance of What You Own. That was awesome. All the close ups and everything! I'm definatly downloading the wallpaper, being an AIDS activist myself, I think I've donated to just about every AIDS awareness fund of some sort throughout my life. I kind of forgot to tape the performance though. I'm cool.

Waking up with only 3 hours of sleep and sitting through an hour and a half of crap was well worth it!

The performances were so good! I must admit, I am growing a little tired of Seasons of Love. (You should like, do La Vie Boheme on Conan, I think you could get away with it then.) I was really happy when Anthony and Adam did What You Own, it's my favorite song from Rent.

I must say that Anthony looked tres sexy, as usual, and from what I've read he's the only one who stuck around after Bryant Park to sign stuff, which is uber cool of him...sometimes I wish I was a gay man......anyway.

Oh! Guys! Go to Rent_the_movie on LJ...it's the community there for the movie and someone posted video of the Today show stuff.

Even though I was asleep when it officially went on, I programmed my VCR to watch it later. To which I did - and wow! What a great performance by these great cast members! I loved Traci, Rosario, and Idina dancing during "What You Own" and them singing along... man, I simply CANNOT WAIT for this film!!!

But hope everyone notices up top: it comes to L.A., Toronto, and New York on 11/11. Everywhere else is Wednesday, the 23rd. Either way, I'm still excited.

I enjoyed watching the show VERY much i now have it taped and will continue to watch it. Adam and Anthony you guys did amazing with "what you own," it made me cry!! My mom just looked at me like "You are not my child!" Adam, the shirt???? alrighty then! well great job to the WHOLE cast for doing such an awesome performance. It's a little complicated to get to NY from Nevada so i'm deeply sorry to have missed the performance in Bryant Park i'm sure it was fantastic!! well great job, and can't wait to see it on the big screen.

I also watch the today show, and I agree I was so upset that the young man got more time, I thought they were going to interview the whole cast, oh well you can't have your cake and eat it to - at least thats what they say, but I enjoyed it anyway, I also went to bryant park, already knew that Jesse was not going to be there, but was hoping, I guess they won't give him to much time off, I am sure he will be there for the premier, all in all I really enjoy the performance at bryant park, they were great, Tracie you go girl, and you too Idina.

I DVR'd the show and just watched it a bit ago. LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT. I swear I just cry when I hear that cast sing anything, not just "Seasons of Love". Anthony and Adam have the most amazing voices. Most excellent. I'm due to put both performances on a DVD.

Won't go on and on here, but I could...you guys were excellent, I was so proud to be a RENThead. While watching it I was with a friend, who promptly went to Borders to buy a RENT bible and sang along to the OBC all day, libretto in hand. Another one down...great job guys. :-D

It was so worth getting up early to watch the show, I was on the edge of my seat smiling watching the whole thing. I think they should have done a different song than what you own, but any extra time to see adam pascal is worth it. I totally agree with jessica...I would watch a show with just adam pascal smiling any day. Can't wait for the movie, I already took the day off so I can definitely see it the first day it comes out.

They were so amazing! I was crying! I saw them at Bryant Park and I just want to say they all have come so far and have done so well! I dunno if this is crazy but Anthony, my step dad played poker with you when you were on tour for Little Shop of Horrors! Carl Casella, sound designer! And yeah, I love you all! Idina and Tracie blew me away, they really have voices unlike any other... Hopefully I'll get to see you all perform soon! Much love!

The "Today" performance was bloody brilliant!

I had to wake up at 5:30 this morning to go to my sister in law's house to tape the show cause my VCR is broken... and it was well worth it! I was squealing the whole time during 'What You Own' cause its one of my favorite RENT songs.

And then I nearly cried remembering how I was supposed to be there.

Everyone was wonderful! Now come to Chicago and do some performing! :D It'll be fuuuuuuuuun! *tries to tempt cast*

I'm upset that I didnt get to see them perform, mainly because I couldnt get off of work today, but I saw a clip from the Today Show and I have to just say, that it is more reason for me to want to see the movie.

I wonder when the premiere will be...perhaps one of the cast members could get me in...hmmnn....I'll work for it if I have to.

Absouletly amazing. I left my house at 3:30 this morning so i could make it, and i did. I thought i was going to pass out when Adam signed my book, and took a picture with me. After the today show, I went directly to Bryant park and sat in the sun for 3 1/2 hours, but hey it was all worth it!!! you guys are amazing!

omg i would just like to say like every1 eles that the cast's performance was AMAZING sigh i wish i could have been there but i taped it! i woke up just to see it. i cant wait for the movie! n i cant wait for the 17th wen i get to go see it on broadway! I agree with alot of people that idina n taye r amazingly cute together! Idina is like my idol! Tracie and Jesse were amazing at there solos n so were anthony and adam*who i think is just sooooo cute :)*. I thought the performance was amazing. Anthony and Adam are so great together and their unique voices are so amazing in "What You Own". I was so excited that they did "What You Own" it is such a moving song.

The lack of sleep (3 hours to be precise) and the intensity of sitting out in the blazing hot sun for 3 hours was worth every single second. The performance was stunning, incredible and something I will always remember and cherish. Thanks for making such beautiful memories and music.

NO DAY BUT NOVEMBER 23RD!!!

Today was just fabulous! Starting out with the Today Show which was amazing to hear Anthony and Adam belt out "What You Own" plus getting Anthony, Adam, Idina, and Wilson to sign my "RENT" program, and then going to Bryant Park to hear Tracie and Idina belt out "Take Me or Leave Me", it was just amazing. Plus, I topped the day off with trying for the lottery at the Nederlander and winning!! So, today was completely dedicated to "RENT" from 6am until 11:30pm! All this hype gets me so excited for the movie...I can't wait for Nov. 11!

I really loved watching the invisable bond that the cast appears to have. Tracie was so fun to watch and she is my favorite cast member this week. I am thrilled to get to watch the new trailer/ music video on the mac site and am anxiously waiting for the new CD, coming Sept. 27th??? More!!!!

Great performance!! I was half awake and half asleep on my couch forcing myself to stay awake to see it. Mainly because I was working off of like 1 hr of sleep. Then I heard them start I was still a little out of it but was starting to get into it. Then showing the true live performers that they were...the last note on seasons of love was off key on a couple of them but they stayed together all of them took their hand held it to their ear and found it and finished strong..GREAT WORK! Then my favorite rent song started and I jumped up and started singing with Adam and Anthony...man had serious goose bumps. GREAT JOB TO ALL AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL I CAN SEE THE MOVIE!!!!

I stayed up all night to watch the Today Show, and then slept all day, and then got up and watched my tape of the Today Show 87462387623 times, and it was wonderful. (And I just used the word "and" way too many times.) Anthony Rapp is the most adorable thing alive.

And damn t-mobile for not supporting the Rent wallpaper.

It is VERY cool, and I myself would buy three. At least. And I know there are lots of people on here who would do the same.

I loved the Today show, it was soooo amazing! I was lucky, and got one of the free shirts they were giving out. I was all the way in the back, so I couldn't see well. Whenever it was silent, I would be like, I love you Idina, or moo with me! HAHAHAHA! Then when they were giving autographs, I went to a police officer, put on a sad face and told him how much it would mean to me to be able to meet Idina and how she was my hero, and he let me and my friend into the closed off area near the stage, and I got to meet Tracie and Idina! The stage manager person was trying to get Tracie to come inside, she didn't want to so my friend and I were the last people to get her autographs. And Idina was such a sweetheart! She gave me a hug, and none of the stage managers tried to get her to come inside, because they knew how angry the fans would be. All in all, it was amazing.

It was amazing!!! Even though I was behind the stage, I was in awe. The songs were awesome! Props to Adam for being the only oen to sign autographs to the people behind the stage. Oh and Idina has the best ass above 14th street!

I was at both performances and they were both amazing. It felt so cool to be a part of all the hype and the cast's first national appearance. Quite an awesome day!!!! :D

Danny brought up possibly seeing if the cast could perform on SNL...that's an awesome idea! We can't make you do anything of course, because it's all up to you and NBC, but I would go crazy. If one of them hosted (probably Rosario, as she is the most well-known), and the cast made appearances in some sketches, and for the musical performances Rosario could do "Out Tonight" and then the cast could do "Seasons of Love"...it's all completely dreaming probably, but that would be the perfect show.

I have already watched the performance 525,600 times i think. I recorded it and had to go to school all day waiting and then i busted the sound barrier to get to my VCR! It was absolutely breathtaking! I got all teary-eyed when everyone was doing Seasons. I think I'm gonna die before November 23! I would of given anything to make it to New York yesterday! Everyone did an amazing job... and they all looked gorgeous! Viva la vie boheme!

Ok. I feel horrible for not knowing all this was going on involving Rent! I just found out this morning that the trailer was out... What kind of fan doesn't know these things?

I am so excited, there are no words to describe it! I made sounds people shouldn't make in the morning. (Something like IEEEE! would sufficiently describe it.) I missed this performance, which is most dissapointing.

I fell in love with this show so many years ago. (six? eight? Can't remember...)It touched very close to home because I've had far too many friends get AIDS and/or do drugs, and it's so wonderful to know there is something out there that deals with these modern issues in such a beautifully expressive way (not to mention broader themes of love, how to live in general etc.( I'm so glad this play is now a movie as well! The more people who can see/hear it the better.

And the cast! I am just so freakin' happy!!! Gah!

Guys, I think we are all in agreement about the airtime Rent received. I wasn't fair but when they did sing, oh... even my friends who aren't broadway buffs were like "I'm feeling it". I wish I was there but my mom was bugging. Congrats to the contestant that wins the tickets. Watching Anthony and Adam made me feel like I was watching a performance in the theatre. I glad the theatre is getting more recognition. Blessed voices. Blessed people.

It was worth taking the 3:27 train into NYC and waiting online at the Today Show, rushiing up from the line to see the soundchecks of "Seasons of Love" and "What You Own" and screaming out "La Vie Boheme" in Rockefeller Plaza trying to get attention. Bryant Park was amazing (thanks to our 2nd row seats) and I couldn't have imagined anything more than seeing them do "Seasons of Love" again (btw, Wilson, if you read this--you were AWESOME at the solo!!) and "Take Me Or Leave Me" was possibly the best live performance of anything I've ever seen in my entire life. Thanks again to the Rent Movie Team and Idina, Taye, Adam, Wilson, Jesse, Anthony (who gladly signed my messenger bag), Rosario, and last but certainly not least, Tracie :).

ACK! I DID NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE PREFORMANCE UNTIL THE ACTUAL DAY OF THE SHOW!! and by that time, it was already 11:00am :'(

CAN SOMEONE PUT UP THE URL OF THE TODAYSHOW-PREFORMANCE.. BECAUSE I'S NOT LETTING ME FIND THE TODAYSHOW WEBSITE!

I watched the video on broadway.com, and god, you people were amazing! I really hope that the video of the today show will find it's way online, for us poor people who aren't living in America. Thanks for making this movie, I love you all!

i cannot get over how cute everyone is to each other. like i get all emotional cause you are all SO ADORABLE like ugh i cant say it, its completely unexplainable, but the chemistry between you guys is amazing. just being in your presence was rediculous. i actually compared it to being in the presence of god which was kind of bad because god is god, but thats how flipped out i was to see you guys. it was me (16) my best friend erin (18), my mom and erin's little brother (13)--poor kid didnt know we were getting up at 2am. but yeah we were in that crazy-butt corner that was singing and carrying on. we were so "enthused" it was crazy. that corner WORSHIPS you guys. we made friends with a few people and we decided that if we had to eat your poo in order to win the world premiere tickets we would. i just realized how much i sounded like one of those crazyass stalkers, but trust me--its only cause we love you and not in the crazyass stalker way. in the devoted fan way. that still sounds nuts--ANYWAY its so sad how much i love rent--it actually causes me pain, thats how much i love it. i feel like the most pathetic thing in the world right now, but hey sharing feelings is healthy right?

omg i cant get over how FREAKING cute you guys were, your performance was amazing and ahh your just so great. i talked to my dad for like 2 hours about how cute you all are. and he actually listened. it was nice. thank you so much for being so awesome, good looking and amazingly talented. :)

jesse-i watched you walk in, and me and my friend caused the guy to put up the barriers. we were jumping up and down and freaking out, but we werent going to do rush you or anything, we were just excited about seeing you, but the guy still put up the barriers--it was so funny

taye and idina- okay you guys go together cause you win the most beautiful and talanted and sweet couple ever in the history of marriage award. omg i cant take it, seriously you two are the cutest. i think i have the most photos of you two. here is my taye story-everyone was looking into the crowd, and im looking at you all and then im like "AHHHH" and start freaking out and my friend goes "whats wrong" and im all "I MADE EYE CONTACT WITH TAYE DIGGS" and shes like "ahaha youre so dumb" so then five minutes later i hear her flipping out and i go whats wrong with you and she says "AHHH I MADE EYE CONTACT WITH TAYE DIGGS" it was so funny. when we did make eye contact with any of you it was like a max of 3 seconds cause it was so powerful. we thought we might turn to dust or something being the mere mortals we are. and lastly my idina story: we were getting your autograph and my mom said we're going to your ptown and boston concert. and my poor mother thought she scared you away by sounding like a crazed lunatic fan. but you were just making your way through the crowd, and my mom was like "oh no, shes going to hate me" and i had to explain that she cant hate you cause she doesnt know you, she probably thinks youre weird though. and so she made me promise her i would tell you in the comments that "dont hate my mom, she was just saying that we love you and want to support you, and she isnt a crazed fan, just a regular one." so i hope you read this so she can feel better. and she said she thinks "taye is hot." so then i had the "mom stop calling people hot" discussion.

I was there, and I am soo happy that I went. The Today Show was so great. The entire cast was perfect, and the extra treat was hearing Adam and Anthony sing "What You Own" because I had no idea that they were going to. I got Anthony, Rosario, Idina and Tracie's autographs. I just wish I could have gotten everyone else's. But, I'm so glad I was there. Getting there at 4:00am was well worth it. Bryant Park was awesome as well. Idina and Tracie were great singing "Take Me Or Leave Me", and Wilson did an awesome job singing the solo for Jesse in "Seasons of Love." I love RENT, and all of the cast. I am proud to call myself a true RENThead. Thanks for filling my life with so much joy!!

That was the absolutely coolest thing EVER, even though I wish I could have been in New York to see it live...I taped the whole show (wish the one at Bryant Park had been televised!) and I'm soooo glad I did. It was amazing. The cast is amazing, amazing, amazing and had me practically screaming every time I saw them on screen. And I had no idea that Adam and Anthony would sing "What You Own"...that was unbelievable.

This carried me through the whole day. Thank you guys so much!!

I was at the Today Show and it was the most incredible experience. Thank you so much to everybody in the cast for taking the time to interact with everyone there, sign autographs and take pictures- you are all so amazing.

The today show performance was too short, but still awesome! It was worth waking up at 7:00. I ended up dancing in my pajamas when you guys came on! And sadly I used my TV remote as a microphone- No joke!

Excellent performance though!!! I can't wait to see the movie.

In regards to the cell phone wallpapers--how much do they cost and what services are they compatiable with, because I have sprint pcs and I texted, but nothing happened. I know other people have had this problem as well so I wondered if anyone had any info. Thanks!

The performance was wonderful! Initially, I was all freaking out when I saw the 8 of you on tv. And then you started singing SOL, and I was completely captured within it. Beautiful job! You all sound great. =)

Anthony & Adam were so great singing WYO. Such an energetic song, and I looooooooved it.

EVERYONE looked fabulous! It must be amazing to be in the presence of such talented, beautiful people.

I was at Bryant Park yesterday. So amazing! (Plus, Anthony smiled at me. Best moment of my entire life.)

The wallpapers don't work for me. I got the download message but then I got a bunch of errors. =\

How do you get to putting wallpaper on you cellphone?

I'm so glad I came all the way from Austin, Tx to see the cast at the Today show and then run to the park to get in the front row to see it all over again!! These have been the best two days this year.

The Today Show was teh greatest. Totally worth dragging my lazy-ass out of bed at seven (I'm a nightowl, NOT a morningbird). I taped it and made my brother watch it and dragged my mom to the sofa when she walked in mid-squeal at "What You Own" (which was just amazing- mucho love sent Anthony's and Adam's way). ^_^

I tried to download the cell-phone wallpapers...but *wimpers* they don't work with Sprint (or at least thats what my cell-phone told me.) *sniffles*

But I love you all anyway. *hugs*

I'm not really a true RENThead because I've never actually seen the show but I listen to the soundtrack all the time. It started with my sister playing "Light My Candle" in the car all the time. I thought the song was funny so I would just listen to that song over and over. But then I listened to the whole thing and I'm so glad I did. Does anyone know what the movie is going to be rated? omg!! I was at Bryant Park to see you guys and I thought you were amazing!! I was surprised when Idina and Tracie did Take Me or Leave Me because that's my favorite song of the whole show and I didn't know they were. I'm obsessed with you Idina!!! I had just seen Rent for the fisrt time the day before so I already knew how incredible the play was!!!

First of all Thursday was one of the most amazing days of my life (also one of the hottest)! BUT.... I'm very disappointed that I did not get to make my video to win tickets to the premiere! By the time it was posted that they would be in Rockefeller Plaza at 6:00am I had already left for NYC (it was not posted until Wed. around 12:00) Before that, it just said they would be video-taping in Rockefeller Plaza but gave no time...) There should be some way to send in our entry. I was there, saw the performance on the today show and was very upset to learn that all the videos had been made before the taping even began - I could have won!! I'm sure there are other rentheads that would love that opportunity also...

It seems that the wallpapers don't work with Cingular phones. I texted the number but nothing was texted back to me. Disappointing.

I was in NYC the whole week before from Sacramento California and saw RENT for the first time. I loved it. It moved me so much, my view on life has not been the same. NO DAY BUT TODAY!!!! I watched TODAY and was bummed cause I was there the week before for Destiny CHild. I cried when I watched it. I can't wait for the movie. I listen to my RENT CD all day and I cry all day since I have been home. To all the people of NYC you are the BEST PEOPLE ON EARTH I swear. I would take NY people over California people any day. Life is about RENT. Oh yeah I love Jesse L. Martin. Law & Order is my favorite show too.

IDINA U ROCK!!!!!!I know u don't like kiss ups and I'm not, I'm telling the truth. Tracie and Rosario, great job. Adam,Wilson,Taye,Anthony and Adam....YOU'RE HOT!!!! This is like the only movie I ever heard of that all the male actors are hot and the females are pretty (Idina, your arms didn't look fat, they looked muscular and I'm not saying this because Taye asked everyone to). I can't wait for RENT to come out and I really really really hope it isn't rated R. Even if it is, I can pass for 18. I loved the pictures on the sight but I still don't see what's up with the tight cat costume. It's pretty funny about the ass comment Idina made for La Vie Boheme. I couldn't stop laughing. When I heard What You Own on the Today Show, I immediatly knew it sounded alot different. It was better. My dad thinks my obsession with RENT is crazy and my mom thinks it is annoying. I told her I wanted to paint my room orange and write down all your names, and she just rolled her eyes. When I saw the movie Bewitched (which I only saw because it had Kristin Chenoweth in it) the RENT trailer came on and I was flipping out. Whenever Idina came on (she was the only person I recognized at the time) I would point and say " There's Idina...and there..and no not there....and there in the cat suit". My dad soon came sick of the name. Adam, awsome voice; Taye, awsome sense of humor;Wilson, your hot; Anthony, keep singing; Tracie, good luck; Rosario, awsome singing ability; Jesse, keep singing I'll Cover You (one of my favorite songs); Idina, break a leg (not a rib).
