YAY!!!! I am so excited for the movie. I am sure it is going to be a wonderful and beatiful film, just as the play was 10 years ago.

Yes Adam, i already bought civillian (and model prisoner for that matter). You guys are just amazing and thank you so much for taking the time to do the blogs and the videos and all of that. Never have I seen a movie made like this that loves to incorporate the fans so much. We all love you and appreicate everything that you are doing for this film!

Okay Adam some friends and I had such a fight when we saw that you had cut your hair. I don't care what they say I love your new hair! Wasn't able to go to NYC but did watch you on Today Show and you were great. Can't wait to pick up your new Cd...quick question what stores have it? Best Buy and Tower Records don't have it...are you only selling it online somewhere?

I hope your son feels better Adam. You sounded great on the Today Show singing What You Own, and on the clips here on the site.

Posted by: Hillary on 08/24/05 at 09:29 AM

Hey Adam! wow I am sooooooo excited about the movie!!! I thought you guys were awsome on the Today Show and I saw clips of the preformences at Bryant park on broadway.com because i live in Toronto. I would have loved to be there cheering on everybody. But you guys were so amazing, I think the movie is going to be incrediable. Thank you so much for reading the blogs and incuding us.

Thank you for the update! It was so great to hear from ALL of you all at once. Now I'm even more confident about how great this movie will be. I hope your kid feels better soon and that you have a great vacation!

Posted by: Becky on 08/24/05 at 09:30 AM

Thanks Adam! I was at the Today Show performance and you guys were amazing. I can't wait to see the movie- I'm so glad that most of the original cast was able to get back together to share the message of RENT through film.

I hope your son feels better and you enjoy the rest of your vacation! (even though it's probably already over)

love,
Nicole

p.s. I hope everything works out for you as it has been because you seem to be an incredibly nice person with so much talent.

Posted by: Becky on 08/24/05 at 09:35 AM

Thank you so much for the blogs and your little video believe me we appriciate them more than you know. You were amazing on the today show-What You Own was sooooooooo good I was blown away. It was 1000000 times better than any other preformace of the song I have seen. YOU ROCK

Posted by: Caroline on 08/24/05 at 09:40 AM

Thank you Adam, we love you!!!

Posted by: Lea on 08/24/05 at 09:45 AM

Thanks for letting us peek into your life Adam!

Posted by: Colleen on 08/24/05 at 09:48 AM

You and Anthony singing "What You Own" converted my friend into a RENThead. You guys were just amazing. You sound great on "Light My Candle" from the soundtrack clips. I'm requesting both "Civilian" and "Aida" for my birthday so here's hoping.
Anyway, feel free to keep trying to post dirty things. They would be much appreciated around here! lol

Posted by: Caroline on 08/24/05 at 09:49 AM

Hey Adam, thanks so much for taking the time to make a video entry. I'm glad you thought you needed to be at the performances even though Monte was sick. (I love his Monte's name, btw... who did you name hime after... Lennon- John Lennon.... Monte-?) I'm sure Monte is doing fine by now, as I hope Lennon and your lovely wife are. Your entry was amazing, and thank you so much for the performances. Don't worry... anyone who is anyone has "Civilian"... and anyone who doesn't should definately buy it!!! I had to preorder my copy... I got it in February and it's awesome!!

Posted by: Rachael on 08/24/05 at 09:50 AM

Your video entry made me laugh. Which is good, you and Anthony rocked with What You Own and I can't wait for the movie. It's marked on all of my house's calanders.

Thank you for paying attention to the fans!

Posted by: Lydia on 08/24/05 at 10:04 AM

You can talk dirty to me anytime!!! ;)

I hope your son is feeling better, and I looooove the Dirty Sanchez t-shirt.

Hot!

Posted by: Cheryl on 08/24/05 at 10:04 AM

Adam there will never be a Roger like you. You have given his charecter so much definition and life, and I hope that shows as much in the film as it does on stage.

"What you own" blew my mind. You could just feel the emotion comming from you and Anthony. Good luck in everything you do.

Posted by: Sondra on 08/24/05 at 10:05 AM

Thanks so much for this video! I've been waiting for one from you.

And I have Civillian and Model Prisoner, and they're both really good.

People, I'm sure his son is fine, seeing as this was taped 20 days ago. ;)

Exciting! So many videos! Must go comment!

Posted by: Amanda on 08/24/05 at 10:06 AM

Oh Adam... a tear for the lost dirty comments!
I hope Monty is okay! The Today show performance was phenominal. Although I've been a Renthead for eight years, it was the first time I saw "What Your Own" being performed by you and Anthony. I was so blown away and touched, I was sitting at home in Nova Scotia crying! I am so happy that this film is being made, in this way, with this cast. I can't thank you guys enough because "Rent" means so very much to me, and I've always wished that I wasn't an 11 year old Canadian girl in 96 because I knew I'd missed the definitive experience of seeing the OBC live in Nederlander. Now, however, I'll have something very different, but equally wonderful to watch again and again. Thank you so much, again!

Posted by: Amanda on 08/24/05 at 10:07 AM

I hope your son feels better; happy vacationing! I just got back from the Cape, myself.

Posted by: Rachel on 08/24/05 at 10:09 AM

Hey Adam! Aww you are so sweet...have fun in cape cod. I live near there, it is such a great place to go with your family. I just wanted to let you know that you have an absolutely amazing voice! I am so excited for this movie. Keep singing..xoxo
-Randi

Posted by: Randi on 08/24/05 at 10:09 AM

You are the cutest thing...I hope you like Cape Cod, it's right near where I live and yeah that's cool. So I hope your son is better by now, and you are so adorable for caring about him. I mean you're adorable anyways but...
Thank you so much for talking to us, I cannot wait for the movie, or at least the soundtrack, and I think you sound totally hot in OSG in the little preview thing. And..yeah. I think I'm gonna have like Rent-overload from all these videos =)..I hope you're having a great time on the Cape!
Much love,
Beckyy

Posted by: Becky on 08/24/05 at 10:16 AM

Adam you are awesome. I saw you in AIDA May 2003 and it was cool seeing you again at Bryant Park. Kinda like a mini-reunion for myself, lol. Have a great vacation with your family. And I'm so excited for the movie! <3

Feel better, Monty!!

LOVE the shirt (and your cd)! You guys rocked at Bryant Park, thanks for making the extreme heat actually bearable. Keep trying with the dirty comments, I'm sure at least one will make it on :)

Posted by: Jackie on 08/24/05 at 10:24 AM

Now that I know EVERYTHING about the life of Adam Pascal, haha. It's like Chrismukkah with all these video blogs today. Seriously.

I'm such a good Adam fan, I own Civilian and Model Prisoner.

Poor Monte, well, hopefully he's better by now, since these were recorded in the beginning of August. And poor Cybele, being alone with the kids.

And Adam, GOSH. We totally want to read your comments, keep those dirty thoughts to yourself!

Posted by: Melanie on 08/24/05 at 10:26 AM

Adam,
You guys were amazing on both the Today show and at Bryant Park. You did a great job in "what you own". Wow, I really can not wait to see this movie. I don't have you cd yet, but I might just have to go out and buy it now. I depends becauseI am saving up money for next year for the 10th year anniversery. Well, I hope Monte is doing fine and I hope you have fun on the rest of your vacation with your family. I can't believe they edited out your comments, you sould have told them that us RENT fans can handle it.

Posted by: Alexis on 08/24/05 at 10:28 AM

I first saw you in Aida 2 years ago, but I never recognized the link between you and Roger in RENT until recently. You are completely awesome. Seems like you're everywhere

Thanks for keeping us posted, Adam!

Posted by: Ping on 08/24/05 at 10:31 AM

the first thing i noticed when i sat down to watch the today show (after the initial squealing and whatnot) was your haircut, what does that say about me?
i was laughing out loud watching this entry
oh and i saw you in aida years ago too, you're amazing no matter what you do but i must admit i'm a little biased towards anything having to do with rent so that will always be my favorite performance

Posted by: rissa on 08/24/05 at 10:33 AM

Hey Adam,

Thanks for the video and all the information. I hope Monte and the rest of the family are doing great and you had a good vacation. You and Anthony sounded wonderful singing What You Own. That footage has helped me get a few more people hooked on RENT. Of course I have civilian, i really love it and listen to it all the time. In fact, I'm 98% sure its sitting in my 5 disc CD switcher / sterio thing alongside Model Prisoner, the two Rent discs and Wicked.

Best Wishes
~Becky

Posted by: Becky on 08/24/05 at 10:35 AM

Hey Adam,

I would just like to say thanks. You guys are doing something really special. Myself and all my other Renthead fans are grateful that you took the time to show the world Rent and what message it brings about life and how to live it to the fullest. We are all so proud and happy to know that rent will always live in our and your hearts no matter what. I am so happy to have been able to experince this.

By the way, you are the sexist man I have ever seen (No, Im not sucking up :)), and I hope that you're son is feeling better. You should head up here to Canada sometime ;).

With much appreciation,
Amberlynn

Adam! Vacationing on Cape Cod mere hours away from me, and I didn't even know until now? That's blasphemous :P Hope you had a good time.

Thanks for the video update. The work you guys do for AIDS foundations is amazing, and we all thank you profusely.

I've yet to get Civilian. I know - I should be fired from owning the LiveJournal Group dedicated to you, shouldn't I? Do you ever check us out? It'd be really awesome to post up a little note from you, if you have the time. You can email me at noellelizbeth@hotmail.com. It'd be HUGELY appreciated! Of course I know you're insanely busy, so don't worry if you can't.

Much Love!

I cannot wait to see you bring Roger to life in the movie.

It was awesome seeing you at Bryant Park!

Posted by: Katie on 08/24/05 at 11:17 AM

ADAM I LOVE YOU!!! you are a god. we are destined 2 b together. soon you will realize that age is just a number and the fact that i am 15 and ur 35 can not come between true love. and u havent heard my theory about y ur so incredibly incredible at playin roger....k so u know how roger is like a tortured soul and what not. well i figure that in order 2 b so good at that role you have to feel at least the tiniest bit like that and maybe its because there is somthing missing in your life at that something (some1) is me. i know ur married and all but watever i dont mind. ok im kiddin about all of that (except for the part about me being desperately in love with you) but just wanna say that i am the biggest renthead ever and u are incredible best roger of all of them. u were also good in aida but frankly i didnt like it that much so i kinda stared at u thee whole time. i have had a crush on u since i first saw u in rent when i was 7 (long story about why i saw it at that age)
anyways cant wait 4 the movie

You guys are too sweet! I just watched everyone's video's and its so nice to be included!

I can't wait for the movie to come out. My friends and I have plans to go in big groups. You guys should be proud, the trailers alone are a testament how much you kept the musical alive even thru transposing it to film.

As a long-standing RENT lover, you guys make me proud!

Posted by: Melissa on 08/24/05 at 12:01 PM

Wow, Adam, can you be any more gorgeous?? And so adorably sweet?!? Hehehe. Jk, jk. Not that you aren't, that's just my girly mind going nuts over here. You are such an incredible performer and really, you have no idea how much you, and the rest of the cast, have truly touched us. It's such an amazing thing to see the cast and crew welcome us and reach out to us. "Rent" has come to mean so much to so many of us that we can't thank you enough for being a part of it. You are thanking us but really, we are the ones who should be thanking you.

Oh, I first saw you in "Aida" years ago but I didn't realize that you were Roger in "Rent." Took me awhile to figure out why your voice sounded really familiar. Hehehe.

Again, thanks so much! I, a huge fan, love u! I can't wait for the movie to come out. Oh, I hope your son feels better.

Posted by: Monika on 08/24/05 at 12:12 PM

Thanks for the update, Adam. I look forward to seeing you in the movie. I hope you update soon. By the way, I love 'Civillian' and so does my mom. Great work, you sound awesome.

Hey Adam! I just wanted to say you were great on the today show. I literally screamed when they said you guys were doing "What You Own", because that is one of my favorite songs from the show. I do have Civilian, I'm actually suprised I haven't worn it out yet because I play it in my car all the time. Enjoy your vacation! I can't wait to see the movie.

Adam. I absolutely LOVE Civilian and I hope you get to start promoting it sometime soon. Perhaps a gig on Long Island *giggle* I"m glad you had fun at Idina's concert in Provincetown on Saturday. It was nice to hear that you were there. Hope all is good and you had a nice vacation. Can't wait to see what Rent promotional stuff you all do next. Thanks for keeping us up to date in what is going on. Love you guys! Oh and yes the clip of Glory is amazing. I love it.

Posted by: Di on 08/24/05 at 12:48 PM

Hey Adam! Thank you for the detailed video entry! I am still so thankful that you agreed to do this film. No one else could possibly seem right in the role of Rodger. I hope your kid feels better! ~Jordan

Posted by: Jordan on 08/24/05 at 12:53 PM

its just so awesome that all of you actually care about the fans! in the long run it really makes me feel like just as much as rent is a part of each of us, we are part of rent. so thanks! I can't wait til november!!!! curios as to what the "promotional tour" you spoke of is..

Posted by: laura on 08/24/05 at 12:56 PM

I heard RENT for the first time when I was 12 years old, and when I bought the original cast recording used, with what little money I had from babysitting. And after listening to it for the first time, I completly fell in love with all the songs from that play, the characters, the plot, and most importantly, your voice. I wasn't exactly sure what you looked like, but it was your voice that really stuck with me. Maybe it was the familiarity of it, I had seen you in Aida a few months earlier, but had seemingly forgotten, and it was quite shocking to hear you again, and through completly different songs. And since then, I've been a huge fan, not for the reasons that some other people may be, but essentially for your voice. It really is amazing, and that's why I'm incredibly excited for this movie, since I was unable to see you in the original cast (I was six at the time.) And of course, to see Jonathan Larson's words and music in a whole new medium. By the way, what was he like?

My best wishes to Monty and Lennon, and I hope your vacation was relaxing and enjoyable.

Posted by: Jamie on 08/24/05 at 12:57 PM

wow, ok i have no clue what to say...I have heard your music and absloutly love New York state of Mind. It's my favorite of your songs...I hope your son feels better soon, and i heard the little clips of the songs and I think you did an even better job on One song Glory than you did ten years ago on broadway. The song seems to really flow alot easier, I mean when i first heard it I was wow...and then just a few days ago i heard the re-recording and it was jsut so much more heartfelt and angsty, you did a great job on the show I was up three hours before i usually am just so i could see that. Not that I'm obcesses or anything ^_^

Much love from yet another RENThead

lol, well Adam, I don't think I hold the prize in randomness anymore. Then again, I've never had Anthony Rapp shove a video camera in my face. I'm not really sure I would mind....:) Aaaaanyway, it was a really cute video and I agree with a previous poster, it really is like Christmas with all of the video blogs today. Sadly, I'm a senior in high school and the vids are placed around 8:52 a.m. I would try and ask my teacher to use the net then, but I don't think he's heard of RENT. Poor, sad, deluded Mr. Castillo. Not that you care. Thanks so much for reading the blogs, it's been amazing having Chris Columbus and the whole gang caring enough about the fans to give us all of these updates. It is truly a dream come true, and I will be first in line to see RENT on November 11th, or more likely, :( November 23rd. Love ya!

Posted by: Violet on 08/24/05 at 01:20 PM

Hey Adam! That was a great video blog. I wish you lots of luck and success for the rest of your acting days. :)

Oh, I don't have Civilian! :/ But I will try and ask for it...it'll be on my long list of CDs I want. :D Bye now!

Posted by: Carole Ann on 08/24/05 at 01:28 PM

Hey Adam...first of all..you are such a cutie...but anyway I hope your son gets better! Wow i cant believe you are vacationing in cape cod...I live right near there. I havn't baught your cd yet but I was planning on it once I got a chance! You are amazing and I cant wait for the movie! Thanx for everything!

Adam - You are amazingly gifted. I have been a huge fan of yours for years, and your albums are AWESOME! I think that you are one of the greatest and most talented singers around. You have a realism and an amazing emotional vocal talent. So anyway, keep it real man. It has always been my dream to play Roger, but no one since you or anyone in the future will ever play the role as you did. Take care, cant wait for the movie.

Posted by: Josh on 08/24/05 at 01:31 PM

Adam-

I just wanted to say that to me you ARE roger, and it's so amazing that you are back in the RENT movie, being that I never saw you perform live. Your video on the today show/bryant park was really funny and amusing to watch. I'm glad you all are having so much fun doing this. Well, i hope all is well with your family.

love always, el

Posted by: El on 08/24/05 at 01:42 PM

OK, first thing: I'M SORRY! - I was laughing when you said "And we'll be performing over there" 'cause it sounded like you had a British accent.. Haaaaa!

Anyway, Today Show was incredible - I was so excited to hear & see SOL performed live.. And then I was so surprised that you & Anthony sang WYO!!.. I loooooooved it, especially your whole dramatic "One song glory.. Mimi your eyes!" *TURNS AROUND TO FACE THE CAMERA*.. Yeah, I had to rewind & play that part over again on my tape 'cause it was funny.. yet cool..

And now very curious as to what your comments said that were edited off the blog.. Hmm.

Ah, I do have Civilian & Model Prisoner, and they're awesome.. I'm so in love with your voice, and the songs are really good!

Hope you had a great time over at Cape Cod!.. And I hope your son is all better now..

Best of luck to you in the future.. I'm for sure a huge fan of yours, so I'm looking forward to your future projects. =)

See, I be random, too.. Hahah, just teasing.

"FROM THE SOUL OF A YOUNG MAN...A YOUNG MAN..."

Dear Adam, there has been much discussion on message boards about the "One Song Glory" song clip and I really have to tell you something...when I listened to it for the first time...I didn't hear Adam singing...I heard Roger!! In those 30 seconds, perhaps for the first time I could hear the fear and hope of a young man facing an unknown future. There is a heartbreaking intimacy in your voice on that clip that truely highlights the difference between singing on stage and singing on film...there is a "truth" in your singing that can only be achieved on camera (pre-recorded for the camera). It's a tribute to your growth as an actor/singer and a person (daddy) that Roger will come alive on screen in a way none of us could possible have imagined by listening to a cast recording made almost 10 years ago. Bravo Adam!

Posted by: Michael on 08/24/05 at 01:56 PM

Oh goodness Adam, I wonder what comments were edited off the blog...;-)

Posted by: Jennie on 08/24/05 at 02:06 PM

The today show performance was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are astonishing Adam (and hot) ahah sorry I know I am a teen! Anways, I really can't wait to see this movie, I've been listening to the soundtrack for years and I'm so exctied to see how the movie turned out I bet it will be amazing like you've all said! I hope your son is better! That's hillarious how your comments didn't make it on lol.

Emcee is not alone in her shameless plugging of the fabulousity (oh yes, you're word has picked up) of Civilian. I have it, I love it, it is going to be in my theatre class if I have to blast it over the speakers (which I will).

Dirty comments? *laughs* I love you, seriously. That is glory...GLORY IN A BOTTLE! (endorsed by Roger Davis, *ting smile*...am I scaring you yet?)

Cape Cod sounds cool, have fun and joy! I hope your son gets better *sends him a virtual "get Well" balloon*

I have the tape of that Today Show performance from nine years ago, I couldn't believe how much I was crying when you eight started singing. And "What You Own" just made my life, RENT FLAMINGOS! Seriously, why did you and Anthony lift one leg like flamingos...at the same time...did you two plan that? *grin*

Mad love to you and the rest of the cast *hugs tightly*

Hi Adam!
Thanks a bundle for the video blog. You were hilarious! I have no idea what this "promotional tour" was that you were talking about... but I hope you come to Philadelphia/Harrisburg area. I am really excited for the movie to come out... I dont' know how much longer I will be working at the movie theatre, but I started working there for the sole purpose of RENT. The first thing I asked them was if I could have RENT items after they were complete with the movie... so I guess we'll see if I last that long. Anyway, I hope your son is feeling better now, and thanks again for your video blog. I feel so stupid because I did a "stage door" once and got a picture with you, and I didn't even realize the signifacance into it... I wish I could meet you again or send you an fan letter, but I would have no idea where to send it to. I might try an email later on to see if that works... wow, I'm sorry and I understand if you didn't read this.

Dirty comments? Is that why they have enabled that thing where you can only post so many times within like, two minutes? They said to 'curb malicious posts', but perhaps they mean yours?

I had to laugh at your shameless plugging of Civilian. I have it already, I was actually having people on my bus listen to it today. I had to special order it at Sam Goody and when I ordered it and when I went to pick it up, both clerk guys asked about you and they ended up really liking your music. So we're spreading the word!

I absolutely loved your OSG clip and the others, too! As I was trying to explain to someone that was too used to the OBC recording, I think since you've lived more and had children and whatnot, you've realized just how precious life is and that its showing up in your portrayal of Roger- as if Roger is now truly realizing how short of time he has and what he's wasted. Your Roger matured with you, and its incredible to see the transformation. (Don't get me wrong, you were incredible before, too ^_^). You're also officially the reason my friend Cyd is now a RENThead- One Song Glory got her hooked.

Thank you for everything, thank you for making today another smidgen better. I promise as soon as my paycheck comes in, Civilian will be in my amazon cart.

Ever since my first time listening to the RENT soundtrack when it first came out I have been a HUGE fanatic! I am so psyched about seeing this movie, and am also very happy that most of the OBC is back and the newbies look AMAZING! I am counting down the days and am hoping ot go to NY for opening night! Much Love to you all!
Adam, I hope your soon is better and that you are home and safe and happy with your family!

Well the day got much much better with these video updates - complete with a squeally fangirl moment as they are so dubbed. Just.. wow. Awesome. Madly. I wish I could have been there to see the Bryant Park proformance, yet alas, Georgia is so far from ... there. (..right.)

Promotional tour? Why, I have died again. Come to ATL and let me waste some money on tickets - if you would be so kind. :D There are far too many days between now and November 23rd. You guys are completely wickedly cool, annnd I can't wait. Make time run faster. You know you can.

Hey Adam,
Thanks so much for the blog update- it has been like the winter holidays around here with all these movie-blogs!
Just wanted to say that I was overly thrilled with the performance of "What You Own". I've heard that performed outside of the show so many times I've lost count and it never seems to sound right. It's a hard song anyway, but to do it out of context is harder, but you and Anthony did the best rendition I've ever heard :)
Hope your son is doing better, and that vacation is relaxing when you are actually back down Cape. I'm an MA resident myself, so I know that's a great place to chill.
Don't stress too much and I can't wait until November,
Nat
(p.s. Of course I have Civilian...got it for my birthday back in May!)

Posted by: Nat on 08/24/05 at 05:29 PM

Alright. . . dirty comments. Nice. That's a coincidence on how you went on the Today Show and did Bryant Park 9 years ago. That's an interesting tidbit. Buying your CD Civilian is embedded into my mind which would most likely be happening next month when my birthday comes.

Hope Monty gets well.

Posted by: Carla on 08/24/05 at 06:26 PM

So, I posted earlier, but I was in a rush and I didn't get to complete what I really wanted to say. Adam, you have the greatest voice. It is sounds so real and moving. My favorite RENT song is One Song Glory. It was the first song on the OBC soundtrack that I fell in love with and obsessed over. I just recently heard the movie version, and it is just as beautiful. It makes me want to go out and buy your CD right now. Haha, wish I could have seen the comments you left, dirty comments make me laugh. Ok, well you did wonderfully on the Today Show, you and Anthony sound exactly like you did 10 years ago. I can't wait to see the film, November just can't come soon enough.

You are such an AMAZING AND TALENTED ARTIST!! I JUST LOVE YOUR VOICE!!! I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THE MOVIE!!!! THANK-YOU FOR THESE UPDATES!! I JUST CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THEM!!! ALSO- THANK-YOU FOR THE TIP ABOUT YOUR CD- I AM GOING TO GET IT TOMORROW!!!!

LOVE ALWAYS, LINDSEY

Posted by: Lindsey on 08/24/05 at 07:47 PM

I wish I could go out and buy Civilian right now, but I can't, in my country we don't have your music, or Broadway Musicals, or anything like it... But when I was in the States I bought Model Prisoner after seeing you in Aida and I loved it, lyrics are awesome and music is great!!

I can't wait to see the movie, I love what I've heard so far from the movie songs, and I can't wait to hear more!! One Song Glory is awesome, and WHat You Own sounds perfect!! Damn, I really want to see the movie NOW!! Take care and good luck to you and all the cast!!

P.S.: I hope your son gets better!!

Posted by: JC on 08/24/05 at 07:51 PM

Hi Adam,
Sorry to hear that Monty is sick. Hope he's feeling better!

I am having serious withdrawals for your music. The CD is great but a live show would be better. Start setting dates PLEASE!!!

Enjoy your vacation!

Too bad about your failed comment attempts. But who knows, maybe the webpage gods will cave in after seeing all the interest we have in your censored comments!

Well, I hope your son is feeling better & y'all have a fun vacation. And I'm glad that you're taking the time to read everyone's comments (and I hope you're more happy/amused than scared by them) :P

And you know what I noticed from your video blog? You have a good "thinking" face. I hope Roger does a lot of thinking in the movie. Haha i'm just messing around now. Okay, all the best, bye!

Adam,

Can I just say that I am pumped to be able to see all you guys on the big screen in three months? I saw "Rent" for the second time when I was in NYC back at the end of May. It was even better than ever! And knowing I'll get to see you and most of the OBC in the film is even better! Can't wait!
Keep rocking, and know that what you're doing in "Rent" is touching so many lives....

Take care...

Haha. Adam, you really know how to make someone's day. That was one of the best video entries ever. I hope your son starts feeling better soon! Fevers are not cool.

By the way, my friend says you should've kept your hair the way it is for the movie and not have cut it. I think it looks good either way.

Aww, loved the entry. I would've loved to have been at Bryant Park, but instead I'm stuck in WI. I can't wait 'til the movie comes out! And I'll have to be sure and get your CD real soon, haha.

Adam, thank you so much for acknowledging us, here at the blog. I, too, highly recommend "Civilian." I'm sure none of us would mind hearing your dirty jokes any given day!

Posted by: Melissa on 08/25/05 at 09:38 AM

Adam,

Perhaps they didn't allow your comments on, since they thought that everyone would think that it wasn't really you.

I haven't gotten your new album, but I loved the first one and will definitely by the new one soon! I look forward to hearing it.

Very bummed that we have to wait a week and a half longer to see the movie now that the limited release was cancelled, but I'll figure out a way to take a sick day that day or something so I can do what I'd planned to do on Veteran's Day and watch the movie all day. Thankfully, the day before Thanksgiving is pretty dead on a college campus, so it should work out.

I can't wait to see the movie. You have been wonderful in everything I've seen you in and I can't wait to see you as Roger! The fact that I missed seeing the OBC has always bothered me, since Rent was my favorite show from the instant I saw it.

We love you all and thank you for taking the time to say hi!

Thank you so much for making one of the best play ever preformed into a movie. Its so hard to get people who are not drama nerds like me and my friend to understand theater. So by making it into a movie it just opens the doors for others to see what great things theater as to offer. So thanks to and your whole cast for making a awsome movie...........can't wait to see it

Hey Adam!

Thanks for catching all of us up on what's new.
Yeah... I remember the old days when you were sportin blue hair and pin striped suits instead of a publicist and "your peeps" Signin' your face off at the Elbow Room and "riding hurricanes" at the Wetlands with the APB- how's Raf and those guys these days? Still playing with Smile Orange?
Anyway...good to know you haven't jumped shark and probably never will.
Congrats in advance on the success of the film version of "Rent". Enjoy the ride!!!!
And one thing still remains- Anthony is still following you all around with a video camera : )

Oh, you're so sweet, caring so much about your family. I hope that by now, Monte is feeling better and I also hope that you enjoyed your vacation. Cape Cod, sounds pretty good. Anyway, before I get completely sentimental about what a nice husband and dad you are, I just want to say that both you and Anthony did a fantastic job in "What You Own". It's one of my favorites and "Seasons of Love" sounded so amazing. I haven't actually gotten your album yet, but I will definitely be checking it out. I have to say that you are definitely a very talented performer, and I'm sure most people on this blog agree with me. Anyway, good luck with the movie and I hope you continue doing what you're doing, because you're very good at it. If I didn't mention it already, you definitely sounded great in the soundtrack samples. Lots of love and blessings from me, Jazzy M

Posted by: Jazzy M on 08/25/05 at 06:48 PM

Dear Adam,

I haven't responded to you yet and I just wanted to tell you that I think your voice is the most distinctive and unique on Broadway, and the raw emotion you put into your roles (especially Roger and Radames) is something extremely special.

I'm a Broadway fanatic, and meticulously study everything from Webber to Sondheim, and I must say that Rent is definitely on the top of my list for favorite musicals. One of the reasons I love Rent so much is because it's not cynical, despite its themes. This is one fan who will always 'forget regret' and live every day as if there's 'no day but today'

Good luck in your career as a rock musician,(I will definitely be purchasing Civilian asap.) but don't forget about theater- the stage loves you.

-Christyn

(Wow..writing fan mail that celebrities actually read, this is a first :D)

p.s. ^sorry if this all clumps together as one big paragraph :(

Posted by: Christyn on 08/25/05 at 07:25 PM

Need money to buy "Civilian"!! I do own "Model Prisoner" though so I'm not a complete lost cause. Just needed to get that off my chest. Lol.

I looke foward to auditioning for the actual show of it once I graduate, majoring in theatre. You, Sir Adam, are my biggest inspiration. I hope that this comment makes it on just so I can personally thank you for originating such a fantastic charecter. I hope you enjoy/ejoyed your vacation, and I hope your son is doing better. I hope you and your family are safe and warm, and once again, thank you. Dan Rezac

adorable post, adam =) I can't even begin to tell you how much it means to everyone how everyone is keeping their blogs updated regularly. Do you (as the cast) think you'll be making it out to San Francisco anytime? Because I live way out here in the Bay Area and no RENT promotional concerts or anything come out here. I'd really appreciate it if you could keep updated on where ya'll are headed. Keep up the amazing work and I can't wait for the movie! <33 Alex

I just want to say that I am In Love with RENT!!! And I think you are an amazing performer and I taped the Today Show performance and i've watched it about a billion times. I just recently saw RENT on Broadway and it's by far one of my favorite musicals. And lucky for all of us RENT fans, you made a movie for us to pretty much watch whenever we want. And thank god it's still most of the original Broadway cast. So I just want to say Thank you and you are wonderful!!

OMG Adam, I so love you, you've turned me into a silly teenager and I'm 6 months older than you, lol! You do share a birthday with my son, which makes you very cool too, he'll be 16.

I've had Model Prisoner for years now, favorite tracks are Undiscovered and Ordinary Boy, but the whole thing is awesome. I got Civilian early this year and Beautiful Song and I'm With You are my favs on that one and I loved your new style on it. Can't wait for the next one. I haven't seen anyone post this info but, you can get Adam's CD's on Itunes and also at Sh-k-boom.com.

Hope the kids are well now and that you had a hella good time on vacation. Looking forward to hearing from you again and absolutely dying here in Utah to see the movie on 11/23. I might fly out to NY, I never did get to see you in Aida (which I loved and have a website dedicated to) but this premier would help get me over that (hint?)lol.

Hey Adam! I justed wanted to let everyone who is involved with the musical as well as the movie how much this story of hope, love and life truly moved me. Just last a couple of weeks ago, my best friend and I experienced Rent for the first time on broadway. I can't even find words to explain the rush of feelings I felt for the characters, the music, everything. I cried more than any movie or musical has ever made me cry before, yet it was extremely inspirational and uplifting. I could identify with all the characters in one way or another. Now i definietly know what all the fuss has been about and am so looking forward to the movie! I have been faithfully checking this blog (which is so great by the way)! This story is something special and I am excited that you will be able to share it with the rest of the world.
P.S. Adam, I saw you and Deborah Cox in Aida last summer...omg you two were amazing!! I was just dissappointed that you didn't come out after the show so i could swoon and tell you how good you were in person ;)

Posted by: Courtney on 08/26/05 at 07:36 PM

You guys sounded AMAZING on the Today Show and at Bryant Park.
I love the new One Song Glory clip!! Can't wait to see/hear the whole thing!!!
Hope you had a good time in Cape Cod (LOVE IT up there) and hope your son's doing better!

i LUV your blog picture. its so funny but it works for you. I think you sound amazing whenever I hear you, but on the preview of the soundtrack of the movie, it sounded like you were holding back, which made me sad. I think you sound amazing at full power, but its still cool. Im sure it will work out wonderful. I hope your album does well! TTYL!!

Posted by: Edlyn on 08/26/05 at 10:10 PM

I've waited for this since I first saw Rent eight years ago. This movie is going to be phenomenal! I'll be leaving for Air Force Basic Training on November 14th, so I'm very upset that I won't see it until Christmas! Either way, it's going to be great, You're beautiful, Adam! Thanks for bringing the musical to life!

Posted by: Danielle Kruszewski on 08/27/05 at 07:14 AM

Adam you're one of the most amazing talents I have ever seen perform. I saw rent ten years ago with this same cast, and it was the first broadway show I ever saw, I was twelve years old. It literally changed my life. I have watched the Rent movie trailer eleven times now and every single time I cry uncontrollably because it is that touching of a story and the characters are portrayed so well. Congratulations on all your success and thank you; Rent, it's story, and all your brilliant performances have affected me in ways that words can not express. Cheers.

Hi Adam. I just want to say thanks for inspiring me for the past 6 years (when I fell in love with RENT...and musicals themselves for that matter). The first song I ever heard was "Would You Light My Candle," and although I am apprehensive about the film, as it will never live up to seeing RENT on stage and live, I believe in the cast and what you can do together. I will be there at midnight (if they have a midnight preview in Appleton, Wisconsin)...and I cannot wait to dive deeper into each character as you can't do on stage. So thank you for these past years, and thank you for your voice and your inspiration!

Bryant Park sounded like it was amazing. I wish I could have been there, but I had no way of getting there - I don't have a car. And I had no one to go with. It would have been amazing to see the cast perform, I fell in love with Rent just this year but already I have the songs stuck in my head [they haven't gone away since may when I first heard the songs], and my friend & I live in NYC so we'll see it on the 11 - and we're going be one of the first in Queens to see the movie, too, because we're waiting for tickets hours before they go on sale. I'm so excited & I'm counting down the days until November 11. I'll post again after I see it because I'm sure it's going to be as wonderful as the play.
Also - I'm going to try and listen to some of your songs, too. You're an amazing singer!

Hey Adam!
Thanks for posting, and reading our comments. Your voice is so incredible. I was lucky enough to be in the 4th row at Bryant Park-- you guys were amazing! I'm so excited for this movie. I really feel connected. Unfortunately, i'm only 15 years old, so i haven't been connected for very long, but I'm glad I did my research and am up-to-date with RENT now! By the way, I'm so glad you cut your hair. IT DEFFINITELY LOOKS HOTTER SHORT! Anyone on the blog want to challange that???!!?? haha anyway, good luck with everything... i'll be rooting for you!
Love,
Samantha
ps- I hope your son feels better :(

Adam

Oh, Adam. Why must they deprive us of your dirty comments? Hehe. Anyway, clever idea. We're all sad it didn't work out.

I hope your son feels better!

I am cursed with not living in NY, so I wasn't able to be at the Today Show and Bryant Park, but from what I've heard/seen, you were all AMAZING.

If Novemeber doesn't come soon, I will ge insane. Did I mention how severely pissed off I am that I can't see the movie on the 11th? I live in LA too, I would have been able to! Gah. O well, I'm sure there's some good reason for that.

You're AMAZING, Adam.

Love Always and Forever

Hey Adam-
Thanks so much for the great blog update..and what a shame your posts on here didn't show, I'm sure they'd be very entertaining. I'm sorry you had to leave your family and your vacation, but thank you so much for being so devoted to the film and for giving a great performance. I was cheering from my tv set.
I hope you have (had) a great remainder of your vacation and I hope your son is feeling better.

Adam~

You are amazing. I went to NYC to see Aida with my school group a few years back(I'm from Ft. Wayne-Northrop HS where Heather went) and was disappointed to see you did not perform at night. I am still bitter...no not really. ;) Cannot WAIT for RENT. You are an amazing singer and performer. Thanks for being an amazing Roger. I've see two traveling performances of RENT and none of the Rogers compared to you.

Hope the vacation was fun and relaxing!

Hey Adam! It's great to hear that you guys are doing this awesome stuff for Broadway Cares! I'm buying a bunch of stuff from the Broadway Cares site as soon as I get my b-day money. I also asked (more like pleaded) my parents/sister/friends for your "Civilian" CD for my b-day! I've heard some of the songs and they are amazing! Have an awesome rest of your vacation and I hope Monty gets better.

I don't know a woman in the world who doesn't think you are the best thing since Wonder Bread! And I love your voice... I'm so glad that you're returning to the role of Roger for the movie of RENT. No one can fill your shoes. I've even got my hard-rock hubby excited about seeing the movie--which is no small task, trust me! :-) You're awesome! Love, Jen

ok, i was watching your little vidio and it was kind of funny to me. becuase i just got back from cape cod yesterday and i left for it on the 24th and i was teaching my brother(9yrsold) all about rent and telling him about how i love your voice because he sound kind of like you and loves your charcter so we were talking about you the whole time. i can't belive that we were so close to you. omg. that was so cool.

Hey Adam! I love Civillian (Beautiful Song is pumped up in my car EVERY DAY on my way home from work!!) I am a huge huge huge fan- and you could probably tell by me screaming your name every ten minutes at the Today show and at Bryant park. That day was magical and I think about it all the time! Can't wait for more promotional stuff so I can be there and try to recreate that feeling of seeing you all together and bringing the characters alive again! THANK YOU!!!

I have never had the benefit of seeing RENT on Broadway and this movie is like a dream come true for those of us who can not afford to go to NYC. I have the soundtrack and I am telling you that you convey so much power and energy and the emotion I feel when listening to the songs you sing, especially , one song glory, is beyond words. I feel like i am there watching your pain and agony as Roger and I hope that with this movie, I can finally see what I am dreaming about! You are truly wonderful and i wish you so much success in the future!

Posted by: Missy on 09/03/05 at 12:34 AM

Your voice is amazing! I have both your albums along with the recorded broadway shows you've done. I love listening to you because of the emotion you can feel just through the stereo. I'm so excited about this movie and I wish you the best of luck and success for the future!

wow. a rent movie. god I feel like ive been living under a stone. this is the coolest thing, and something i've been dreaming about. i was a rent head once.. something im damned proud of. i wasn't quite up there with the people who toured but i did see the show four times. And my friends and I rode around in a car singing rent to the top of our lungs. it was so cool if you could memorize la vie boheme. i once got chastized for knocking to early on "light my candle". :)

i will never forget the first time i saw Rent. it was right after my grandmother died, and we drove back through denver from NE and we had tickets. we almost didn't go. and i am so glad we did.
thank you for making this wonderful musical into a movie. it will reach so many people that it didn't get to on the stage.

PS- So excited that it's pretty much the orginal cast. Can't see anyone else playing the part of Angel! Saw Wilson once on stage.. breathtaking!!!!

Hey Whts up Adam?!
Well I just took my first trip to new york with my dad, and cause Im a big theater lover, my dad surprised me with tickets to any musical on the market! SO I heard RENT was a staple in the world of theater, so I chose it, and I adored it...it wa slike exactly the crazy cretive musical a girl like me lives off of! I even got made fun of because the next night we went to see "Lennon", and afterwards I was still singing along to RENT (although Lennon was ffantastic as well!) I think theater effects people ina large way, in the right way, and especially someones first taste of real theater....What was your first brodway show, and did u get the same rush? I loooove your voice, and I hope you realize just how loved u are! Best of luck with your family and future.

Posted by: marina on 09/11/05 at 08:18 PM

Hey Adam,
I was glad to see that there was a vidoe of you. Don't tell anyone else but you are my favorite. I remember seeing you in Aida and you blew me away. I am so excited about the movie! I have never seen the musical because my family could never afford such a thing but was able to save up to buy the CD and I have to say that it really has helped me through tough times.I was barely lucky to see you in Aida because the VH1 save the music foundation had invited me to perform at the Grammy's viewing party and it was a treat from them. I have to say that I am really jealous of your wife because she has such a great husband. I hope you make another video.
bye.

Love,

Hullo Adam

In my homeland, Iceland, the role of Roger was played by a famous icelandic rock/pop star which probably was chosen for the part more for his singing voice and shabby rockstar image he already had, not for his acting talent...
So, suffering from the geographical challengo of living in Iceland I've never seen anyone else play the part of Roger and I just cant wait to be able to fit your look, image and acting to your voice which I allready know so well of my OBC CD.

I didn't come across these blogs until after I had already seen the movie, so I guess I'm playing catch-up in watching them all and leaving you some comments. I'm sure that you don't have the time anymore to read them, but here it goes anyway.

I have Civillian, it is amazing. I have Model Prisoner too, for that matter. They are both wonderful records. You should go on tour.. and come to Nova Scotia. Then I could die happy.

It's too bad the dirty comments were edited off. That would have been great, haha. Anyway, congrats on an amazing movie, congrats on two amazing records, and I definately hope you come near Nova Scotia sometime.

hahaha, Adam, you are hilarious. Thanks though, for giving us a look at your life. You are so adorable and just really funny all of the time.

You know, I'd be really surprised if you didn't recommend your own CD...anyway I'm planning on buying it. (I know that sounds weak but I promise that I will.)

Hope we at least make you laugh :-)
